Dorm Log: Scorching Summer Edition

Who: Who else.
What: Dorm log!
Where: Student and Teacher dorms, and quite possibly beyond campus. Frankly? I don't care where. Go have fun, kids.
When: The span of June 14 - June 28th. Pick a date.
Warnings: Yeah, it got pretty naughty in here.

Ripped off the last one and all its friends: Basically, here's how this works. We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment, but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!

Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Whatever you want. It can all be yours if you make a thread. Stay up all night watching reruns of Teenage Mutant Ninja Squirtles? Break out the ice cream and industrial fans to beat the heat? Get a bad suntan while you're asleep with the help of your friends? Whatever you get your bad self up to. Your good self is welcome, too. Now put your copy of Animal Crossing: New Leaf down for one second and tag this thing!

Connor does things

[personal profile] mohawk_tomahawk 2013-06-15 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
SCENARIO ONE: THE WOODS

Connor was still adamant about the food here. Not because he didn't trust it. He knew what he liked, he knew how to get it. So why bother? Someone show him what's it like to eat cheeseburgers.

When not patrolling or working, he was in the woods. Probably on the hunt.

Setting up snares and shooting arrows at prey. Good old meat. Find a snare? Find a dead thing? Find Connor skinning/cooking dead thing?

SCENARIO TWO: THE WORST JOB EVER (THE HALLS ALL OVER/HIS OFFICE

And now we go to the job he didn't like.

Well, he appreciated the income and boarding and all...but cleaning up your smelling sweat towels? Not his idea of fun. But he did it anyway, and with a straight face.

He was everywhere in this job; the common room, the halls, the classrooms...at some point he was at some place. Partaking in some modern activity (movies, video games, etc) might make Connor cock an eyebrow. He kinda liked some board games though too.

His office didn't look like a janitorial office at all should you see him there.

It was pristine clean. And probably very professional looking sans sometimes his weapons lying around. He didn't keep much personal here at all...Someone get him out of there for god's sake.

SCENARIO THREE: THE LAKE

HE STILL PATROLS HERE, WHAT A SHOCKER RIGHT.

Doing things similar here from the woods but hell, this is an option.

SCENARIO FOUR: THE TOWN (NIGHT ONLY; HOOD ON)
Hopping off rooftops, avoiding those damn robots.

This felt too much like home, being sneaky while investigating. Being full on with his gear and hiding in the shadows. Unless if you catch him on the rooftops looking on the town while YOU'RE INVESTIGATING, he tries to not be seen at all.

Eggman...Phoenix and what he said bothered Connor deep in his gut. What could that man be plotting? To what end? Nothing good. Martial law be damned. All this plus the drugs...Connor was a very busy man.

But sometimes, he hit the pub. Not to drink. But to maybe get info there.

Also yeah, I'm talking about the bar Desmond might be in.

scenario 2

Well this wasn't something Innes ever expected to see. Innes had passed the common room with something in his hand, which he shoved into his pants pocket.

"I thought you were a warrior, not a maid." It wasn't necessarily a jab at him, more of a flat, emotionless statement. Some warriors had domestic abilities, of course, particularly retainers, but he never took Connor as the retainer type.
mohawk_tomahawk: KATE (over my shoulder)

you prick, innes

[personal profile] mohawk_tomahawk 2013-06-17 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
You may have not meant for that to be a jab.

But Connor did.

He never complained about his job, in the presence of others in particular. But if there was one thing that did bug him truly? He was a warrior. He was a fighter. He had that pride. You make him seem less of one because of this labor? It pissed him off. But this was Innes, he had to get over it. Because this was who he was.

"Prince Innes," Connor replied softly, he put his broom on his cart. "Yet I am given currency and shelter for it. I am grateful for that."

it's a talent, really

[personal profile] superior_archer 2013-06-17 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Innes folded his arms, frowning like usual for no particular reason at all. It was hard to say he was capable of any other expressions. Smirking and frowning.

"Certainly someone with your skill set could be put to better use." Better than sweeping up someone else's filth. In a camp, perhaps that would be expected. Everyone did their part. But this wasn't camp. It was a hellhole masquerading as a school. "Unless you're all talk and no play."
mohawk_tomahawk: KATE (shiny lips)

worst talent

[personal profile] mohawk_tomahawk 2013-06-17 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
You could've stopped. You could've dropped it.

Again, if you weren't serious, Connor wasn't taking it like that.

All talk, huh? Was he asking for a fight? For a spar? In a way in which was unusual and uncalled for, you were getting under his skin. He almost ignored him completely. But he didn't. That would cause worse problems.

Don't feed the troll. Then the troll wins. He ignored him partially as he silently picked up a bottle of cleaning spray.

"Which is why when I am done here, I am to report to my patrol post."
superior_archer: by <user name=satrugha> (awkward)

absolutely

[personal profile] superior_archer 2013-06-17 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Funny story, Innes wasn't always aware of how harshly his words could sound. For him, it was often being truthful and straightforward, but to others he was just a dick. Perhaps it was the delivery.

"Pity," Innes frowned some more. "I'm certain I could pay you a lot better than whatever pittance you're getting here for cleaning up someone else's filth." He was a prince, probably disgustingly rich, who seemed to have a fondness for mercenaries.
mohawk_tomahawk: KATE (smug)

[personal profile] mohawk_tomahawk 2013-06-18 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)
This sounded...weird. Okay, if you wanted his full attention. You now had it. Connor wasn't bought. He never really saw himself as a mercenary. He did the righteous thing for others and did favors sure, but he wasn't sure he was keen on some rich guy wanting to pay for services under a certain order.

It just didn't seem right. It was the breaking point passed doing a job that he was hired to do involving dirty work to doing someone else's dirty work that they didn't want to do.

He looked at Innes blankly. "Prince Innes, if there is something you want from me, then say it."

[personal profile] superior_archer 2013-06-18 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Innes didn't offer propositions he didn't fully plan on carrying through.

"I know you're good at getting information," Innes replied. Fighting, he wasn't certain on. He hadn't actually seen Connor do any fighting. But information, he'd shown his worth. "I would pay you to be my informant. If you're not interested, however, we'll just end this conversation here and forget I said anything."

[personal profile] mohawk_tomahawk 2013-06-18 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
If it was a job he was hired to do, sure. He would like to be paid. But as far as he knew, anyone who needed his services on the serious matters or the truest of true favors?...No money was needed. He put up a hand.

But if Innes was speaking true, he needed him for something. Something very important. Important enough to go on a hunt.

Information.

"No money is needed for that," Connor said, remembering the woods. Innes can hate him all he wants, they made a pact of semi-partnership. They were in cahoots. "What information are you looking for?"
superior_archer: by <user name=satrugha> (fold arms)

[personal profile] superior_archer 2013-06-19 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Surprising, though not very much. At this point, Innes had fully expected to pay Connor for his skills, regardless of their somewhat shaky pact. It seemed only fair but if he refused, he refused.

Innes glanced over his shoulder for a moment. With all the business with those gods-forsaken robots, he had become more cautious in the hallways. "I'm still looking for information on the source of this fighting. Despite what people seem to think, something is going on. I've been in the city. I've nearly been killed by a random gang on the street. They almost don't seem human anymore, but what happened to them, I can't figure out."

There were a lot of theories running through Innes's head. Dark magic was always the predominant idea, as that was knowledge from experience.

"I had one lead, yet he turned out to be a idealistic nonsense-spouting fool." he then added, "unless you feel inclined in investigating my roommate. He's nothing short of creepy and suspicious." Hard to tell if he was serious with that or not.
mohawk_tomahawk: KATE (to pity)

[personal profile] mohawk_tomahawk 2013-06-20 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
Tell him something he didn't know, everything was still so screwed up and Connor didn't trust this "peace".

"I believe there is something unfolding with this martial law. I have some knowledge on our dear 'protector', Dr. Robotnik. The man is mad, from what I have been told on his past."

...He let him finish.

"...Your roommate?"
superior_archer: by <user name=satrugha> (frown)

[personal profile] superior_archer 2013-06-20 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
That only confirmed his suspicions about their 'protector'. "Makes sense. It takes a mad man to enact oppressive rule," Innes frowned. Or someone incredibly gullible, but Robotnik didn't seem that type. He seemed more insane. "Or one to spout loudly over the network about how he wants to revolutionize the city."

Oh yes, the roommate. "Henry. Doubtful he's involved with this odd behavior about the city, but he's up to something. He's always smiling like he has something to hide."
mohawk_tomahawk: KATE (glaring look)

[personal profile] mohawk_tomahawk 2013-06-21 04:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly, and Connor would know about that. "Be it King, general, or even ordinary...one who uses such resources and spouts all that nonsense to the public cannot be the medicine this city should swallow."

But then...what about this roommate? Connor didn't get why this guy was a problem. He might be loony, but....

"Do you have any proof of this? Do you know of anything he had committed?"
superior_archer: by <user name=satrugha> (lounge)

[personal profile] superior_archer 2013-06-21 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"Certainly not," Innes agreed. "This man is full of himself, and many people are too blind to see past the superficial fixes. It's like fashioning a lost limb out of twigs and calling it fixed."

As for the roommate, it was more of a side thought than anything else. "He mostly threatens to hex and curse people. He has yet to act upon these threats, so he seems nothing more than a nuisance who always seems to be plotting something. Just a side thought, truly."

[personal profile] mohawk_tomahawk 2013-06-21 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"It is very easy to fabricate truths from lies. It is important to reveal the lies, and fix the problem."

Hexing..? Cursing? More sorcery? Connor had seen some, heard of it in this land but. Hrm.

"...It might not have any relation to this. But if you think he is up to something, let me know. I will see to it harm befalls no one."

[ HOLY SHIT!!!! I AM!! HIII!!! HOW DID I NOT NOTICE THIS? ]

"Getting people to believe may be a problem, and even if some do, they may not wish to change the current situation." Innes doubted he'd come across one who held loyalty to this crazed scientist or whoever was responsible for this pandemonium throughout the city, yet he wasn't about to rule out the possibility. There were many factors at play here. "It'll take some work but we need to know more about the situation before we can make a proper move."

And as for Henry. Well he was a different situation altogether. "If I don't deal with him first." Which probably meant Henry wouldn't live anymore.

[ HIIIII!!! IDK HOW I DIDN'T REALIZE THIS EITHER! I saw meru post, then I saw Garry's comments in the post and I was like, no freaking way. XD ]
