Old memories. Painful moments long forgotten, or that were hoped forgotten. The end of time itself. And at the heart of it all, the final gateway: A mass of stone and clockwork gears, hiding the final massive portal. This was it: The Time Eater was beyond this door, and with it, the key to fixing everything. Just step through...

Beyond the portal was a dark void swirling with reddish purple energy. Gears hung in the sky seemingly without purpose. And there, floating above it all, was the beast itself. The Time Eater. Without its haze of energy, it was revealed as a massive four armed mechanical creature, covered in gears and looking more clockwork than living thing.

Time to go to work.

Link woke up, confused and shook up by the weird warping that had happened to the world. He sat on the ground in front of a brightly colored rainbow bridge in the middle of an otherwise foreboding and desolate world. A very, very scary looking tower that hovered over a huge pit of lava was connected to the strip of land Link sat on. The sun was blocked by dark clouds that crackled with lightning in the sky above.

"Navi? Where are we?" He asked as he stood up and looked around. When no answer came, he reached up to take his hat off and look for his friend inside, "Navi?"

She wasn't there and he couldn't see or hear her. He was alone.

This had already been a very confusing day for her. Because naturally as soon as she tried to do something nice, a giant monster had to arrive and screw it up. She had been deposited in the empty white void along with everyone else, disoriented and confused. But there were... things in the void. Things that called out to her. And as she explored, she found herself in a place that was unfortunately all too familiar to her.

Pirates Island. The former base of operations of Captain Whisker. But how was that possible? This place was from her dimension... Could the power of this monster be tampering with her own reality as well?! If so, she really needed to get to the bottom of this. Not just for this world, but hers too.

Blaze took off through the ruined, flooded buildings, looking for what she knew was lying in wait. If Captain Whisker was back, maybe he had some connection to this.

It had taken some work to put it together, but Blaze was confident that Sonic didn't suspect a thing. When she learned that Sonic's birthday was coming up, she decided that someone at least had to do something special for him. And while organizing parties wasn't necessarily her thing, she thought perhaps something simple would not only be within her ability, but that it was something Sonic would probably appreciate more.
