Sometimes... Sometimes people just needed things. Basic necessities, food, clothes, video games... Of course, after the big Angry Birds attack a few days ago, it was likely people needed to replace broken things too. (How did that even happen anyway...)

Whatever the reason, the mall was the place to be.

"Sure, that'd be great!" she said, eagerly offloading a couple of bags into his arms. "Yeah? What did you get so far?" she asked.

Not like I'm the quickest lately, either. XD It's all good!

Sonny happily took them.

"I got a big pink sweater and a big yellow sweater! Knitted ones! Also, some nicer collared shirts to wear underneath and some long pants. I learned about clothes shopping with someone one time, and they figured out I look best in pastel colors, so, that's what I went with!"

He opened his bag so that she could peek inside, if she wanted to.

"What about you?"

"Very colorful," she replied, peeking into his bag. That was very pastel. So very pastel...

"I'm just looking to fill out my wardrobe for the fall," she said. "Some cute outfits that are a bit warmer, some jeans, tops, underwear, the usual. Already hit a few stops I wanted to see!"

Sonny was pretty sure any outfit would look cute on her. Oh god she was going to shop for underwear Sonny died of a nosebleed on the spot

"Ooh, cool! I actually like clothes shopping! I don't do it very often - most of my salary goes on food and Ukulele lessons? So when I do go, I really enjoy it."

Deep breath, aaaand...

"Maybe once you're done, we could get some lunch? If you want, I mean? The food court here is pretty awesome - they have a really great taco place?"

"Yeah, sure! Shopping works up an appetite after all," she said, thinking nothing of the invitation. At least no more than usual.

"You sure you don't mind? I mean, I don't wanna bore you making you wait while I look for things," she added as they started to walk.

"Hehe! For me, everything works up an appetite!"

One day. One day he might even ask her for an actual date and see how she felt about that idea. One day.

"I don't mind at all! I like spending time with you, so, it's going to be fun no matter what we do!"

"Oh good!" Shantae answered with a wink. "I wouldn't mind an opinion on some outfit ideas," she added with a laugh as they reached another store. "Maybe some nice jean shorts would be nice," she said, grabbing a pair of jean short shorts. "I can get a good price, since it's getting colder..."

"I could give opinions, sure!" Sonny replied, kind of flattered she'd even want to know what he thought about her choices.

"Jean shorts are cute! I remember the trainer from Unova, Hilda? She wore those a lot! They looked really nice on her!"

"Hey, that's a good point," Shantae said. "She had a really nice hat too... Maybe I should try that!"

She grabbed a couple more items, then set off for the changing room. "Hang on, let's try this ensemble out!"

"I think you could pull that off! Put your ponytail through that space at the back, maybe? That would look really, really cute! Have fun trying them on! Hopefully they all fit!"

He had issues finding clothes that fit him sometimes. It was a real problem.

He picked up some clothes and started folding them while he waited. Hey, he knew how hard these clothing store associates had to work. It didn't hurt him to help them out while he was waiting around anyway.

"Good idea!" She said as she ducked into a booth. Some rustling from within, and shortly after the door swung open, and Shantae was decked out in a new outfit.

"What do you think?" she asked, turning this way and that.

His actual thought was something along the lines of 'Daaaaaaayumn'

However. This was Sonny Moe.

"It looks so cute! The colors are a nice change - Especially the jean shorts! I think blue is a nice color on you!"

"You think so?" she asked. "I always thought I looked good in blue, but red is my favourite. Maybe I'll try some more blue in my outfits this season!" she suggested. "Here, hand me those jeans there?" she asked, pointing at a pair she had set aside.

"I might be a little biased - blue is my favorite color!" Sonny replied, handing her the jeans. "You look great in red, too! And black!"

He still sometimes remembered that Rocket uniform.

"Then I definitely know how I want to color coordinate," she replied, taking the jeans and ducking into the changing room. When she emerged, she had tried on the jeans, and a blue midriff baring shirt. "How's this?"

"That looks so great!" Sonny exclaimed, grinning like a lovestruck idiot. "Good choice!"

"Perfect!" she replied with a grin. "Now I just need a bra to go with this," she mused to herself, hand on her chin.

Come to think of it, that shirt was pretty form-fitting.

And it might have been a little chilly in the store.

...oh wow.

"Oh! Yeah! Probably!" Sonny replied, starting to fold a few more misplaced shirts. "I have to admit, though? I'm not going to be that much help picking out those! I don't wear them!"

"I've got it under control," she reassured him, stepping past him to find some bras to choose from. She returned with a few different varieties in hand, and then did the unthinkable.

"What do you think?" she asked him, holding up a few selections. Some were strapless, some had lace, some had bows, some were white, some were black, some were red or blue...

Gulp.

"They... all look really, really nice!" He said, feeling his knees start to knock a little. He felt like a deer in headlights. (Or a Panda in this case.)

"...the bows are a cute touch! And lace is always pretty!" he managed to say, putting on a grin and trying to tell himself that this was literally no different than her showing him jean shorts and shirts. "The one with the little silk flowers is cute. They kind of remind me of the frosting flowers you see on fancy cakes sometimes?"

"Yeah, I do like that one," she said, looking it over. "Okay, I'll try this one first!" She stepped into the changing room. The shirt she was wearing was quickly hung over the edge of the door, and from within the rustling sound of Shantae trying on clothes was all that could be heard.

"Hmm... Yeah, I really like this one!" she said from within. Sadly, she wasn't going to model bras for Sonny. She did, however, drape the aforementioned silk flowers one over the door as well. "That's one keeper."

He was actually pretty glad that she wasn't. He honestly wasn't sure he could act normally if she'd done so - not that her usual clothing was much less revealing, mind you! But that was intended to be worn as an everyday top. Bras were something entirely different.

"OK! I bet that black one looks nice, too! Probably!" he said, trying to offer advice in a way that didn't sound in any way creepy or overly invested.

He'd folded pretty much the entire basket of clothes that had been left as go-backs outside the changing room.

"You're definitely right there," Shantae said from within the dressing room. "Damn do I look good in this!" It too was slung over the door.

"You see anything you like here?" she asked him as she continued. "Shirts, pants, jackets, anything?"

"Oh! I... uh... sure!" He replied, looking through all the things he'd folded. He probably SHOULD be doing something other than waiting for her to finish changing bras and folding clothes.

Well, actually, there was a light pink collared shirt he'd folded that was his size. He'd pick it up. It had long sleeves and they were wide so he'd fit them OK so long as he didn't flex too much.

"Yeah, there's a nice shirt!"

Vinnie wore pink shirts and was essentially the coolest guy Sonny had ever met. If it was good enough for Vinnie, it was good enough for him!

"Great! Try it on, I wanna see it! Let me just put a top on here," she said from behind the closed door.
