What: HOT SPRINGS: HOTEL EDITION
Where: The hot springs RESORT.
When: March 25th - March 29th
Warnings: Hotel shenanigans.

After a relatively normal bus ride, you find yourself at a secluded mountain resort.



The hotel is all-inclusive, with every manner of amenities and activities (skewed toward the relaxing--with saunas and spas and hot tubs aplenty) to keep one occupied for a full five days. Time for some much needed R & R.

It's dangerous to go alone. Take this!

BLAZE - ANY TIME

Blaze had very simple pleasures, and relaxing and taking in the sights of the resort suited her just fine. But would her peace and quiet last?

While Celes' pleasures could hardly be considered simple, she still very much enjoyed viewing beautiful scenery. Thankfully, this resort had that resource in excess, with the added bonus of peace and quiet. So it was only natural that she decided to take a look around this place. Eventually, she happened to run into Blaze. She'd seen her around the school, but never bothered to make conversation.

Ah well. No time like the present.

Blaze was brought out of her reverie by Celes' question. She looked down to see the girl approaching, and nodded. "I am. It's beautiful out here," she explained, looking back up at the trees. "Are you here for the scenery as well?" she asked.

She nods, looking over the scenery. "Indeed. It's been quite some time since I've bore witness to such a lovely scene. Far too long, really." saying that brings up uncomfortable feelings, but she puts those thoughts towards the back of her mind and keeps up her friendly smile.

"What about you? Do you have a view like this back home?" wherever that was.

She nodded with a small smile. "I like to think the view back home is even more beautiful," she explained. "I hope to see it again soon."

"Even more beautiful?" echoed Celes, with a hint of surprise in her words. "That sounds remarkable. Would you be so kind as to tell me more about your home?"

"It's a beautiful place," she explained, seeming almost wistful as she described it. "It's a city on the water filled with old, majestic architecture. Brick and marble, ornate gates and bridges... And on the edge of a lush, green forest filled with life, and the remains of an old palace overgrown with moss and vines..." She stopped herself, looking down. "I'm sorry, I was rambling," she apologized.

As Blaze went on to describe her home, Celes could almost picture the scene in her head once she closed her eyes. However, just as the image was starting to form so perfectly, the descriptions stopped abruptly, dragging the gambler back into the "real world". Such a pity, though she wasn't about to let her thoughts be known.

"Nonsense." she began, waving her hand dismissively. "Please, continue. I seldom mind when others go on and on about beauty."

"Oh... All right then," she replied. Not the response she was expecting, but fine by her. She sat back, getting back into the story. "My friend Marine lives on a small island called Windmill Island. It's home to a small fishing town, and is in the middle of a vast ocean dotted with small islands. She's an enthusiastic young sailor, hungry for adventure. I haven't seen her in some time now..."

"I see." she said, nodding at Blaze. "That all sounds very peaceful. Certainly a place worth missing, I'm sure."

Celes pauses for a second, thinking about what she was told with a fist raised upwards to cover her mouth. "If you don't mind me asking, why can you not simply return home?"

"Because I've lost something... And I can't return home until I've found it," she explained, being intentionally vague in her answer.

"You...lost something?" echoed Celes. "Whatever you lost, it mustn't be a simple trinket. Certainly something important, yes?"

Valuable, perhaps. Or maybe it was one of those sentimental items...

"Very important. To me and my world."

[trumped_card]

"Oh my!" how strange...and interesting. "Would you mind going into a bit more detail?"

[vela_nova]

"At the moment I'd rather not go into specifics," she explained. "Sufficed to say that they are very important, and until I find them, my world is in danger."

Curiouser and curiouser. Honestly, all of this sounds like something straight out of some source of fiction. Hahahahaha.

"Could you tell me what they look like? Perhaps I would be able to assist you." and by "assist", she meant "stumble across". Because she's not going to dig around for whatever they are.

Blaze sighed. It was one thing for her friends to offer their help, but for complete strangers to do so... She felt like a failure, and that they were taking pity on her. "They are colored gemstones that radiate energy," she said simply. "But I do not intend to offload my burden to anyone else. I'll find them. I appreciate your intentions."

She nodded in response. "Very well. If that is what you wish I will not arguewith you." not that she truly cared much anyway. "With that said, I am afraid I must be off. Do take care, Miss...?"

"Blaze," she introduced herself. "And thank you."

Sable had just gotten out from the hot springs, feeling positively relaxed and refreshed. She was still looking just a little bit red from being in the springs for so long, but really, when was the next time they would be going here? Probably not for a very long time, that's for sure.

On her way towards her room, she noticed Blaze and immediately went towards her instead. "Hello, Blaze," she said as she approached the cat with a small wave. "Are you enjoying yourself?"

She nodded with a smile. "I am, and I hope you are as well," she replied. "I can't recall the last time I was so relaxed..."

"Oh yes, I'm doing very well..." she trailed off, looking out through the window, content. "I can't think the last time I was so relaxed either...it's been very good to get out from the school and just forget about everything, don't you think?"

Blaze nodded in agreement. "I think we all needed an escape, if only for a short while," she explained. "It feels almost too decadent here."

“That’s so true,” Sable concurred, really taking in the sights from outside the window. Now that they were all out from the school, Sable was determined not to even think about all of the chaos that was going on in the city.

She turned to Blaze with a big smile on her face. “Do you have anything fun planned while we’re here at the hot springs?”

"To be honest, no," Blaze said. "Although I suppose to me, not planning anything is as much of a vacation as I can have. It's nice to just relax and not worry for a few days, as fleeting as it may be."
