When: Future dated to Saturday the 8th

The day had finally arrived.

Much like any other trip to Angel Island, all you have to do is walk into the giant rotating gold ring and you are FWASH'd through space to arrive at your destination.



However, instead of arriving on the white sands of Angel Island's beaches, you're taken straight to the Hidden Palace.



Where an Aisle has been set up in the Chaos Chamber, utilizing the already grand architecture of the palace to full effect. It had also been cleaned of dust and cobwebs, and seating for guests had been arranged. The time of the wedding had been set so that the sunlight shining through the volcanic crater would illuminate the hall beautifully for the duration of the ceremony.

Caterers, the DJ and all the other people pertinent to the actual running of the wedding had been there for quite some time setting up. Now everything was ready and all that was needed was the Bride and Groom! And, of course, all the guests.

UGH, BUT WHY WAS HE HERE. Really, the last thing Genny wanted to was to see one of Mario's do-good flunkies tie the knot, but damn his sense of organized duty, here he was anyhow, clad in his grey military regalia. A walkie talkie was clipped to his belt, just in case King Bowser wanted to get in contact with him. He assumed that Goombella and Knuckles would be doing everything in their power to keep the royal Koopa out, but there was no harm in wishful thinking.

Of course Cammy was here! She wouldn't miss this for the world!

And Green couldn't help but still feel a vague sense of disbelief. People he knew. Getting married. Really put a lot into perspective...

Pit needs to find BOTH OF THEM, as he is pals with... BOTH of them. He wants to wish them both the best. Hearing the news in the first place zapped him with emotion, so on the day of their connubial union, he was beside himself with excited energy, unable to keep still.

Well... Francine didn't actually know the bride and groom all too well. But it was an open invitation, so surely they wouldn't mind well-wishes from acquaintances. Especially if they brought a wedding gift to sweeten the deal.

Francine had a gift with a dainty bow carefully tucked between her crossed arms, and presently she was looking for a place to set it down.

"Daaaahling~!" Flurrie was fluffing Goombella's veil. "You look positively radiant! What a dream come true for both of you! Oh, I'm so happy I could cry!"

Max was here. It was Max. Of course he was here. He was wearing a suit and it looked ridiculous on him. How was he not already busting out of that.

No, seriously, who invited him? I'm pretty sure that he's crashing this wedding.

The tiny pikmin had not intended on coming. She had been simultaneously surprised and unsurprised that she had an invitation.

But Knuckles had always only been helpful and kind to her, for whatever reason, and Goombella was nice as well. It was good to see them happy together. So there she was in the only dress she owned, blending in with the white tablecloths. She was watching the events unfold as she took quick, little breaths, and she wondered if she should have brought something.

You better believe Mac was going to find his way on over here. Knuckles, after all, was one of his closest friends and firsts he's made in this school. The very least he could do was be there for him on his big day. He tried his very best to get cleaned and look sharp in a suit.

He may not know an awful lot about Goombella, all he knew she was nice and good for him; which was the best he could hope for.

How long they have come by this point. They were really all growing up, weren't they?

Blaze wasn't about to miss one of her friends getting married of all things. She came to visit Knuckles before the ceremony to pass on her best wishes.

"I'm amazed to see you going through with this," she told him. "When I first met you, it was hard to imagine you like this."

Of course Watt was going to be here! Being Goombella's roommate for a while, and not only the fact that they were both once Mario's partners, she felt like she had to come and celebrate. And, of course, she knew that Knuckles was a pretty cool guy too! She was super happy for the both of them.

Lucca trots happily towards the echidna, having hunted him down in the vast crystal-lined halls before the ceremony. She'd pulled out the nice little summer dress Voile had given her for Christmas, happy it was so appropriate because it happened to be one of the ONLY dresses in her closet.

"Wow, can't believe the big day's already here! Bet you're probably feelin' the same way, huh?"

Ceremony, cue Bride, Groom, Best Maid, Maid of Honor and Priest

Rhys had kindly agreed to preside over the ceremony. The music started to play and Here Comes the Bride!

As the ceremony got on, ugh how awful, ugh how boring, ugh how nausiating all of these professions of love, Bowser stood up.

"The marriage cannot go on: I declare the existence of an impediment."

So there was the D.J. and apparently this guy was a big deal or something?


There was also plenty of food and drink!

Surprise, surprise, there was someone here who was waaaaaaaaay more interested in the refreshment tables than the dance floor. Even though he was a member of dance club.

"So much fruit!" he said happily to himself as he piled a plate with all kinds of dishes, both sweet and savory.

After feasting extensively, there was only one thing a druidess of her nature could do. Burn it up! And what better way to do so than on the dance floor?

So while said DJ was playing, you could find the tall halfbreed burning up the floor and having a blast.

Bouquet Toss!

And now, it was time for one of the most important wedding traditions. The Bouquet Toss. All the single ladies hit the dance floor before Goombella makes the toss!

Garter chucking!

OK, all you single men out there. Get your butts over here and listen up.

Whether you know it or not, you've been training for this all year. Catching footballs, catching baseballs, catching colds... all of these things will have provided you with valuable experience for catching this Garter. Get your heads in the game, Men. It's make or break time. I want to see a good, clean game out there. No eye gouging, shots below the belt or climbing over the fallen bodies of your fellow competitors.

And seemingly out of nowhere, they would find a small basket with varied stolen treats and chocolates. A few sex toys for that special night and a big tomato with a dumb face drawn on it.

And Knuckles very happily opened the basket to reveal all the wonderful things within though had to - very quickly - hide some of the less appropriate items lest Goombella's relatives see him holding a mechanical marital aid.

"Thanks, Kitty." he said quietly, not sure if she was still here to hear him, but wanting to say it all the same. That Tomato, by the way, got to sit on a pedestal in the chamber where it was sure to catch the fading afternoon sunlight. Even tomatoes deserve their day in the sun.
