Sometimes... Sometimes people just needed things. Basic necessities, food, clothes, video games... Of course, after the big Angry Birds attack a few days ago, it was likely people needed to replace broken things too. (How did that even happen anyway...)

Whatever the reason, the mall was the place to be.

All the cool kids go to the mall!

And some of the uncool ones, too. Lucca had settled in the food court, slurping on a strawberry milkshake while she went over the workbook for one of her new classes. Bother her?

Speaking of cool kids, Shantae caught sight of Lucca studying in the food court. Studying. In the food court. This blasphemy could not go unanswered.

The half-genie sat herself in the seat opposite Lucca, and placed her chin on her hands. "You know, the point of being here is to relax," she pointed out.

Shantae was out shopping. For what? I'm glad you asked. Since this mall didn't stop fighter gear or magic talismans, she made do with some clothes that were a bit more... period appropriate, some accessories for dance classes, junk food...

Care to say hello or carry her bags?

"Hi!" He called, jogging over to Shantae and grinning. "It looks like you've been doing some serious shopping!"

He, likewise, had been picking out some new winter wear. Between putting on a few pounds and making 'Gainzzz' in the weight room, last years sweater was a little tight on him this year. Plus, he realized, it would be useful to have more than one nice sweater.

"Want me to carry your stuff for you?"

Meanwhile, another long haired shorty was staring at clothing racks. Not really picking anything out, just wandering from aisle to aisle, staring at things and looking almost lost. He was here to pick out clothes - or attempt to - but really had no idea what he even liked.

When he spotted Shantae, Zero stared at her silently for a while, trying to observe what her patterns were when it came to shopping. Maybe he could learn from watching her? She seemed pretty experienced.

Blaze was feeling... adventurous. But not the usual adventurous. For her, that word held a whole new meaning. She wanted... to get some casual clothes.

She was attached to her more regal regalia of course, but she felt... light-hearted. She felt like trying to embrace the lifestyle she'd found in FDC. And she had to look the part. But where to even start? What would look good...?

Well, that's what boyfriends and best friends were for, weren't they?

Boyfriends only really have one role in clothes shopping: To stare at lingerie and make meaningful glances to his girlfriend To hold the bags.

However, he isn't complaining. The boredom is worth it to see Blaze happy... and in cool new outfits.

"So... where d'you wanna start?"

"BLAZE! BLAZEBLAZEBLAZEBLAZE!!" Marine shouted across the store. "I got your e-mail! So, you could use some 'elp pickin' out a pretty number, eh? Leave it to me!"

She skipped happily in her friend's direction. Oh boy! Her taste in fashion was just BONZER, ya know. Naturally.

Did you know FDC Mall still had an arcade? AN ARCADE. And Jolt had more quarters than he reasonably should have had, and years worth of twitch reflexes. Time to do this.

Oren needed new shoes for the school year. He HATED shopping, but since it was so difficult to find dresses that fit him through online stores, he had to suck it up and hit up the department stores.

Upon arriving at the mall, he headed toward the nearest clothing store. As he walked past the arcade, a familiar face caught his eye. It was that Jolteon from the other day. Eugh, what was this? An arcade? So noisy...

"Hi, Jolt," he muttered. When his friend failed to respond, he asked again, raising his voice to levels outside his comfort zone to combat the high noise levels. "HI, JOLT!"

AN ARCADE.

Bulba was there. Bulba was there and clasping Jolt's shoulder so firmly, staring at the bounty ahead of them.

"Jolt they still have the arcade version of Digimon Stadium. Jolt. Jolt."

When Pit actually got precious free time on his hands to spare, of course he would spend it wisely. HIS quarters may be quarters that could go toward his debt, but hey, everyone needs a sack of instant gratification quarters to use on frivolities like arcades!

Besides. Arcades are the funnest places on any planet ever. You don't even need to do interstellar travel to know that!

Pit wanted to hang out with Jolt more, so there was no better place than a deep dark cavern full of blinking multicolor lights and the cacophony of beeps and boops and rising voices. It was the sight and sound of every game begging to be played.

And then... one catches Pit's eye.

"Huh. I've never seen that one before," he says to Jolt, pointing at the bright yellow game with fierce red text and nothing but a table for controls. "I wonder how you play?"

The thing about building and tinkering as often was Wave did, you occasionally ran out of parts. Luckily there was a store for that. Wave spent some time perusing electronics shops, looking for gadgets she could disassemble, or spare bits she needed for onboard computer systems. Maybe she'd even go get a massage to spoil herself, because dang it, she deserved it.

Cyrus had been needing some new equipment for a while. Certainly not for another Red Chain extraction device why it would be folly to build another when the lake spirits were nowhere around why would you even ask that just for a project an ordinary project.

As much as he despised the mall and its hyperactivity--it was as though that annoying blond boy that had tried to halfheartedly confront him was defined in a building--he was willing to ignore that for necessity.

But as he reached for a small set of connectors, another hand came to it.

You know what Daisy hadn't had in a long time?

A spa day.

It was rare she had anyone willing to enjoy it with her, at least since Peach was around, but she was raring to go. And all that weirdness earlier just made her urges grow. So, she invited some friends with her. Just a nice girls day out.

For however long it would STAY nice, given the company Daisy kept.

"Does this place do the thing with the hot rocks on your back? That always looked kinda weird, but I kinda wanna see what it's all about."

Rock loved the mall! It made him feel... well, normal, for lack of a better word. Like an ordinary person, with ordinary wants, needs, and desires. He could go check out video games... computers... books... Anything he wanted!

And of course if his girlfriend wanted something, or one of his friends wanted to stop by, his plans could wait while he joined them. After all, malls were best shared with friends.

Who needed stuff? EGGMAN SURE DIDN'T NEED STUFF. Not when he had some BRAND NEW ROBOTS coming off the assembly line as he spoke! But that would take a short time. Time that he could be spending on more productive pursuits.

Like walking around the mall, taping up fliers with pictures of Vivian that read "HAVE YOU SEEN THIS TURRET? CONTACT DOCTOR EGGMAN AT SUPEREVILGENIUS1@EGGMAN.EMPIRE"

And it was at this point that some lady carrying a million shopping bags nearly steamrolled him.

"Oh, my stars! How rude of me- dahling! You didn't tell me you were going shopping today, too~!"

The mall was a marvelous wonderland to Chiyo. Glamorous stores of many goodies left and right. She often enjoyed shopping or munching on some sweets while perusing the stores. Today, she may hit up the bookstores and craft stores, but you may find her wandering elsewhere. There are no particular plans for her visit to the mall apart from simply enjoying herself and passing the time.

Jon wasn't much of one for going to the mall.

It was loud and crowded. Clothing stores and makeup stores and perfume stores all pumped sickly scents into the air which his sensitive nose picked up at many times the intensity of your average Human nose. The food court didn't have much to offer him. And he was a second hand store kind of guy when it came to his own clothing.

However. When it came to buying gifts for his team? The Mall was pretty much THE place to be, with its unmatched variety and seeming millions of options.

He'd been kind of a recluse, lately - something in the air had made him ill a few months back and it had been a slow recovery since then. If anything, he wanted to pick up a few apology gifts for his Partners. He felt like it was the least he could do.

He happened to spot a bright cascade of blue hair and some very distinctive ears amongst the crowd of mallgoers and smiled. Perfect.

"Oi. Little one." he said, walking quicker to catch up with her. "Room for one more in your party?"

Someone's enjoying herself a little toooo much at the mall today and leaving stacks upon stacks of clothes in dressing rooms for unfortunate retailers to clean up after. It can't be helped; this girl's got some picky tastes and a questionable source of income to spend.

Will you catch her putting on her own fashion show? Ask for some clothing advise? Or... perhaps, putting merchandise in places she shouldn't?

Wow, someone's been taking over the changing rooms for ages. All Vinnie wanted to do was to find a sweater or two - the days were going to start getting nippy soon, and he needed a few more cold weather clothes - but the sheer quantity of clothes this customer was going through was mind-boggling.

He was next in line for the changing room when he finally noticed it was Acacia tearing through the store like a tornado - and things started making a bit more sense. The Venusaur couldn't help but ask, "Can Blue actually afford all that?"

The mall wasn't a place that Vinnie made a habit of frequenting too much, but sometimes your shopping needs could only be met by a massive complex filled with nothing but stores. Lots of September sales, everything autumn had come into stock, and maybe he could pick up a present or two, if something caught his eye.

Apart from looking for a few new, preferably more durable pieces of fall apparel that he could buy to prepare for the onset of colder weather, Vinnie could also be found at the tea shop, Pokemart, and looking for deals on school and garden supplies.

POKE A MART

Jon remembered back in his rookie days as a trainer, many many moons ago (Like four years. So. Forty eight moons ago. Werewolves counting time by Moons was not at all unheard of surely.) when he had almost no money and could only afford regular potions.

Those were not the good old days.

Having gainful employment had worked wonders in terms of keeping his item stocks fresh. Not that his three did a whole lot of battling other trainers or wild Pokémon, but still. He liked to have some Hyper Potions on hand and a few burn heals just on the off chance that he needed them. (Charizard Trainer. You could spot them a mile away.)

Not only that, but there were plenty of Pokémon periodicals and magazines in the racks of most Pokémarts. He'd usually leaf through a few before hitting the check out lane. Considering Rio, the Oddish he was training, was a contest Pokémon and not a battler by nature, Jon had picked up some current issues of contest specific 'zines that were sure to keep him abreast of the times and the fashions and the tips and tricks to dazzle your rivals and wow those judges! Or so the covers would have you believe.

He eyed the other guy in the Pokémart with him. Vinnie, wasn't it? Jon remembered the green haired guy had put on a pretty great show in Max's weight lifting competition. And he was pretty sure the guy was a Venusaur, too.

"Afternoon." He offered by way of greeting.

It wasn't often that Ronnae went to a crowded mall without family, not unless she was looking for supplies for her engineering. But considering she only arrived here with her field gear plus whatever was in her bags, she figured she'd need to do some shopping.

You'll find the half-breed browsing different stores for clothing, and very often getting distracted by hardware, electronics or engineering stores. What? She's got a passion okay?

SHOPPING. Melia didn't go shopping very often. Her bodyguards often insisted on getting anything she needed themselves, and she already had an impressive wardrobe, plus her school uniforms, so she was never in want of new outfits. Still, it was nice to get out once in a while. She didn't think she would ever get used to walking around in public without a mask on and not get mobbed by onlookers.

She found herself in several of the same stories Ronnae was in, since, after all, this was also a good chance to observe the fashions and technology of Final Destination. In fact, they may even bump into each other at some point.

Even the teachers go to the mall! Gordon can be found haunting the electronics stores, book stores, the game store, and the coffee kiosk, on the thoroughfare connecting it all. A bag filled with tangled cords and gizmos lies at his side that will probably meet a gruesome end as fodder for an experiment once he heads home.

Later, those who are observant will find him quietly ducking into a storeroom, ostensibly to talk to the super-secret arms dealer in there that's not actually a secret.

Hey, all that ammo has to come from somewhere, right?

What is Zero even doing here. He's not half sure himself.

The only reason he came out was to stock up on some more E-tanks. That was about an hour ago. Now the reploid was just sitting on a public bench, silently people-watching.

It seemed like a sound enough tactic to try and observe how normal people would act in an environment like this - an environment that he wasn't too fond of, either. Crowds were never his favourite place to be. With enough staring though, maybe... maybe he might work up the nerve to try and approach a clothing store. It wasn't like he'd never shopped for clothes before, but that had been with a purpose in mind. Zero had no idea what he was supposed to be looking for on his own...

Harpuia had seen Fefnir's determination in coming to the beach out of his armor, and he hadn't forgotten it in the least. If Rock and Fefnir both could wear the kind of things human civilians wore, then why should Harpuia cling to his uniform? He had no excuse.

In typical Harpuia fashion, he had prepared. The hardware specifications of his body were still in his memory, and it was only a quick Google search to translate those numbers into conventional human clothing sizes. The finer points of 21st century fashion still felt a bit unclear to him, but he had an understanding of what would fit and more or less what to look for.

So once again Harpuia ventured out without his helmet -- this time, the gauntlets had been left behind too. The jets (and the sabers they holstered) stayed, of course, but this was the bare minimum to be compatible with ordinary clothes without burdening himself with armor he wasn't even going to be wearing. He'd expected this to be a solo endeavor, though: a familiar face in the crowds of the mall was a surprise. "...Zero?"

Flurrie was in desperate need of a fall wardrobe, so of course she was here. And she was on a mission. No one could stop her from getting the latest fashions. Everyone would be wise to avoid the huge mass of shopping bags she was carrying or she may knock them over.

Oren was shifting between racks of frilly skirts when he noticed a very purple lady walking by with a few too many bags. Those things could be a safety hazard, almost, yeesh.

"Um, excuse me. Hi," he said as he approached her cautiously. "Would you like some help with those?" He gestured to her collection of bulky shopping bags.

Malls are pretty great! You can do just about anything in them, like shop, eat food court fare, lose yourself to the arcade, and get street passes run into people you know so you can catch up or hang out.

Pit is doing any number of these things and more. Well, what is he shopping for? Though he has to pinch his pennies these days, he could still use some warmer clothes for when autumn and winter rear their chilly heads. That or he's crying at all the things he can't afford in the electronics and entertainment stores. (Not literally- but making a private scene to himself.) Or, he's at Weapons Depot looking to convert spare weapons to hearts because they ACTUALLY HAVE a cauldron!

That or he's just... stuffing his face. Or trying to decide what to stuff his face with. Or playing games. Or even just in the process of going from Point A to Point B. I wish Dark Pit were here so I could make Hot Topic jokes, but he's not. Oh, and did I mention he's beginning to molt? He might be a bit... moody at times. And messy.

Knuckles was in the food court, enjoying a little vegan cuisine when a feather managed to land in his fries.

He blinked at it for a moment before turning to look for its owner - hopefully it wasn't a dirty pigeon or something equally gross. But before he could even glance to the heavens, he lay eyes on an Angel.

Hmm. Pit was that guy's name. Poor kid was in debt, so far as Knuckles remembered. Well, the Echidna had some spare cash after selling some nice stones he'd found in the volcano. And this guy had been a friend of the Other Him. It only seemed right to share.

"Hey. Pit, right?" he said, waving to the Angel. "Uh... 'sup, man?"
