His outstretched fingertips just barely grazed the doorknob as he fell to the ground with an 'oof.' Shoot... so close! Was it really so cowardly to try to escape some sick game he never agreed to? The humiliation of being unable to control his own laughter was bad enough on its own, but to have his manhood insulted on top of that was too much.

Ishimaru was butthurt in every way imaginable.

"Brother..." His voice was low and eerily calm, clashing with how worked up he was. "Just then... you laughed too, didn't you?"

He snorted in response as he rose back to full height, propping the shinai against his shoulder. "Nice try... but the rules say nothing about me laughing!"

There was no denying a dramatic change in Ishimaru's aura. You didn't have to be psychically inclined to detect a serious mood shift especially when it's embedded in a tone of voice, and it made Mondo suspicious. That was some intense spirit burning up in there.

"That doesn't mean I won't invite you to try and hit me back. If you can, that is..."

Part of Ishimaru's responsibilities in keeping order in the school was to also keep his own temper in check. While he was certainly openly passionate about many things, he absolutely refused to solve anything with his fists or to let it show when people were pushing his buttons, instead looking for the most peaceful but effective way to resolve an issue. It was that professionalism that got him recognized by Hope's Peak Academy as best in the nation at what he did, after all.

Here in the privacy of the dorms? It was a completely different story.

He slowly rose to his feet, completely livid. "You... do you think yourself to be above a rule simply because you put it into place?" Ooh, that might have been a bit of a sore spot. His voice rose with every word, its usual stern forcefulness laced with obvious anger. "I won't allow that kind of arrogance and corruption from you, brother!! I'll do whatever it takes to make sure the rules are upheld fairly... If you are a man, you'll accept this punishment with dignity!"

His hand shot out to grasp Mondo's wrist.

"Bend over."

"Just try and make me," he goaded with a challenging grin. "I won't run away."

Mondo may have had size and brute strength on his side, but Ishimaru was smaller, quicker, more disciplined. There were plenty of situations where he had a good chance of gaining the upper hand, and this...

...this was not even close to being one of them.

The wiser thing to do would be to concede, because this battle was not even worth it. But his pride wouldn't let him back down, especially not if Mondo had already successfully pushed a few buttons.

HE SLAMMED. RIGHT INTO HIM.

It's such a shame he wasn't slamming right into someone who didn't have as much size and brute strength as Mondo did. He probably could have knocked him over. But Mondo was anticipating action out of Kiyotaka, and so he was able to react. Instead of taking him head-on, he reclaimed his wrist while stepped back into a sidestep so that, instead of pushing all of his body force into him, he'd send it through thin air and come crashing down to the floor instead.

Naturally, this opened up another perfect opportunity. For his insolence, he got another spanking.

"What was that? Telling me to bend over, then you go ahead and do it instead?"

"You--! I didn't even laugh that time!!"

Now he really was breaking his own rules! Kiyotaka realized that he really didn't have any hope of outrunning or overpowering Mondo, did he? What now? ~~It would be another month before he reawakened the aikido skills he picked up in Hope's Peak specifically because he was fed up with Mondo's bullshit SO...~~

The worst part was the obvious thrill Mondo was getting out of this. Was it out of beating him up, or out of the reaction he was getting? Was that... it? What if he just lay there and completely ignored him? Punks like him only acted out for attention, after all!

Alright. It was time to switch tactics. Kiyotaka turned his face away, glaring at the wall, and ceased struggling.

"You wanted me to just take what you were throwing at me without any retaliation?" replied Mondo as he rose back up, slinging the shinai behind his back. "Forget it. You reap what you sow."

He was having fun toying with him the first time, and the second time was a riot, too. There was something so satisfying about ~~ramming into his ass with a long, hard shaft~~ letting him have it for insulting his sense of humor. But after the fireworks died down and all that was left was Kiyotaka begrudgingly ignoring him, the excitement started to wear off.

"So that's it? You're not gonna try and get me back for that?"

Try and get him back and what, let him humiliate him again? Kiyotaka had to bite his tongue to keep from explaining that he had figured out the secret and that he would not give in because he was better than that and he definitely had the willpower to beat him at his own game and--!

Well. He certainly saved a lot of breath by keeping his mouth shut, that was for sure.

He got back up to his feet and calmly straightened his uniform, though on the inside his blood was still boiling. Studying, he decided, would be useful in three ways: the usual self-improvement, calming himself down, and infuriating Mondo at the same time. He ejected the DVD and placed it back in its case (making a note to return it as soon as possible) before grabbing the nearest textbook.
