Sometimes... Sometimes people just needed things. Basic necessities, food, clothes, video games... Of course, after the big Angry Birds attack a few days ago, it was likely people needed to replace broken things too. (How did that even happen anyway...)

Whatever the reason, the mall was the place to be.

It wasn't often that Ronnae went to a crowded mall without family, not unless she was looking for supplies for her engineering. But considering she only arrived here with her field gear plus whatever was in her bags, she figured she'd need to do some shopping.

You'll find the half-breed browsing different stores for clothing, and very often getting distracted by hardware, electronics or engineering stores. What? She's got a passion okay?

SHOPPING. Melia didn't go shopping very often. Her bodyguards often insisted on getting anything she needed themselves, and she already had an impressive wardrobe, plus her school uniforms, so she was never in want of new outfits. Still, it was nice to get out once in a while. She didn't think she would ever get used to walking around in public without a mask on and not get mobbed by onlookers.

She found herself in several of the same stories Ronnae was in, since, after all, this was also a good chance to observe the fashions and technology of Final Destination. In fact, they may even bump into each other at some point.

Having to have a good notion of one's areas while on the field is a must for anyone that goes into battle and Ronnae's zone awareness was always on point. It helped that she had a high dislike of crowded areas due to her anxieties but still, she took note of the woman who had similar insterest, or coincidentally ventured into the same locations...

Which might have been grasping considering it was a shopping area, but a greeting wouldn't hurt right? The next time Ronnae bumped into said lady, she would smile sheepishly and offer a friendly bow in greeting.

Melia was too lost in thought to notice that she had apparently been tailing someone while exploring the shops. She spotted something on a shelf up high, and she started backing up so she could get a better look at it. She was so focused on this task that she wasn't paying attention to anyone around her...

Maybe Ronnae was wrong in her assumption. It's not like this is the same world as the one she came from, why would anyone be trying to seek and assault around here? No wars that she knew of...

That put her more at ease and shen she noticed what the woman was up to, she smiled awkwardly before speaking. "Need a hand?"

Melia jumped at the sound of the voice right behind her. She wheeled around, her face beet red.

"Oh no! I am so sorry! I didn't even realize you were there!"

"Oh, no, it's okay I... I prefer it that way actually..." Not being one to like standing out. "B-but I was just wondering if you needed help, since you were looking thoughtful."

At that remark, Melia gave her an odd look. "Surely you don't mean you enjoy when people just bump into you like that?"

"I... w-well no I mean... I don't like crowded places in general." she began as she shifted awkwardly. "But not, I don't particularly enjoy that either..." Well this is starting swell.

Joel liked that there was a hardware store in the mall.

Because as much as it would never overtake the bigger hardware stores in other parts of FDC, you could come to the mall, load up on cheap fast food burgers, expensive coffee shop coffee, and get all your M8 screws and fencing staples and roofing shingles at the same time.

He was reorganizing the nail bins (Because some inconsiderate customer or incompetent employee had piled a bunch of finishing nails into the 2" standard nail bin.) when he noticed the green lady who made really good burgers was in this store as well.

He gave her a small wave, unsure if she'd even noticed him at this point.

She noticed, after all it wasn't often that she met with people from the school outside. Returning the gesture, Ronnae walked over to him and gave a small bow.

"Hello, looking to restock?" she asked looking at the bins.

"Yeah. Got t'pick up some finishing nails for class and some stuff to repair Hagakure's chicken run."

Repair being a term used loosely - he often messed with it just to mess with it. A project was only interesting when you were doing something with it, after all.

"You too, huh?" he asked. She was in Engineering, wasn't she?

Ronnae smiled sheepishly and shrugged, "Partly. Both for class and for personal projects. So many things here that are odd and new and I want to see what I can introduce into my teaching." And what she can use to further her own inventions.

"How are you enjoying the vacation?"

"I guess Hagakure's chicken coop has turned into a personal project for me, so, I'm doin' roughly the same."

It had STARTED as a class project. However. The chickens were here to stay.

At her question though, he had to think about it a bit. He didn't really 'enjoy' the vacation so much as he survived it. One day at a time, dealing with the crazy things that happened at this school. Like random showers of exploding birds and finding half rattlesnake half coyote puppies.

"It's been alright. Beach was nice."

Ronnae smiled. "It really was. It's a nice beach, makes me miss the ones from back home." Like in Stranglethorn or the one near Quel'thalas.

"With school starting, it'll be less likely to visit places like that." Save for maybe school trips. "But I'm also looking forward to the classes and students."

"Well, there's weekends and breaks inbetween terms and what have ya." Joel commented. "You can always go to the beach then, I figure. Though, it snows here in th' winter time so it may not be the most hospitable place, year 'round."

He wasn't much of a beach person himself.

"I prefer the woods. Shame we went and lost most of 'em."

"Lost them? What do you mean?" Ronnae asked curiously.

"As in the woods around here or back, well, I don't want to assume but maybe you're not from here either?" She could could never quite tell with humans. Or well... considering this place, probably wouldn't be able to tell for sure with anyone really.

Guess who happened to be shopping in the same store as Ronnae? That's right, this girl. She recognized the girl from the dancing club, and happily went to introduce herself.

"Hey! Find anything good?" she asked.

Ronnae jumped a little at the sudden greeting, turning around a bit red faced to find none other than the dance instructor she had been to embarrassed to join in on their class.

"O-oh, I-I.... " Get it together Ronnae.

Failing to word, she nodded quickly and kept her gaze down looking embarrassed. "A f-few things, yeah."

"Yeah?" she asked, all smiles. "You're looking a little lost. Having trouble deciding on something? Want a second opinion?" she offered.

Ronnae smiled awkwardly embarrassed, not keeping eye contact because she felt she wouldn't be able to speak if she did so.

"Oh w-well I'm new to these parts so It's harder to pick out things... but I've found somethings I've l-liked... But I'd love a second opinion please."

"Hey, we were all new here once," she pointed out. "I get you. Don't worry about it! Let's see what you've got!"

Shifting in place, Ronnae managed to smile a little thanks to Shantae's encouragement.

"Well, h-here..." she put her bags on a table that was besides then, next to a pretzel stand. "D-do you want maybe t-to eat while here?" A snack wouldn't be bad.

If Shantae went ahead and checked out her shopping spree she'd find lots of casual clothing that was very form-hiding. Lose sports/jogging pants, hoodies, oversized t-shirts, some assorted cutesy panties and one plain bra because let's face it, finding something for her sized breasts was near to impossible unless it was custom.

"Bit of a modest selection," Shantae said while Ronnae picked up some pretzels, poking through the bags Ronnae had on hand. "I mean, you look gorgeous. Not gonna get anything to show off a bit?"

She came across the one big plain bra, and shook her head. "Come on, you need more than just THIS," she said.

"S-show off?! N-no I... I don't really n-no..." her face was completely red, but she still brought about a couple of pretzels and some pretzel cinamon-sugar balls. Along with some drinks.

"I... not unless it's in private I guess..." she looked around hoping no one was listening in on this.
