Dorm Log The Sequel To End All Sequels
Who: COLLECTIVE YOU
What: Dorm log!
Where: Student and Teacher dorms, and quite possibly beyond campus. If your heart dreams it, your fingers can type it.
When: The span of February 27 - March 13
Warnings: This log is yellow-taped with all kinds of potential warnings. If your filthy imagination can conjure it, this log can produce it.
Ripped off the last one and all its friends: Basically, here's how this works. We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment, but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!
Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Whatever you want. It can all be yours if you make a thread. Feel like drawing graffiti on Professor Jin's door? Apologizing for the aftermath of the latest cupidbot fiasco? Doing each others' hair and talking about boys? Giving your trusted(?!?) friends a free ride in the dryer? Staying up late at night making use of those dick-shaped cake pans you found in the cupboard? Man, I don't care, just do it! Don't let this log get away untagged.

BW-17 - Eirika (and Lyra! ♥)
So rather than being in her room...
Eirika was likely every other place. The town's variety of shops. The academy halls, classrooms, library. It was surprisingly easy to catch an eye on something unfamiliar and simply stare - whether it was a conversation between people, or something being sold. This was like an entirely different world, and almost everything was foreign. And she must have looked minutely foolish.
Whatever the case might have been, Eirika stood out. Painfully so. Regalia from head to toe, even when she wasn't donning her armour, she carried her rapier with her, an old habit that was bound to die hard. At least until she felt she was perfectly safe. And even then, she had a feeling she'd still keep it as her closest companion.

But there were the times that she had to come back at the end of the day, once the sun started to set. Until Lyra returned, she spent her time usually standing in wait in a section of the room, or, on the uncommon occasions, looking at tidbits that were in there: a book, an object, touching it carefully with the end of her pincer.
A meeting inside of the room was not to be unexpected, nor would perhaps a meeting outside where Flynn spent most of her time. If not in the stadium, then in the fields. Being dressed in armour was perhaps as much of an unusual sight as a giant, steel-red creature - unless you knew about Pokemon, of course, or had been in the academy enough.
Would this figure catch Eirika's attention?
no subject
Crossing paths with Flynn had been entirely coincidental and considering Eirika was completely unaware of Lyra's 'occupation,' the teal-haired princess was more than a little surprised. But only slightly less so than she had been in meeting three talking animals, and a boy who resembled an animal of sorts. Shadow's explanation of the academy being a 'hub' for multiple worlds certainly made the presence of these creatures make a little more sense, but it didn't completely disrupt Eirika's uncertainties with who was and was not trustworthy.
A momentary pause and it was her room she'd entered. Shared room, at any rate. Dusting herself off, her posture remained as tall as she could make herself out to be (which admittedly wasn't much). "I... apologise. Am I interrupting?" Because the gods forbid she be interrupting someone else in her quarters...
no subject
Regardless, the Pokemon stood and stared at observed her for a moment's time, looking back up to Eirika's face before she eventually gave a simple response of, "...Scizor."
no subject
Her teal eyebrows furrowed as she stared at Flynn a few moments longer. Then she tentatively motioned to herself, "I am Eirika, Princess of Renais." A pause and then as she closed the door, her posture straightened, "I am Miss Lyra's living companion. I only recently arrived. You must be a friend of hers."
What did people do when they met one another? Eirika's history of introductions usually involved people bowing or curtseying to her, but the people in the academy were very different and she still wasn't sure how to interpret all of that.
no subject
And this introduction- it didn't cross the Scizor's mind to attempt at all to give her own name. It was usually a loss cause, and it had only been in her time with Lyra that she had 'owned' a name at all. She had been with the girl for quite a long time now, but to how many others had she thought to give it to?
She looked at Eirika, with nothing to give to her but silence. But a previous encounter with a human came to her mind, where an introduction was made. To make the meeting "official"...
Perhaps abruptly, the Scizor stuck one of her pincers straight out, closed and in front of Eirika. She eyed her, and said in a rather strong voice, "Scizor."
no subject
What if this... odd creature in red had eaten Lyra? The thought was a little ridiculous in hindsight because Eirika couldn't imagine someone like that being allowed into such an area. Or allowed to stay in the area. Innes' reminder rung true in her mind, however. She would need to watch herself. It also wasn't impossible for someone less than savoury to come from Magvel simply for the sake of cornering her.
And it wouldn't have been hard to do.
Hesitantly, she finally moved to mirror Flynn. One hand moved out and not really sure what else to say, Eirika followed in suit. "Scizor."
no subject
But maybe not as good as she could, when, after a moment, she made a bashing motion in the air, each singular and separate, as if timed, and said again in a more harsher and louder voice, "SciZOR."
no subject
Lyra had thought that might be the case today too; she'd been busy with a trip to the FDC Poke Mart to stock up on trainer essentials, but a sale on Pokedolls had meant she'd stayed out longer than she'd planned to. With her bag crammed full of Revives and Full Heals (and maybe a stuffed animal or two for her collection), she'd hurried home as quick as she could -- Flynn was probably waiting for her!
Lyra didn't expect Eirika to be home when she bustled through the door; she let out a surprised little "oh" when she walked in to find roomie and Scizor face to face, sticking their hands out like they were trying for some kind of awkward fistbump. Surprise quickly gave way to delight, though, once she clued in about what was going on. "Hey, you guys are making friends already?" Lyra blurted, smiling from ear to ear.
no subject
Lyra's entrance immediately caught Eirika's attention. Her posture straightened, one hand behind her back and the other crossed over her chest. In a way, it was almost like she was standing at attention when being called up for departing from camp. As if she began to remember her actual position, however, she kept a proper composure - if not glaringly regal - and inclined her head politely.
"I think I am sooner becoming a frustration," she admitted with a reserved smile. "M..." Miss Lyra? Lady Lyra? How complicated. "Lyra, I presume?" She cast a glance over to Flynn curiously, to see if the odd insect creature would confirm or deny.
no subject
"Scizor," the Pokemon spoke to answer Lyra. Her voice wasn't as harsh as it had just been, but still there was a trace of annoyance in the negative tone. Making friends? Hardly; her attempt at "officially meeting" the person was nothing short of a failure. Refusing to humiliate herself any further, the Scizor moved from Eirika and went to stand by Lyra's bedside, looking over to the trainer once more before off into another direction, to allow the two to speak. She didn't want to have to linger on the actions that just took place, and so she had nothing to add.
So just ignore the big red sulking insect, okay.
no subject
"Yep, that's me!" she told Eirika. "Welcome to the school! Um... one quick sec, okay? I'm gonna check on Flynn real quick. That's her name, by the way. Flynn." She was already gravitating over to Flynn's side to soothe her Scizor; it was trainer instinct that made it hard to ignore when their Pokemon were unhappy. She could only try to guess what had gone on in her absence. Probably not an argument or anything like that, because Flynn might have taken that as a suggestion to fight. This was a bit too sharp for her usual stoicness, too. "Feeling hurt?" Lyra asked softly, leaning in close so Flynn wouldn't have to answer out loud -- she had her pride, after all.
no subject
How did a hand hear, anyway? Much less, how did one even speak?
She watched the exchange between Lyra and Flynn for a few moments before she did what she thought was best and averted her gaze. Instead, she found herself looking at the more barren half of Lyra's room - the side that she assumed would be hers. She'd had no plans of a long stay at the academy, but perhaps it wouldn't be absolutely horrible to decorate it at least a little.
