Shantae was being put as on edge by the recent goings on as anyone at Smash. She was restless, and when she learned she couldn't even leave town to go back home, she was frustrated as well. Having run out of Primids to beat upon, she needed to channel her aggression at something else. And what better thing to get the blood pumping than some dance?

"Hey, everyone," she said, welcoming the arrivals to the studio. "I thought it'd be fun this time to kick it up a notch! A few dances on the more energetic side of things. So if anyone's up to it, I can start showing you the basics of belly dancing! We've got music and equipment for other high energy dancing, like tango, swing, or even break dancing if you think you want to try. So let's all have fun!"

We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment, but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!

Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Just add a thread with the room number (and date/time, if it matters) and the characters that reside there (just for reference!). You do not have to use one character's thread as a dual-purpose for both characters if you do not want to. Doesn't have to be a dorm room, either, if you have something else in mind.

And don't forget: things are getting pretty freaky! Shadow bugs are still rife around the school and city, causing all kinds of trouble, but most significantly capable of cloning people and even objects. For the remainder of July, the dimensional lines are a little blurred and causing alternate universe versions of characters to show up. But something ever curiouser has started to show up on campus... Bubbles?

Subspace bubbles? They look kinda like the ones dotting the sky... Dare ye enter?

If you do, you'll find that it... just ends up being a portal to another part of the school. Sometimes they may lead you into some part of town. Weird! Hopefully it doesn't lead you anywhere embarrassing, like in the middle of a stage play or in the bathroom of the opposite sex. That's mortifying.

Four was a good number for a group of explorers. All of them showed an interest in wanting to venture down into the tunnels, and even though Pit had gone a few times already, he wanted to go more. Finally he was able to organize for all of them to meet together at the same time in the dorm lobby where they would pop the top off the tile and delve into the bunkers to the subterranean passage. It turned out that Watt had already gone before, but she wanted to go again. Besides, she would be a valuable ally to have- she was like a light bulb, and it was dark down there! Sonny promised to do a lot of the lifting when they brought back the trophy they were searching for. Their goal was to snag one of the Pokemon trophies and bring it back for an X-ray evaluation to see what was inside. Pokemon Centers were free, after all.

They journeyed through the stretch of bunkers until they reached the entrance to the tunnels. "Here we are," announced Pit. He brought the same Aquarius Blade weapon he had last time, since he noticed it had the capacity to OHKO the phantomlike enemies that appeared for him two of the times he went. "Are we ready? The moment we go in, monsters might appear. The ones that tend to show up first are defeated by continuous physical attacks. That means you can't stop hitting them once you start, or else they just regenerate when you leave them alone. It might be better to divide them all up between us when they come so we can stop them from doing that."

When the students arrive for their final, Cyrus is, as usual, already there. The question on the board, in his usual precise handwriting, is deceptively simple.

The tale of the ancient king

According to legend, a war once consumed several faraway regions. The king of one region sent his Pokémon to battle, where it was killed. Out of grief, he summoned a powerful force to destroy the battlefield, killing thousands of people and Pokémon.

You will write a minimum of five pages on this subject, covering the following points: Are the deaths of thousands justified to stop a war that would kill far more? Does his motivation of grief justify his actions? Without that motivation, would your views on his actions change? Either way, why? What would you do if the situation arose under your power? Explain your actions.

You have until 3 pm.

Shantae had never seen a prom before, but she had heard of grand balls at the Sequin Land Palace. And knowing it was going to involve a big formal dance, Shantae knew that was a subject people were going to be very interested. So when the next set of posters for the Dance Club went up, they all announced proudly that she would be offering ballroom dancing lessons. One on one or in the club. She had learned from Inigo that some people might not want to learn this kind of thing in a big group, and she wanted to accommodate those people.

Her poster making quality had not gone up since her first flyer. Incidentally, she discovered the existence of gel pens.

April 28th; Apple Pie Golems: Apple Kid's 17th-dimensional ball of yarn (this is an invention from 4 years ago) gets tangled up and, regrettably, opens a portal to the Elemental Plane of Apple Cobbler. Apple pie golems come streaming in from the rift before it can be closed properly, and they are hungry for a slice of your character. It's fight or... die?! Or maybe fight and pie, depending on whether you win or not.

May 2nd; No-Pants Day: Someone must have funked up a spell in Magic Class, because now everyone's pants have become... sentient! And they're escaping! They're scrambling around without their owners, from shorts to trousers to even skirts! Skirts probably don't know how to run, so they float. Big difference. Even if you manage to nab them back, they'll just try and slip right off again. They're pretty violent. Even the pants in your drawers and closets aren't safe from this magical misdemeanor. Skivvies are strangely unaffected.

May 9th; Meteos Mayhem: Meteos blocks start to gradually descend upon the school grounds. It doesn't seem like a huge deal at first, but after a while, it gets to be a nuisance. Get it off my car! Why are there so many of them? When will they end?! If you're keen, you'll realize that if you line up blocks of like colors in a vertical or horizontal row of three or more, they'll... blast off into space? Weird, but kind of cool. And hey, it cleaned them up. Better not let them stack up too high! It's Trash Day for the whole school!

It had been a chance meeting at S*Mart (Shop Smart! Shop S*Mart!) but it had blossomed into something wonderful.

You see, even in our consumer culture, driven by sales and promotions and discount pricing, sometimes there can be too much of one particular thing. Like, say, Valentines Day Candy. Remember Valentines day? You probably wish that you didn't. But someone at S*Mart had sure been on the ball because they had ordered a triple sized quantity of candy to fill those shelves. And those end caps. And those stack out displays. And a massive portion of the stock room. And oh holy crap what are we going to do with all these sweet tarts and cherry cordials and heart shaped boxes of pink whateveritis that haven't sold yet!?

You put it on sale, that's what you do. You heavily discount it. Like... just try and get it out the door kind of discount it. Like, this store is going to lose thousands on this but we can't return this stuff to the vendor so people please come and buy boxes of chocolate for a dime and bags of chalky aspirins with vapid sayings printed on them in god only knows what for a nickel and if you buy ten dollars worth we'll throw in some Easter candy because we ordered too much Easter candy too.

Oh. Yeah. And that chance meeting I mentioned earlier? It was Sonny Moe and Jolt.

The aftermath of this as you can probably imagine is two young guys, relaxing in the sunshine, strumming on a ukulele and eating inappropriate masses of super discounted candy. If that sounds like your idea of a good time? Well come on over.

Every year this happened like clockwork. Those horrific little robot cherubs armed with hormone altering arrows were starting to appear on campus, carrying with them their 24 hour curse. Senior students and faculty knew these things all too well, and knew well enough to stay away from them. Newer students may have been warned about them. But would everyone be able to avoid these horrid little pranksters?

Anyone struck by their arrow would find themselves irresistibly attracted to the first person they saw. The effect was temporary, thankfully, lasting only 24 hours. But still, a lot can happen in 24 hours...

1/18: Hypno's Naptime. Much like the anime episode of the same name, there are mysterious sleep waves pulsing through town. No one is sure where they're coming from- it could be a rowdy Hypno that took over a broadcasting station one day, or maybe it's the local Disco Drowzee club that opened up just recently and their collective moves are enough to make you snooze. Well, these sleep waves might make you catch onto some unexpected z's, but more likely they can give you strange effects. Don't limit it to thinking you're a Pokemon, either. They can trick you into believing you're something else entirely, or just give you the urge to slip on a chicken costume and table dance in front of a crowd without finding it socially inappropriate. Just. WEIRD STUFF, MAN. Anything is possible.
1/19 - 1/25: Nancy's going on vacation. That's right, you sorry saps aren't gonna know what to do with yourselves now that no one's cooking for you. There was gonna be a substitute lunch bear/lady/alien space creature, but for whatever reason, they never showed up. So now, everyone must FEND FOR THEMSELVES. How will you fare if you don't even know how to flip a spatula?
1/25 - 1/27: Ice Cream Blizzard. Oh, you poor, starving Smashers. Not only are you bereft of nutrition, but it's cold and snowing and you can barely get out of the building without freezing solid! You might just perish, but wait- if you step outside and try to catch snowflakes with your tongue, you might just realize that it's... snowing ICE CREAM?!
1/29-1/31: Goomba Infestation. Everything is Goombas for 2 days in the boys dorms. Bowser is dicking around with "Itchymarbles" again, and it just spills out across the entire dorms. This prank has the unfortunate side effect of, well, affecting everyone on campus, and not just Scratchy McMarbles, so you might wanna be careful opening that fridge, since the wrong kinds of mushrooms might start pouring out. Jumping on them might work, but it's gonna take a lot of hopscotch to decimate an entire roomful!

This is a bit of an experiment, so... we'll see what comes of this.

Here, there, where eeeeever you weeeeere, it was a bit chillier than it should have been, even if it was January. It was really rather peculiar.

It probably had something to do with the gaseous black orb floating in the middle of the room. Or the hallway. Or the quad. It moved around. (Through walls, through people. Etc.)

To those in the know, it was readily identified as a Gastly that was just kind of hovering around with its eyes squeezed shut. To those not in the know, it was just a weirdo gassy ball with its eyes squeezed shut. Sometimes it looked more solid, and sometimes it seemed like it was falling apart with purple whisps spreading out in every which direction. (Careful, you don't want to walk in to that.) It was hovering around with its mouth open, making weird little noises and looking altogether...

Kind of lost.
