Dorm Log The Sequel To End All Sequels

Where: Student and Teacher dorms, and quite possibly beyond campus. If your heart dreams it, your fingers can type it.
When: The span of February 27 - March 13
Warnings: This log is yellow-taped with all kinds of potential warnings. If your filthy imagination can conjure it, this log can produce it.

Ripped off the last one and all its friends: Basically, here's how this works. We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment, but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!

Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Whatever you want. It can all be yours if you make a thread. Feel like drawing graffiti on Professor Jin's door? Apologizing for the aftermath of the latest cupidbot fiasco? Doing each others' hair and talking about boys? Giving your trusted(?!?) friends a free ride in the dryer? Staying up late at night making use of those dick-shaped cake pans you found in the cupboard? Man, I don't care, just do it! Don't let this log get away untagged.

Riwane finally smiled a little. "Ah know ya will Moonshine, thank you."

She felt a bit better after the chat and maybe now they could enjoy their evening!

"No need to thank me, silly. It's what I do."

Now that the fire place was ready, he stood up and dusted his paws off on his coat.

"So... figure we'll need anything else to make the evening comfortable? Want to help me gather leaves and grass enough to sleep on?"

"Naw, Ah think whut we need is a nice big meal at this point." she added with a grin.

"F'ya can manage that." she teased, sticking her tongue out at him playfully.

"If I can manage that... does the sun manage to rise in the ast, then? Gimme a few."

He dropped to all fours and sprinted away, nose quivering in the wind and he searched for a fresh scent that would lead him to prey. And it didn't take too long - Scents were easier to track in the mountains.

He was back inside of fifteen minutes, a small boar dangling from his jaws. Well, small as boars went, but still large enough to provide them both with a good deal of meat.

With a flick of his head, he sent it rolling over the rock and gravel toward her.

"How's that, then?"

Riwane snickered as he set off, wondering if he had taken the bait or was just playing along with her. Sometimes it was hard to tell with him since he prided himself in his hunting skills, it was easier to goad him into a hunt than anything else.

Once he was back, she smiled brightly and clapped. "I guess it's no Dodongo, but it'll do." she laughed as she recalled their first hunt together.

"Well, I'd not want to deplete the Dodongo population, after all. We need those to survive and breed for future hunts."

....that and there were none in the nearby mountains but he didn't want to sound like he was making excuses.

"Here, instead of being cheeky, why not bring your cheeks over here and help me get this fire lit, eh? I assume you've been gathering firewood while I was otherwise indisposed?"

Riwane snickered and shrugged, "Aww, maybe next time." she mused as she puffed her cheeks.

A moment later, they had a nice hot bonfire.

"Easy as pickin' berries!"

"So - have you picked any berries, then?" Jon asked with a little smirk, before pulling out his knife and starting to dress the pig.

"Actually, yeah! Ah have! Ah've been trying out all tha different kinds a' berries used in poffins! Ah even cooked some for Valentine's for a few friends!"

[whirlwind_wolfman]

"Learning to cook, eh? Well, that's news. I'll have to sample your wares at some point. You may even get me to eat berries or vegetables or... whatever else it is you young folk eat nowadays if you ask me nice enough."

....Fine, so, he'd eat whatever she made just becasue it was her. But he was physically incapable of admitting something like that too readily!

"Ha! Y'know Ah can't stay away from meat! Ah was jus' learnin' 'bout berries so Ah can make poffins fer mah friends s'all. If ya want a meal, Ah can cook ya one next time ya pass by tha room!"

[whirlwind_wolfman]

"I'd be happy to eat anything you cooked, really." he admitted quietly with a small shrug as he poked at the fire with a stick. "Though, this pig ought to be fairly tasty, regardless."

Having finished the basic gutting and removal of skin with too much hair to be pleasantly edible, he started to work it onto a spit and pile rocks so that it could sit there and cook.

"Aww, Ah'll try n' nawt disappoint then! Ah've been gettin' better though, an' cookin' seems like a lotta fun as ya learn more ways ta make things."

She had been learning from online recipe sites and other sources which had some fun dishes she could get behind.

She licked her chompers and grinned, looking at the meal mighty hungrily.

"I'm relatively easy to please so I doubt you'd dissapoint with your efforts - You know me well enough by now to know that, I'd hope."

He smiled at her before setting the pig carefully over the fire. The skin immediately started to darken and crackle. Perfect.

"So, this fellow has a while to go before being done. What would you like to do in the meantime?"

"Hm, Ah kinda lost m' drive ta train rite now... How 'bout we jus' take tha moment ta jus' chill? If that's alrite with ya that is."

Frankly, all that talk earlier made her want more time to simply enjoy being alive.

"Alright. I s'pose the giant rhino-bunnies can wait an evening to get their arses handed to them. But we train in the morning either way, alright?"

He had no problem with relaxing this evening, being as she seemed upset and everything. But he didn't want to miss out on the opportunity to test her skills against a more powerful opponent than they'd had lately.

"Sounds good ta me Moonshine. Wouldn't want ya thinkin' I got soft or sumtin'."

She sighed and looked over the fire before smiling. "Ah think Ah'll feel bettah once Ah git mah chompers on that food."

"Alright - sounds good. And I know you're not soft. Well, not entirely, anyway."

There were certain sections of her that were soft, certainly!

"The pig is going to take some time to cook - Even I don't generally nosh on raw pork. I wish I'd bought some salt, though. Always better with salt."

"Aw shucks, Ah guess nuthin' can be done 'bout that. Ah'll jus' have ta wait ta git mah nice meal on." she replied a bit defeated.

Falling back on the ground, she placed her arms behind her head, put one leg over the other and relaxed as she looked up at the sky.

"Think things will go back ta normal Moonshine?"

"Assume so. Someone will step in and do something eventually."

He didn't necessarily believe this entirely - as he'd said, this was a return to normality for him so a return to 'Final Destination Normality' would be a little odd.

"Oi, you ever go to the Ethics class with Cyrus?"

Riwane shook her head. "No, not really... Ah was told by a good handful of people nawt ta trust 'im so Ah haven't enrolled in any of his classes ta be honest. Why?" she asked curiously.

[whirlwind_wolfman]

"Hmm... he's pretty caught up in all this business. Not physically. I mean it just takes up a lot of his class and the things he talks about on the network. Not sure why the folk you've spoken to distrust him, but I've about three people in the entire world I trust and he's not one of them. Force of habit."

Nothing personal.

"He's actually been helpful to me, however. He's a trainer from Sinnoh and knows more than a fair bit about Pokemon. Gave me some good recommended reading and the like. In any case, he says it's up to use to change things... says we all have a responsibility to set this to rights. Not so clear on the methods, but says we all ought to be doing something."

"Something? Doing something has almost gotten a few killed... Ah don't know what we're supposed to do, but Ah agree, something needs to be done... What exactly? Well... Even Ah dun got a clue and Ah'm usually good at them things on the fly."

"I told him it was up to Humankind to sort out their disfunction. I said it could be helped by certain folk... I did mention you. You know. The sunny ones, the ones who've a mind to get along with everyone. Big, bad wolves like me would simply make things worse, I fear. But lasses like you? You'd do more good than harm any day oif the week."

"You really think Ah help that much by jus' bein' me Moonshine?"

She hadn't really thought about it before. The old farm lady always taught them to keep your chin up, keep a smile on your face and things would be alright... but she didn't know if that would help with what was happening in FDC recently.
