Sometimes... Sometimes people just needed things. Basic necessities, food, clothes, video games... Of course, after the big Angry Birds attack a few days ago, it was likely people needed to replace broken things too. (How did that even happen anyway...)

Whatever the reason, the mall was the place to be.

Lucca's reply is truncated as Shantae gets her to her feet, and she makes a quick lean back to grab her milkshake. She's got priorities, you see.

"I dunno, Shantae, I, I've got enough clothes and shoes and stuff already." She protests weakly, following the other girl.

Shantae waved off Lucca's protest, leading the way from the food court. "First of all, no you don't," she said. "And even if you think you do, no reason you can't try anything on! Second, if you don't want to go shopping for clothes, we can always look for other stuff!"

She held out her arms, gesturing to stores on either side of her. "I mean, look at all this! There weren't this many shops in Scuttle Town, and that's a port trading town! Where do you want to go first?"

"Um..."

She follows Shantae's gesture and looks around, her eyes settling, as they would for someone as utilitarian as her, on the sporting goods store.

"How about Chocobo Mountain?" She suggests, pointing to the super-warm-but-leaves-absolutely-no-skin-uncovered jackets in the window. Shantae, she needs an intervention.

Shantae cocked her head to look in the direction Lucca suggested, and chuckled a bit. "It's a bit early for something like that, isn't it?" she suggested. "C'mon, we can do better than that. Something nice and cute! Like over there!" she said, pointing towards Unova Braviary Outfitters.

Some of the outfits in the window were decidedly less conservative. Short shorts, tight cut tops, miniskirts...

There's... so much skin...

"Well, I dunno... I mean, I know that kinda stuff would fit YOU well, but I don't know about myself." She explains, still staring at the storefront.

Is that manniquin wearing thigh-high socks with shorts? That's... kind of cool.

"C'mon, it'll be fine! You'll look great!" Shantae replied. She leaned in closer, grinning. "Your boyfriend probably would think so," she said smugly.

"You think so...?"

You know just which pressure point to hit, don't you Shantae? She blushes and grins, and walks in with her.

Sweaters, skirts, jeans. Sneakers and boots. Long stockings and tights. Lucca had only grabbed a single shirt to start out, and eyeballs the tables piled in cloth.

"I'm not really big on dresses, but those pants, maybe...?"

"That's the spirit," Shantae said as they walked inside to begin the hunt.

"Yeah, those pants would look good on you," Shantae said with a nod. "You should try those shorts too, like the display in the window. Pair them up with long socks, and I think you'd rock that look!" she encouraged, providing her own fashionable eye to Lucca's search.

"The shorts...? Well, okay! I'll try it--"

She's got more muscle than your average mannequin, but the look works well for her. She shuffles out of the dressing room with the aforementioned shorts and stockings on as well as a big sweater, brushing back her hair with her fingers as she looks down.

"Wow. I think I kinda like this! What'd you find, Shantae?" She asks over the changing cubicle wall.

Shantae emerged from her own dressing room in a pair of tight jeans and a baby tee, both of which were easy reminders of how impossibly curvy the half genie was. "Hey, that's a good look for you!" she said with a grin. "You've totally got the legs for that!"

"Thanks, and wow!" She exclaims when she sees her. "You've got the... the EVERYTHING, for that!"

"I know, right?" Shantae said, twisting a bit to show off. She was fully aware of how great she looked. "I'm so trying on some skirts after this."

"But look at you! We're only getting started, y'know. You've got some great features we can accentuate," she explained. "I'd love to see you in a T-shirt, or even a tank top."

"You really think I've got the..."

She glances down.

"...The shape for that?"

Shantae nodded. "Absolutely," she said. "But we'll just have to prove it to you, won't we?" she added, going out to the floor to grab a few tops for Lucca to try out.

"Shouldn't you change back first?!" She asks Shantae's ponytail as it swishes away, and giggles as she notices a clerk that passes her and runs into a pillar from the distraction.

Several minutes later, she comes out of the dressing room yet again, this time with sneakers, a little shirt that reads E=mc², and a pair of artfully-scruffed jeans.

"You know, you're really good at finding this stuff." She says with no small amount of marvel in her voice.

Shantae nodded in approval, smiling broadly. "It's very you," she said. "Oh, I know. It's a gift! They've got all sorts of geeky shirts here, you know!"
