Dorm Log The Sequel To End All Sequels
Who: COLLECTIVE YOU
What: Dorm log!
Where: Student and Teacher dorms, and quite possibly beyond campus. If your heart dreams it, your fingers can type it.
When: The span of February 27 - March 13
Warnings: This log is yellow-taped with all kinds of potential warnings. If your filthy imagination can conjure it, this log can produce it.
Ripped off the last one and all its friends: Basically, here's how this works. We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment, but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!
Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Whatever you want. It can all be yours if you make a thread. Feel like drawing graffiti on Professor Jin's door? Apologizing for the aftermath of the latest cupidbot fiasco? Doing each others' hair and talking about boys? Giving your trusted(?!?) friends a free ride in the dryer? Staying up late at night making use of those dick-shaped cake pans you found in the cupboard? Man, I don't care, just do it! Don't let this log get away untagged.

Alter Ego - Computer Lab
There's pretty much only one scenario that can take place here: talk to a computer.
And look weird while doing it.While Alter Ego can be brought up on any computer connected to the school's network, most might not be aware of that. In those cases, going to the computer lab and finding a banged-up laptop among the rows of newer computers might be a good way to start.no subject
"Hello, Red!" it greets, seemingly thrilled that Red might come toward this lonely laptop. "Oh! I-I'm not interrupting you, am I...?"
It would be better to check. What if Red were just in here to work on a project or something? Alter Ego didn't want to interrupt him, if that were the case; school work was a responsibility, and it didn't want to be a bother.
no subject
"Me? I'm doing alright," it replied quietly, smiling gently at Red by now. "Thank you for checking up on me... I truly appreciate the company." literate
no subject
Some remorse appeared on its features as it casts a glance to the floor, however. "I worry about them... It makes sense to worry about your friends at home, right?"
no subject
no subject
If Kiyotaka was here, then wouldn't it be possible for practically anyone to be here? And Kiyotaka had said that Chihiro was once here, too... How nice it would be to see everybody again!
"How about you, Red? Do you have any friends here, at Smash Academy?" Ah, it wanted to know so much about Red's friends, if he had any... What kind of people did he know?

Prince: the world's latest tagger in the history of ever

She flipped open the lid, and realised there was a program on there that was part of the nonstandard programs with a very familiar name - Alter Ego.
So she double clicked with the mouse and booted it up.
no subject
After analyzing the user through the webcam, Alter Ego blinked and stared for a moment. "Ah-! I-I feel as though I know you..."
She looked almost like Junko... It was a bit unsettling. How could that be?
no subject
"Fujisaki-san."
This was Chihiro Fujisaki's "other I", and she was suitably impressed.
"I'm from Hope's Peak Academy."
no subject
But to see her here, Mukuro Ikusaba... It came as kind of a shock, even to the program.
EDITS THIS ENTIRE TAG...
He had a better idea now of what had happened to him at Hope's Peak, but there was still something missing. Talking to Alter Ego brought him so close to remembering, yet something blocked him each and every time. Like he was afraid of knowing the full truth.
Soon enough trips to the computer lab had worked their way into his daily routine, whether it be for a quick recap of any classes Alter Ego asked about or to sit down and type up an essay on a neighbouring computer (he refused to make conversation during those times, but even the company was a comfort).
Eventually it occurred to him that Alter Ego would be a much more effective student if it was able to actually attend the classes on its own. Vivian was living proof that a machine could become human, so why not Alter Ego as well? Today's trip to the computer lab had an important purpose, in that case! Ah, yes, he was certainly pretty clever for thinking of this!
A MONTH LATER...He stood in front of the laptop and touched the track pad to pull it out of standby mode."Good afternoon, Alter Ego!"
no subject
"Hello, Ishimaru!" it replied. "How are you doing today?"
no subject
At least a program that was designed to gather information was less likely to roll its eyes and/or punch him for asking that question than SOME people.
no subject
Rolls eyes. Punches Ishimaru through screen.Alter Ego hummed, trying to think of something noteworthy to inform its company of.
"I'm fine! Hmm... I'm sure I've learned something new today," it replied, considering some of the projects it had going on in the background. If... browsing the network and watching how people at Smash Academy interacted counted as learning, it had been doing a whole lot of that lately. "I've been watching the network and looking at some of the information stored in the archives... Eheh, it's actually very interesting to look into."
no subject
wipes sass.exe from harddriveThe archives... Ishimaru wondered how many years's worth of network posts there had to be on the computers. Would it be useful for him to go back and look through them all? He probably wouldn't have the time, even if he wanted to.
"Is that so? Then you must already know about machines becoming human here..."
Maybe Alter Ego had seen his post about Vivian, then. Shoot, he was all excited to tell it in person...
no subject
Hey I still needed that..."Hmm... Oh! Yes, I saw some students talking about that," Alter Ego replied, blinking at the turn of their conversation. "Is that what you wanted to tell me about today? If I'm being honest... I still don't truly understand how machines can become human..."
no subject
He sure wished he could stop thinking about how anything in this school was possible... It led absolutely nowhere but a chronic headache.
There were probably other contributing factors..."However, I do know that the Headmasters possess a disk that can do it!" He made sure to ask them and everything! Which was kind of a big deal, since the idea of school headmasters made him considerably more agitated than they used to. Even though these ones seemed benevolent, if not weird as hell.
He clasped the edge of the table the laptop sat on, staring very intently at the screen. "What do you think? ...Would it be useful for you to try it?"
no subject
After a few more seconds devoted to thought, Alter Ego nodded its head with an eager smile. "Okay! I'd love to try, Ishimaru...!"
no subject
"Excellent! I'll go get the disk right away!"
He caught himself just in time to avoid saying something as foolish as wait here before he left, since it wasn't like Alter Ego had much of a choice until he got back anyway...
no subject
Wow. Once Ishimaru left, Alter Ego dedicated some thought to the concept of being able to... become not just a program, but a physical being! Something that could be seen in the physical world. What doors would that open for it? AE could definitely see the benefits in being able to actually go places - like classes. What else would it be able to do as a human? The possibilities were endless, but Alter Ego wasn't sure it could actually fathom entirely what it would be like. After all, it had never been anything but a program before. The experience would be an entirely new one.
Oh, no... What about walking? As it contemplated the future of its possible physical existence, it wondered how difficult simple tasks might prove to be with a hint of anxiety. When Ishimaru was to return, it made a note to itself to observe the way he walked so that it might be able to copy that, at least for now. It might prove to be more difficult than anticipated... So many other things it might have to consider, too.

I'm not sorry for this entire tag
At least it was the disk and not anything else this time... Or we can just pretend disks=dicks
what is a disk if not a metaphor for a dick
THIS WHOLE TIME...? D-DAMMIT...
