When: The span of February 27 - March 13
Warnings: This log is yellow-taped with all kinds of potential warnings. If your filthy imagination can conjure it, this log can produce it.

Ripped off the last one and all its friends: Basically, here's how this works. We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment, but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!

Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Whatever you want. It can all be yours if you make a thread. Feel like drawing graffiti on Professor Jin's door? Apologizing for the aftermath of the latest cupidbot fiasco? Doing each others' hair and talking about boys? Giving your trusted(?!?) friends a free ride in the dryer? [...which she doesn't fancy staying in 'cause she's terrified of her roommate. You'll most likely find her out by the lake, where she's normally hiding out and relaxing in. Sometimes she'll be lurking around the library or greenhouse (secretly trying to water the plants). Basically, you'll find her in secluded areas where she may or may not be able to people-watch.]

[He'd be wondering how his fish frilled aquaintance had been faring since last they spoke. He spotted her down at the lake and padded over toward the shore.]

[Chiyo was simply floating in the lake and raised her head when she heard Jon call out to her. She went up to the shore to meet him with an awkward smile and nod.]

Hello Jon, I've been fairing well. Thank you for asking. It's thanks to this lake that I've been settling in just fine.

[Her tail gave a flick of happiness. Being near and in water had that affect on her.]

How have you been?

Well, it helps to have a place you can feel at home, eh? For me, that would be the wood over the way.

[He inclined his tail in the direction of the forest, and came to sit on all fours near the edge of the lake.]

I've been keeping well enough. Not much to report. Good to know you're settling in, though.

The woods are nice. I tend to go for a walk through them whenever I'm not swimming.

[She glanced at the lake and then back at Jon.]

Do you like to swim?

I don't mind it. In my homeland, natural water ways tend to be quite chilly, so, I'll admit it isn't a habit I picked up.

[He padded close to the water's edge and gave the water an experimental sniff.]

"Why? You suggesting I join you?

If you would like to!

[She was asking out of curiosity at first, but swimming with a friend would be nice. She never had many opportunities to do so, so she started feeling excited at the idea.]

Or we can just take a walk or simply chat. Either way is fine with me.

[He gave the water another sniff - it was at least more pleasant smelling than the water at the pool. And he was already wearing a pair of cut-off shorts - the perfect pair of bathing trunks.

He bunched his hindlegs, then jumped forward, his hands meeting in front to lessen the splash from his dive.]

Here we go.

[She followed suit, gracefully diving into the water and swimming after him. It was exhilarating having someone swim with you, she realized. Smiling brightly, she swam along happily and was content with doing so until...

...she suddenly felt playfully competitive. Having never swam with anything other than fish, Chiyo wondered who might be faster. Of course, she had never been surpassed in speed before, so the idea of racing seemed wonderfully interesting and fun. So, keeping up pace with Jon, she, without warning, paused in front of him briefly, flashed him a rather kittenish smile, and sped away ahead of him. Her heart speeding along equally as fast.]

It is A-OK! \o/

Jon smirked underwater. So... she wanted to race, did she? Well, he could hardly turn her down being he was a competitive person too.

His feet started to kick and his hands spread out, pushing water aside as he tried to follow.

...however, while he might have been able to swim faster than some humans just due to his strength? His body was hardly hyrdodynamic. All that hair held him back and he was kind of bulky in all the wrong places. The opposite of a torpedo.

Sorry, Chiyo - you may not find this as much of a challenge as you'd like.

After some time, Chiyo realized that something wasn't quite going the way she expected so she glanced back and was surprised to see Jon in his state. She stopped momentarily, almost letting out a small laugh (not one in which would be derisive of him, but more of a, "Oh, why hadn't I noticed his fur would be a bit of a problem in the water?"). She did smile in amusement, though, watching him swim the way he did, and decided to go back to him.

As she reached him, she swam once around him jovially before heading up towards the surface. Technically, she didn't need to go to the surface, for she could breathe underwater, but thinking that Jon probably didn't have the same capability to do so, it would be best to give him a chance to get some air. She wasn't really willing to put his breath-holding skills to the test just to get in more swim time. Plus, it'd be nice to chat with him in the water, too. She also kind of wanted to apologize for challenging him like that. It seemed a little unfair on her part.

XD Half of Jon's wolf icons are some level of horrifying.

Jon let go of a stream of bubbles as he saw her head to the top. He wasted no time in following, his head breaching the lake's choppy surface as he took in a deep breath.

"Bloody hell - you're like a little rocket under there, aren't you? I never stood a chance."

And it was true - while she was built to be a water cutting dynamo under the waves? His body was far more suited to land travel.

"If I ever get the chance, I'm going to introduce you to an... aquaintance of mine who goes to another school. Rikuo would get a real kick out of you, I'd bet."

Being that he was a Merman and also kitted out to be a speed machine underwater, perhaps she'd find in him a worthy opponent. Unlike Jon, who was just a soaking wet embarrassment at this point!

[ Chiyo was wandering around, trying to get used to walking with human legs, when she saw the familiar cap of red. Gasping in surprise, she quickly moved as best she could behind the nearest tree to get a better look at the young lad.

It's Red.... she thought to herself as she recognized him, eyes widening in excitement. Should she go up to him? One of the biggest reasons she took the TM to become a human was to be able to talk to him in the same language. He's also the nicest human she's met since coming here, so it made learning to humanize less of a horrible idea. ]

Ah...

[ She clamped her mouth shut and turned red. What if approaching him as a human was a bad idea? Last time, she was a Pokemon when they met. Maybe he wouldn't like her as a human. Maybe approaching him as a Pokemon would be the best way to go. Chiyo couldn't help but to overwhelm herself with negativity. She really didn't want to make any bad impressions with Red, but she really wanted to show him her human form, her recent achievement, and have a proper conversation with him.

She shook her head in an attempt to shake away the negativity. No, no... Red is a nice person.... she tried to reassure herself as she took slow, anxious steps towards Red. Unconsciously bringing up one hand to her chest in insecurity, she drew in a shaky breath as she stopped behind the bench he was seated on. ]

H-Hello Red....

[ Her heart starting beating faster in nervousness as she wondered how he would receive her. And she trembled from the tip of her fin-like ears to the tip of her tail. ]

I'm the... the vaporeon from the other day.... My name is Chiyo.

[Blushing, Chiyo nodded meekly.]

Yes... [she said softly with an equally soft smile. He didn't seem surprised by her transformation, which confirmed the fact that Pokemon learning to transform into humans was common on campus.] A-Actually... the d-day we met was my first day at school. I-I was just... really lost and scared. Oh, but! I'm, I'm not lost so much anymore! ...j-just still a bit scared, though.

[She remained standing in her spot, feeling a little bit awkward and wondering if she could come closer or not. She was still too nervous and shy to ask if sitting next to him was okay, too.]

[ Chiyo nodded eagerly, unable to stop a smile from spreading on her lips. ]

Yes.

[ She quickly padded on over and, though a tad bit nervous, plopped herself down onto the bench beside him. She did her best to keep her posture perfect with her back straight, legs together with her feet planted firmly on the ground, and her hands on her lap. Humming a bit, she racked her brain for something to say but couldn't come up with anything she deemed remarkably interesting.

I hope... I don't seem boring to him. she thought, and curiously glanced over at him. ]

Um... Have you... Have you been well? [ Perhaps starting with something simple and polite would be best. At least, she certainly hoped so. She did wonder how he had been since they last met. ]

I'm doing well!

[ Chiyo smiled bashfully, feeling happy at his compliment and to have an ongoing conversation with him. ]

I-I met some really nice people and, and they helped me feel more at home here. I'm... really glad I came here.

Ah.... [ Chiyo recalled the way their last meeting ended and could understand why he would be worried. She looked down for a moment, feeling embarrassed and regretful for having to make him worry and for troubling him. ]

I-I'm... really sorry. About last time.... [ She turned red again, reflecting back on her behavior at the time where she moped. ] I was depressing... It must've t-troubled you. So sorry....

[ She paused momentarily, before recalling something and looking back up at him again, making sure to make eye contact with him. ]

B-But, if it wasn't for you, I don't think I could be as relaxed as I am now! R-Really, thank you... for being so kind.

[ Chiyo was relieved to hear that and almost couldn't believe him when he said that. She felt happy, nevertheless, that he would consider fun company to have and even lightened up at the mention of the book. She couldn't stop herself from smiling as she recalled all the details of the maps and the time spent going through it with Red. ]

I did. I really love books. [ She smiled happily. ] I especially... l-love having someone to read with. T-Thank you. For sharing your book with me....
