Dorm Log The Sequel To End All Sequels

Where: Student and Teacher dorms, and quite possibly beyond campus. If your heart dreams it, your fingers can type it.
When: The span of February 27 - March 13
Warnings: This log is yellow-taped with all kinds of potential warnings. If your filthy imagination can conjure it, this log can produce it.

Ripped off the last one and all its friends: Basically, here's how this works. We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment, but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!

Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Whatever you want. It can all be yours if you make a thread. Feel like drawing graffiti on Professor Jin's door? Apologizing for the aftermath of the latest cupidbot fiasco? Doing each others' hair and talking about boys? Giving your trusted(?!?) friends a free ride in the dryer? Staying up late at night making use of those dick-shaped cake pans you found in the cupboard? Man, I don't care, just do it! Don't let this log get away untagged.

"Ah..."

He felt bad. Of course he did - how could he not? But they came from very different places and ways of thinking about things. For him, two people was more than enough and he still felt the need for alone time. For her, well - he'd seen her family. It was extensive, warm, close knit.... and why shouldn't she miss that? If it had been his upbringing, chances are he'd miss it too.

"....I'm sorry I'm not enough for you. I mean that. I can understand you being envious of the other Pokémon with larger teams and I'd love to give that to you. But I'll not catch wild Pokémon and my point of view on that front is unlikely to change." He turned the pig over and stoked the fire. "I suppose I could be more forthright about asking trainerless Pokémon if they'd like to spend some time with us... see how well they fit and if they'd enjoy our company. But I can't guarantee that they'll like Me, my training methods or my expectations. Not everyone is as forgiving as you."

"Don't say it like that Moonshine!" she turned immediately, now in tears. "Ah didn't mean it like that... Ya know it! Ya know ya mean a lot to me Ah jus'.... Ah miss it... That's all! Yer special ta me, Ah shouldn't have been a royal brat 'bout it."

And now she was sniffling and cursing to herself for showing weakness and being a bitch. She kept trying to wipe her face with the back of her sleeve but they wouldn't stop, much to her annoyance.

"Oi, calm down." Jon replied quietly, getting up and walking over to place his hand on her shoulder. "I say everything 'like that' in case you'd not noticed. I know I mean a lot to you. You to me, as well."

He did his best to smile at her. "And I said, I understand and I'll see what can be done. I'll not make any promises - I may not be able to keep them if I did."

She didn't say much of anything as she tried to drown out her sorrow. Riwane simply held unto him and hoped that the tears would stop soon or she'd have to 'take a walk' to hide her shame.

He was content to wait until she'd calmed herself. He rested an arm over her shoulders and simply waited in silence. He'd said everything that he could say on the topic - He understood why Pokémon weren't exactly lining up around the block to be a part of their team and that was their right. He'd not force anyone to join him. That just wasn't his way.

Once she finallyt calmed down, she looked up at Jon and smiled a bit awkwardly.

"Ah must look like a wreck huh?" she spoke as she chuckled. "Sorry... Didn't mean to go all weak there hon."

"You look beautiful, as you always do. And there's nothing weak about wanting more out of life. True weakness is to just accept your current status quo and not seek to change it." Jon replied quietly, wiping a tear or two from her cheek with the soft pad of his thumb. "And we'll do what we can to change things more to your liking, alright? If you've anyone in mind to join the team, feel free to chat to them about it and see if you can't get them to come talk to me. I think you may get a more positive response than I would."

Riwane actually blushed, which is somewhat of a rare thing for her to do as she herself was a bit surprised and looked away, trying to play it off by rubbing the back of her head and laughing a little.

"Alrite, fair 'nuff. Ah think Ah'll go ahead an' try that then... Ah jus' wish Rio wasn't havin' so much trouble convincin' gran gran ta let him come to school. At least Ah'd have one team member an' one Ah trust a ton... Even if he is more of a Contest Pokemon than a Pokemon Battle type."

"Well, I'm sure Grandmother has her reasons. But aye, it would be nice if he could come along. And who knows, you might do fairly well as a contest Pokémon yourself if we ever decided to try our hands at it. Those.. ah... those ribbons are hardly Gym Badges but they're still an achievement."

"Whut? Naw, that sorta thing ain't fer me. Ah went to a few of em' with Rio when Gran took him to the contests. He's good, got a few ribbons under his belt, but it jus' didn' feel rite ta me. Ah guess Ah'm too competitive, Ah'd feel Ah'd sooner whoops a fireblast unto the opposing contestant than dazzle tha crowd with ma move!" she joked with a hearty chuckle.

"I can understand that - it's why I'm not so keen on exhibition style martial arts. Style over substance grates on the nerves more than a little."

He tightened his arm over her shoulder.

"Feel better, then?"

Riwane nodded,

"Yeah, lots. Thanks Moonshine."

"Anytime, sunshine." he replied, breaking the contact. "In that case, I'd best get back to Porky over there. He's starting to get a little more than crispy about the belly."

Riwane smiled, "Yeah, Ah mean Ah dun mind a bit of crunch to my meals, but Ah'm not a fan of charcoal for food!" Though she was sure that maybe she would mind it much? Feeding the furnace and all.

Jon just nodded and went to take care of their porky littlke pal, turning it over and giving it a few more stabs with his knife - the juices were running a lot clearer, now.

"He'll not be long." Jon said, taking a seat and patting the ground to his side, indicating she could sit there if she liked.

"Woot! Ah'm ready fur some noms!" she exclaimed as she took a seat next to him.

Looking at the food was making her salivate and she had to lick her chompers as she waited.

Jon dropped an arm over her shoulder and nodded.

"Aye, I'm ready for a good feeding myself. Not that we've done much to earn it this evening... we'll consider it payment in advance for activities due tomorrow morning, I suppose." he joked.

"Hey now, it was a very exhausting evening!" Though she won't admit why...

"Hurry up fire! This gal is famished!"

He just nodded, turning his attention back to the pig and giving it another couple of jabs in the thickest areas. The juics ran clear by firelight, and that was good enough for him!

"Alright - which bits do you want, then?" he asked, grabbing up a hind leg and moving it from the heat.

"All of it!" she cheered happilly before laughing.

"Honestly, a bit ' a everythin' will do jus' rite fur me Moonshine. Ah can't wait ta git mah chompers on dat juicy meat!"

"Alright, how about I just half it down the middle."

He slapped the porker down on the largest, flattest rock and sawed into it with his knife. He kept it sharp enough that it would go through bone if enough pressure was applied. It was a pretty gross noise, though.

What? Silly noises like that had no effect on rumbling tummies! And besides, she loved the sound of sinew ripping as you tore through a nice haunch of meat anyways!

"Fair enuff!"

Soon enough, the porky little morsel was divided longways down the middle. Or roughly, anyway - it was easier to cut through ribs than spine so one side was just a little larger. He gave it to her.

"Alright, luv. Dig in, then. Enjoy. Pass your compliments along to the Chef."

"Yeehaw! Now we're talkin'! Ah bet'cha there won't be a hint 'a meat left once Ah'm done with the lil' porker!"

Riwane readjusted herself in a more comfortable position and began digging in happily. It was clear she was enjoying herself by the bright smile on her face and her concentration on eating.

"I don't doubt that claim even in the slightest."

He moved aside a little bit so that they wouldn't be bumping elbows too much as he dug in too. He was pretty hungry, and his own teeth could saw through soft bone and cartilage just fine. He wasn't about to leave much more than the harder bones. It was pretty tasty - just the right amount of char on it and still plenty juicy in the middle.
