Dorm Log: the millionth revenge

What: Dorm log! SUMMER BREAK EDITION!
Where: Student and Teacher dorms, and quite possibly beyond campus. Everything is acceptable.
When: The span of July 11 - July 22
Warnings: Imagine college, only with more super mushrooms-- WAIT NO lollipop drugs are the craze these days.

Ripped off the last one and all its friends: Basically, here's what's going down. We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment, but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!

Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Whatever you want. It can all be yours if you make a thread. So have at it! Don't let this log get away untagged.

Keep in mind that starting the 17th, the school will progressively be inundated with flood waters.

Kanji - everywhere

Kanji might be out and about, or he might be chilling in the dorm room he shares with Kirby. In his room he has video games, but he also has crafting supplies like knitting and sewing, and he could be doing those. But outside of that room he won't do any of that stuff. But he could be out getting noodles, walking around, or whatnot.

[Kanji and Jin are sitting near each other in the cafeteria, though Jin doesn't seem to be eating much of anything. Mostly reading.]

[Kanji, meanwhile, is scarfing down a lunch when he sees Jin close t him not eating a thing.]

Huh. What're you reading that's more important than lunch?

[majorjealousy]

[Jin continues to read, moving a hand slightly to reveal the cover of the history book he's buried in.]

[Kanji sees a dumb history book. Okay...]

What're you studying history for? It's summer vacation, geez.

[majorjealousy]

[His eyes flick up over the book to bore holes into Kanji.]

I'm a teacher.

[findthepenguin]

[Whoa okay that was quite a glare.]

Whoa, geez. Chill out.

[He waves a hand in a "calm down" kind of gesture, though it's in a sarcastic manner, as is his voice.]

[majorjealousy]

[Huff huff.]

I guess you're a student?

Yeah. What of it?

[He stuffs another bite of noodles into his mouth.]

[majorjealousy]

I'm just trying to get a handle on what the students in my class will be like. So far, I'm not impressed.

[findthepenguin]

[Oh. that was a clear insult to Kanji. His mouth straightened into a half-frown.]

Yeah, well! I'm not impressed with you either!

[majorjealousy]

[He blinks blankly at Kanji.]

That's fine.

Hallways

And look who should pass by the other side of the hallway, carrying a guitar case. It was the totally flamboyant, amazing, beautiful, unique, insert other narcissistic stuff here, Eikichi "Michel" Mishina.

"Hoooooo! You better not be causing trouble here cause Michel's on the--"

WAIT A MINUTE. Hades was telling him something...

Persona? Persona.

This guy. Had. A Persona, didn't he? Well, in that case, he wasn't going to be as jovial as he was a few minutes ago. Just a bit surprised.

"Huh. Didn't expect to find another user in this school."

[findthepenguin]

What. Who even... who even was this guy?

Kanji stared back, raising an eyebrow. He looked so... Well, let's just say Kanji wouldn't be caught dead dressing like that.

"Whaddya mean, 'user?'"

Was he talking about drugs? Kanji wasn't really into that scene. Or alcohol... No, he didn't quite process what was going on at the moment.

[deathboss]

"Hmmm? Well isn't it it obvious?" Eikichi didn't really know the meaning of the word 'personal space' and he walked rather close to the other student, grinning. He looked at him for a few seconds, silently before speaking again.

"Do the worlds "Persona Game" mean anything to you?"

Kanji was very much not liking this guy encroaching on his personal space like that, especially since he was so flamboyant and weird....

But he heard the word "Persona" and his eyes widened. How... how did he know about that?

"The hell are you talking about?" he snapped, "What is this 'game' thing?"

Because really, while the word "Persona" rang a bell, the word "game" coming after it did not.

[deathboss]

'You've got Persona," he replied right back, crossing his arms as he paced back and forth. "I can feel it. It ain't that hard..."

Suddenly, he stopped, putting a finger over his lip.

"You met him right? Philemon. Played the Persona game, met him up in your dreams, remembered your own name so he gave you the power to call forth your other selves." Yet Kanji's tone confused him somewhat - Eikichi could tell when people were lying and he didn't seem to know about the whole 'game' aspect at all. He tilted his head slightly, studying him and his reactions. "Unless you're about to tell me you were given yours a little differently?"

"Who?" he asked. Yeah, now he was confused. He didn't obtain his Persona in that sort of way at all.

"Wait, wait, wait," he called, waving his hands in confusion. "I'm lost here. What game? Who's this Philemon guy?"

He was reluctant to talk about his Persona, especially since he didn't acquire his in any way that resembled what this guy was talking about. Who was he, anyway? And how could he sense his Persona? That was just creepy, to be honest.

[deathboss]

Huh. So no Philemon. That was odd. A delinquent with Persona who didn't seem to use it quite the same way as he did...odd...but also very interesting.

"Philemon," he repeated again. "He is a spirit of the subconscious. What about Igor? The Velvet Room? As kids a few friends and I played the Persona game together. That's how we got ours..."

He adjusted his shift in weight again, leaning on one of the nearby walls and his guitar case.

"...And you can't sense other users, can you? Hmmm...what year is it, where you're from?"

Igor, the Velvet Room... These were also things Kanji had never heard of. What convoluted thing was he even talking about? Persona wielding wasn't a game; it was the ability to face your true self and overcome it.

"It's 2012," he said, eying the other suspiciously. He knew that different worlds converged here, but if they were both Persona wielders...

"Tell me more about this 'Persona.'"

He was still reluctant to admit that he had one. It was only something that the other Investigation Team members knew. No one else in this school knew, nor did his own mother.

There was a grin on Eikichi's face.

"Tch. You know all too well what Persona is." Unfortunately for Kanji, Eikichi was really, really good at picking up people lying or trying to hide the truth (except his old man but that was the typical issue in his friends). "I'm from 1999. Guess we managed to do it right, if there's users after us. Now why don't know nothing 'bout the old man or the Velvet Room...I don't get it." He shrugged.

"Maybe it just got weird later." Mysteries. "If you didn't get them by playing the Persona game, how'd you do it? Always figured Philemon was the only one handing them out."

He was still reluctant to say anything. He thought about Naoto and her undercover operation here, and anything he said could jinx that. Not only that, but he didn't want the wrong people to acquire that power... People like Adachi.

"How do I know I can trust you, huh?"

He folded his arms and narrowed his eyes, symbolically closing himself off.

Besides, he really didn't want to talk about the bathhouse.
