Dorm Log: the millionth revenge

[Between the few summer courses he's taking, Link is everywhere and in everything. Cutting grass when it gets too long, smashing pots when he sees new ones, ~~rifling through people's closets~~ opening treasure chests that he happens upon.

The boy sleeps only as long as Navi lets him, but he gets plenty of naps in in the most random of spots. Being a young kid, she realizes napping is good for him and encourages it when he's spent too much energy running around and exploring. But she also knows that he shouldn't spend all day sleeping, so she keeps these naps to only an hour or two. So people could easily happen upon the boy curled up on his right side in a tree, under a table, tucked against a wall somewhere, etc.

He may also be trying to sneakily stalk Ganondorf. Cause he knows now that the man either becomes very, very evil or was once very, very evil since the events of the time-eater plot. He just doesn't know which, yet. Everything was very confusing.

He is also keeping an eye on all the Zelda's because one of them is the princess he has to help. But now that there are three girls with that name in the school, he doesn't know which is which. So he may as well try to help all three!

...it's probably the ghost one he has to help, right? She seems to need the most help.]

[After Zelda had arrived at the Academy, Byrne's disposition had changed. He thought he had escaped from that whole situation, but the spirit of the Princess had followed him. She hadn't even gotten her body back.

It was a mix of emotions that filled him when he thought of it, but a lot of it was guilt. He had been the one to rob her body for his own selfish desires, almost bringing about the world's destruction. Perhaps Hyrule actually had been destroyed, though, and the Princess's spirit had fled. He didn't ask her, though. He had little to say to her. Guilt, anger, hatred, envy... He didn't want to think about it.

But when he thought he saw the boy who accompanied the Princess sleeping under a tree, his heart jumped. She had said he wasn't here. But now he was, and it probably wouldn't be long before Anjean followed.

So when he sees Link sleeping under the tree, he just stares.]

[Link shook in his sleep. The nightmares that plagued him in the Kokiri forest still chasing him even here. A whimper escaped him and he curled into himself even more. He wasn't aware he was being watched and Navi didn't seem to realize how close Byrne may have been, either.]

[Byrne could tell that the boy was having nightmares. Of Malladus, perhaps? That guilt appeared again, causing Byrne to say something to wake the boy up.]

What are you doing here?

[Link stirred quickly enough. He was now used to navi waking him with a sharp noise so a question meant to wake him did the trick and he was quickly waking up, rubbing at his eyes to get the sleep out as he sat up to look at the man.]

mmmm... I was sleeping.

[Well duh. He was sleeping. Byrne wanted to facepalm at that. But he wanted to cut to the chase.]

I meant, what are you doing here? At this school?

[His tone is deep and icy, as are his eyes. However, upon looking at this boy, he doesn't look exactly like as he remembered. He was slightly different, and he had a glowing blue thing with him. He didn't remember that.]

I'm training to be a better fighter.

[Mostly awake now, he leaned back on his hands and stretched his legs out in front of him as he tipped his head back to look up at Byrne.]

So I can help the princess when she needs me to.

[That sounds like something that Link would say... So Byrne narrows his eyes in response.

So he assumes that this Link is the one he knows.]

I see.

[He turns around then to leave, knowing the kid's intentions. But his head turns to the side as he leaves one last message.]

Thank you, Mister.

[Link said back, smiling, but now curious about the man. That couldn't really be all he'd been woken up for.]

Is that all you wanted to talk about?

["Mister." He's somewhat surprised that he's acting this way. Like he doesn't know him.

Then he remembers about the Link he met here in this school... He wasn't the one he knew, but he looked so similar.

So he stops and asks one more question.]

Do you know who I am?

[Link shook his head 'no'.]

Are you a teacher?

[Byrne's fairly sure that the kid is being serious. And he feels a wave of relief, though he's still wary of anyone named "Link" or "Zelda" or any of those unfortunate names he had crossed paths with.]

Yes. Martial Arts.

That's a fighting class, right?

[An idea dawned on the boy and he rushed to stand up.]

Did you want to make sure I'd be in your class since I'm taking all the other fighting classes I can? I'll try to if my schedule will allow it! When does it start? Is it a summer class?
