Dorm Log The Sequel To End All Sequels

Where: Student and Teacher dorms, and quite possibly beyond campus. If your heart dreams it, your fingers can type it.
When: The span of February 27 - March 13
Warnings: This log is yellow-taped with all kinds of potential warnings. If your filthy imagination can conjure it, this log can produce it.

Ripped off the last one and all its friends: Basically, here's how this works. We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment, but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!

Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Whatever you want. It can all be yours if you make a thread. Feel like drawing graffiti on Professor Jin's door? Apologizing for the aftermath of the latest cupidbot fiasco? Doing each others' hair and talking about boys? Giving your trusted(?!?) friends a free ride in the dryer? Staying up late at night making use of those dick-shaped cake pans you found in the cupboard? Man, I don't care, just do it! Don't let this log get away untagged.

"Anything of note o'er there?" she asked curiously as he mentioned the town.

"News are kind of restricted 'round here... I have a feeling it's mostly them human stations that are withholding infermation..."

She shrugged, not wanted to get down right now. "Really? Can't say Ah've met Blake, but Blue's a total sweetheart."

"Well, he told me about the differences between it and Sinnoh. More temperate, more nature - forests and a volcano. Hot springs, which I know you'll like. I also spoke to a Gardevoir by the name of Voile - I believe you've met. She mentioned the contest hall in Lillycove city, which sounds interesting."

He shrugged and bit into another burger. "I've not yet met Blue, but I also met her Arcanine, Jock. And apparently she also has a Charizard."

"Oh yeah! Voile is ... well... was Sonny's girlfriend back when he was still 'round." she said a bit bittersweetly.

She quickly gasped though when he mentioned the last part.

"She does?! Ah didn't know she had a Charizard too!"

"Ah, I see. Didn't mention that to me, not that I knew Sonny well."

Or 'Fat hairy man-child' as Jon used to refer to him mentally.

"She does. I might have chat with her and see if she has any tips on Charizard care. I've read as many books as I can, but we're both new at this so I'd like to see if her prctical experience can yield any new information."

"Well he was real nice... Ah miss him honestly." she replied with a small smile. Sonny was a great friend and he introduced her to spicy doritos.

"Green an' Red have Charizards too!" she exclaimed happily. "Maybe you can chat with all 'a them."

"Ah. Well, perhaps he'll be back some day. He was trained by someone here as I recall so it's a possibility."

If it meant Riwane's happiness, Jon was fine with it for that reason if no other. Walking into the cafeteria after that giant mess of a man was always more than a little frustrating. Well, if you wanted to get something to eat, anyway.

"I see I made a popular choice - Well, from what I know, Green is a Gym Leader, Red was the League Champ and Blue has a great number of badges. No wonder working with you as my partner is such a joy, eh?"

"If he did, that'd be real cool!" She could show him all the cool new stuff she has learned and how she has grown!

At his latter comment, she giggled and gave him a thumbs up. "A'course! Ain't anythin' better than us Charizards!" she proclaimed proudly, smiling brightly at the idea.

"Be that as it may, we shant rest on the laurels of your species being either spectacular nor popular. You up for some training this afternoon, then? I believe I scented a few strong Pokemon in the foothills of the mountains out back should you be interested in some sparring partners. Nidoran evolutions - Final evolutions."

He found the names for them a little misleading, though - there was nothing really regal about an overgrown rabbit playing at being a muddy, poisonous rhinocerous. And considering the female ones couldn't even breed, he found it an odd choice to name them Kings and Queens.

"When have Ah ever turned down trainin'?!" she said excitedly. "We can go git some trainin' all afternoon an' night an' maybe we can camp out?" Because she just loved camping out with Jon!

"Alright - sounds like a good plan to me. Been a while since we camped out or had any real time away from this barmy bloody city and the school. Time alone together, at least." he said with a nod. Surely the Humans could be without something to chase for one evening.

"Aye aye!" she exclaimed happily as she finished up and got up from the bed. She started gathering some things and placing them in a duffel bag.

"Oh man, Ah can't wait! This'll be great!"

"Should be fairly fun, yes. What's your first class, anyway? Something you can skip?"

Because if they didn't have to come back too early, why would they? Any of Jon's classes could be skipped easily enough. He really didn't mind.

"Ain't got a mornin' class tomorrow so we should be fine." she replied as if she already knew what he was thinking. Frankly, she had thought about it herself, which is why she had packed a bit of extra things anyways.

"Perfect. We can wander back in about nine thirty or so, get washed up and presentable for afternoon classes." Jon replied with a nod. "That is, if we work hard enough this evening to decide we deserve something of a lie in."

"Like we ever take it easy," Riwane mused as she grabbed her bag and shouldered it.

"Wonderin' if we're gunna work hard enuff is like wonderin' if we're gunna breathe." she said with a hearty laugh before winking.

"Let's git this show on tha road shall we?"

"Lets."

Jon shouldered his now markedly more empty duffle bag and started to head out the door. It had a few useful supplies in it - toothbrush, shaving kit, that kind of thing. He'd wondered if the trip out might have become an overnight thing and so threw them in there just in case.

"Grab whatever gear you want to bring with and I'll meet you in the hall."

"Whut? Ah'm already ready silly!" she replied with a giggle.

"Let's hit that dusty trail!"

"Alright - travelling light is a good quality to have." he replied, closing the door once she'd exited, and starting down the hall. He draped his tail over the small of her back and stuck his hands in his pockets.

Riwane smiled and leaned against him.

The trip to the selected spot would be filled with the teenage ramblings of an actively social girl.

Hope you don't mind a sore ear by the time you reach the spot Jon!

While it was true he had very sensitive ears, Jon didn't mind listening to her chatter. And he'd chime in every so often where pertinent with an 'Oh?' or a 'Who, now?' or a 'Hmph.' or sometimes even an 'Oh, I see.'. He was actively listening, even if his commentary was short and monosyllabic - She just knew more people than him and he had little input to give, even if he was happy to hear she was getting out and about more. It was good for a girl her age to have more friends than just one grumpy older guy who hated everyone. OK, well, maybe not hated, but generally avoided.

"We're getting near - did you want to find a place to make base camp first or did you want to train first, hunt for a spot later?"

You're input is always appreciated Moonshine, no matter how monosyllabic it is!

"Let's git camp down an' outta tha way, that way we can focus on trainin' till we're achin'" she said with a smirk.

"Alright - solid plan."

Jon dropped his duffel bag and gave a stretch before starting to case the area for good 'around the compfire' rocks and bits of firewood.

"Didn't bring any sleeping gear with - Still. We can make a pile of softer leaves and grasses easily enough. And I'll happily serve as your pillow."

"Didn't think we'd need sleepin' gear! We're children of tha woods! Primal creatures! The world is our oyster!" she exclaimed with a bit of exaggeration before laughing.

"Saw it in a movie, Ah think it applies to all us fighters who love tha outdoors s'much as we do."

"That and those of us who're used to spending time in the wild due to being monsters." Jon replied with a smirk. He was no stranger to the pile of leaves or the small cave or the large tree branch. Though, most of those weren't made for two.

Riwane chuckled. "Eyup, but nowadays that term kinda lost its meanin' at least in tha way most think 'bout it. Ah'd say tha monsters are based more n' attitude all things considered."
