After a relatively normal bus ride, you find yourself at a secluded mountain resort.

"I was just accompanying you," she explained. "I didn't particularly need anything to drink. If you do, however, why not get yourself something and when you return, you can tell me what you wished to speak with me about."

And though she said it all kindly, she felt minutely professional with him, despite the way things had gone. Or perhaps she was professional because of how history had been written.

"...I have spoken to you on the subject I wished to, though I would like to continue it as well."

Wasn't that obvious though? He was never one to beat around the bush with things. Well, things that weren't those issues he wanted to keep hidden.

"That said, I had invited you for a drink because it is the custom to do so, although those who delve into the hot springs must remember to keep hydrated for health purposes."

Because that was the perfect thing to say to someone in this situation.

She blinked at him, wondering what kind of percentage content of water her body had. As both a human and a gardevoir. And she realised she had no idea how human bodies really worked. She thought it was mighty convenient to have working hands, wiggling fingertips, and spreading toes, but when it came down to what a human body really needed in comparison to pokemon... Voile was still a bit lost.

She'd only liked using the form for its luxuries. Perhaps she'd taken it for granted.

"Custom to do so?" Voile asked on the verge of feeling a tad stupid to be inquiring. "Human custom, you mean?"

"Yes, in this organized form," he admitted, "though many species congregate around water for socialization." After a pause, he added "I believe Ralts do so, correct?"

He was uncomfortable, eyes losing focus and staring into the distance as his thoughts grew deeper. He had cloistered himself to shed his emotions and regain his devotion, yet being around her distracted him again. Paranoia, that she could read him. If he had even a shred of emotion left in him, she would know it.

"I didn't personally," she explained. "But I was something... a little out of the norm, I guess." Her head tipped a little as she gave thought to her siblings and her family, things she didn't particularly like remembering. Perhaps if they'd had a better way to part... it wouldn't have been so painful. Yet not a bit of it flickered across her youthful face.

Instead, her attention turned onto him. Where his worries sat, she had no desire to pry into him. It was too late for that. Too much had happened between them. Too many things had been said and done. Too hard had a heart broken. Too long it had been for Voile to be remotely put back together.

"Are you all right?" she asked him pointedly.

He stalled a bit before answering. "I...was similar." Before anything could be made of that, he added "I had not given thought to you as a child. Clearly it is obvious, but it is something that evades thought."

When he said that, she wondered if he was that he wasn't exactly normal. In her opinion, that was obvious. Humans were all very interesting creatures with different habits that each one developed. But Cyrus definitely stood out. She'd never met another being like him, with his facial expressions, or his passions, or his lack thereof.

In that respect, Professor Cyrus of Sinnoh was an unforgettable man. Even as much as she wanted to erase him from her memories.

"I guess so," she agreed, unsure of what she was agreeing to or with. "Some people change with time, too. It's unrealistic to expect society to even stay the same with the way ideals and feelings evolve."

"We have all changed considerably in our lives. Even in our time here we have changed. Time, as it does, marches on. It does so until the end of the universe...the end of the universe is specifically the end of time. That which brings about an eternal pass..."

He was drifting again, as he did when he became overwhelmed or anxious. As such, he became increasingly hard to understand.

For a few moments, she thought about letting him ramble on. Another stage of familiarity. Not necessarily madness, but something like it. But she also thought if he found out she was letting him do that without real conscious thought as to what he was spilling out, he likely wouldn't appreciate it.

So she leaned over and tapped her fingertips to the table's surface. And then she snapped her fingers because that was a safer alternative to touching him, in her opinion. "Cyrus."

It's like the fun never ends.
