Dorm Log: the millionth revenge

What: Dorm log! SUMMER BREAK EDITION!
Where: Student and Teacher dorms, and quite possibly beyond campus. Everything is acceptable.
When: The span of July 11 - July 22
Warnings: Imagine college, only with more super mushrooms-- WAIT NO lollipop drugs are the craze these days.

Ripped off the last one and all its friends: Basically, here's what's going down. We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment, but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!

Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Whatever you want. It can all be yours if you make a thread. So have at it! Don't let this log get away untagged.

Keep in mind that starting the 17th, the school will progressively be inundated with flood waters.

[Chell rolled her eyes. Fine, come into her room. It's not like Chell had any privacy at the Aperture Labs anyway. So, she stepped aside and opened the door wider, holding out an arm while glaring slightly.

It wasn't as if there was much in her room to hide. Anything strange in there, like that doll, belonged to Mary. All Chell had was a bed, a desk, her Companion Cube, Samus's security droid cube, and a Rubik's cube.]

[GLaDOS looks around the room curiously. Huh, she didn't expect it to be this empty. She does, however, notice the Companion Cube in said room, looking as beat up as it did the day she gave it to her.]

So I see you kept the Companion Cube I gave you.

[Yeah, start-up conversation.]

[Chell nodded. Yes, that was obvious. It had been a "gift" from GLaDOS, though it would have been a much better gift to not kill the supposedly sentient Cubes in the first place. Even now, Chell still wasn't sure if the Cube was actually alive, or if it was just an object, but she was still attached to it.

She did appreciate it, though. If GLaDOS had just wanted her to get out, she could have deposited her on the surface for good, and Chell would have left. But she gave her the Cube, knowing that it meant something to her. And the aria...

Needless to say, GLaDOS still confuses her. But Chell's room still feels impersonal, like it's not really hers. Otherwise, she probably wouldn't have let the other woman in.]

[It's not unusual for Chell to feel the room wasn't really hers. After all that happened at Aperture, she should feel off about this place. Regardless of the feelings the former test subject may have, GLaDOS walks over to the cube and looks at it, frowning. Aperture Science was her facility, everything in it and manufactured in it was hers, and even if she did give it to Chell, seeing it in a state of disrepair was a bit annoying.

Everything Aperture made was either perfect, or disposed of...that's how the company worked, no exceptions.]

It certainly could use some repairs.

[Typical. GLaDOS refusing to take responsibility for anything, attempting to manipulate Chell into giving in. So, she just rolled her eyes, very visibly. Of course the Cube could use repairs. But whose fault was that?

Well, technically, very technically, it was Chell's fault, but she had been forced to incinerate it, and GLaDOS damn well knew it. She was the one destroying Companion Cubes left and right just to annoy her back when she first woke the AI up after her stasis.]

[Ah yes, she remembers that. Remember when she said one of them was about to say "I love you"? She was lying, of course. But still, good times.]

If you'd like, I can make the repairs myself. Unless of course you don't trust me.

[Her tone was the same monotone as always, as if she didn't care one way or the other...but there was a challenge to her words. As if she was daring Chell to admit she didn't trust her.]

[Chell did not want to entrust the Cube to her, though. After she had been cruelly forced to "euthanize" it, and after GLaDOS so carelessly destroyed so many of them, why would she willingly give this one up? Hadn't it been through enough?

If the Cube truly had thoughts and feelings, Chell assumed that GLaDOS was the last thing it wanted to be given to. But then again, it was badly burned. Was it even still alive? Chell thought it was. She couldn't describe it, but there was a feeling she got from it.

But Chell goes over and sits atop the Cube, giving GLaDOS a raised eyebrow, as if daring her to come and take it.]

[GLaDOS stares at Chell a long time, watching her after she sat on the cube in a clear act of defiance. Humph, she hadn't changed at all.]

Fine. Keep the burnt cube.

[Good. Chell knew how to win with these robots. Hell if they would torture that Cube again.

She remains seated upon the Cube, though, with her arms folded, though she smiles slightly to signify her knowledge of her small victory.]

[Yes, yes, you won. Good for you. GLaDOS will just shoot Chell a look before turning around.]

Well, I think I've wasted enough time here. If you need me, I'll be in the computer lab.

[And she headed for the door, turning her head just before she left.]

By the way, do me a favor; don't need me.

[Chell just sat upon the Cube and watched as GLaDOS left. Good, that meeting was relatively short. She hoped GLaDOS wouldn't be bothering her again unless it was with information on how the hell to get out of here.

And that cake...

Well, she left it on Mary's desk.]
