What: Meteor shower time! SO INTENSE
Where: Anywhere you choose~
When: futuredated, Thursday, August 12th. Any time that's dark is good for seeing stars, 8 or later; it goes in to the early morning of the 13th, too.

Just as promised, tonight was going to be a night full of shooting stars.

From anywhere in Final Destination City, these beautiful streaks of light can be seen dashing across the sky. Why not use the night to take your date out and watch the stars together? Perhaps a new relationship could form. Or break. Maybe a wish could come true. The sky was simply stunning, and the weather allowed for a comfortable atmosphere. It's a nice night to go out and watch the night sky.

[[OOC: Go ahead and make your own character threads! Mark them with a time so people don't throw babies into 4 o'clock threads if they shouldn't be there. That'd be awesome. Go nuts. If you need some more information, I based it off of the Perseid meteor shower, so hopefully that could help you out.]]

"Maybe this little drama was what you needed. I've never actually see you like this with Silver before... If things continue to get better, perhaps you can get back together through Silver. I mean, think about it," he smiled.

"If you were to patch things up with Silver, that would show her that you've become a better man.."

Hmm, he'd never thought about it quite like that. Of course, he'd been so concerned with keeping his son in sight this week that he hadn't though of much else.

"...Interesting. Perhaps you are right." He stroked his chin in thought, "It is a long road, but it's definitely better than even a few months ago. Do you recall that hallucination incident?"

Raikov tilted his head slightly, "Yes, what about it?"

"Hm, I don't believe I told you what mine was about..." He then recounted what he had seen (http://breaks-ground.livejournal.com/5396.html) -not hard, as that wasn't something easily forgotten. "I believe Silver's was something also traumatic, because he ended up crying in my arms after he asked me if I loved him. He refuses to admit that it happened, but...he doesn't seem quite as hostile as before. There's been more things since then, like when we turned into animals..." He tilted his head, "it's almost as if it can be as subtle as the plates beneath our feet shifting one moment, and as obvious as an earthquake another time."

"... Strange, how such things can happen in this place, isn't it?" Raikov said after taking a moment to think things over. "Divine intervention is what some call it, right?"

"Or some such. Honestly, half the stuff going wrong I've figured as some dort of punishment for my past life...maybe it is more of an intervention instead of a retribution. I mean, as hellish as last week was, I have my son back, unharmed...granted he doesn't seem that grateful, but..."

"Someday he might. If my father risked all that to save my life? I would be grateful."

He allowed a low growl of thought to vibrate in his throat, "Perhaps so. I suppose it is a matter of one day at a time. Right now I'm just concerned for his safety...but how much is too much, I have to wonder."

"I couldn't say. I'm not a parent and more than likely never will be." He shrugged. "Don't coddle him too much though."

"Heh, I doubt he'd let me even if I tried to." He chuckled, nodding, "I know better than to spoil him too much, though. He already thinks he is higher over me, why give him that as a foothold?"

To the other, he thought for a moment, "Not even adoption?"

"Smart man." He smirked - but then his expression changed at the thought of Volgin being a parent.

"... I'm not quite sure that would work out."

"Hm...truth be told, my wife and I were starting to consider adopting about a year before I left. We'd been trying for another for years, but," he sighed, "It didn't work out well."

He looked over at Raikov's drawing, "very nice!" When it came to night pictures, he prefered photography for what he did...hm, next time he was in Viridian, he'd have to make a point to locate his nice camera.

"I'd say it was for the best." Giovanni already had trouble with this one...

He perked up though at the comment. "Why, thank you."

"Yes...still, we always wanted a little girl." He seemed a bit wistful, saying that. Odd, that.

Silver snuggled closer in his arms, and he chuckled, "when he was younger, we'd stargaze together all the time. He always fell asleep though...sort of like now." Hm, that reminded him. He carefully brought the thermos out, and the bag of cookies. "Want one? I also have some hot chocolate if you want it."

"yes, please. I've said it once and I'll keep saying it, despite that you disagree, but you spoil me, Vanni." Raikov grinned.

THAT got the Geology teacher rather red-faced, though he poured the hot chocolate anyway, "I'm...glad you like it...where'd you hear that?"

"Your uncle."

Crap, he had forgotten that his uncle had called him that in front of the Russian.

"...Merda, he did, didn't he?" The blush didn't abate in the least as he handed the bag to Raikov.

"Indeed, he did." Raikov laughed before tossing a cookie into his mouth.

...Not many people called him that, to be honest.

"...I don't actually mind your using it, just...it's a rather personal, private nickname, so if you don't mind, I'd rather you use it when it's just the two of us."

He decided to flip the embarassment a bit, "Have any nicknames of your own?"

"Of course," he nodded. "I didn't plan on using it again, actually. As for nicknames of my own.. sadly, no. The only nickname I have is reserved for one person."

"Heh, I don't mind it, Ivan."

He smiled at the second statement, "Your lover, hm? How special." He was guessing of course, but it made sense. "I suppose I'll have to stick with just Ivan for now, unless I think of a nice nickname of my own for you." He chuckled quietly at the thought. He felt...relaxed right now; he could let his guard down around this man. Ivan felt like a brother to him, in some ways...

A brother that was physically attracted to him. Raikov was glad the other man felt comfortable around him - and the feeling was mutual. Groznyj Grad was nothing like this. The only person that he could confide in there was Volgin, and occasionally Ocelot. He didn't fully trust his comrade though, not like he did Volgin.

So to have trust-worthy and caring friends was... both unusual and wonderful.

"I suppose you could say my given name is as close to a nickname as you'll get. I don't allow many people to call me by Ivan, after all.."

Meh, he could handle the physical attraction. And yes, having a trust-worthy friend was rare indeed.

"Hm, I see. I suppose I'll have to be happy with that, for now." It was said in a light-hearted way. He sat quietly for a moment, just watching Silver sleep, before asking, "Is it alright to call you that in front of him, or should I switch back to being formal when he's around?" He didn't want to offend Raikov's lover, after all, and he had a feeling that the man might be a bit stronger than he.
He didn't know the half of it.

That was a good question. "Hn.. I don't think you have to be formal. I've told him that I have friends here.. and it shows that I trust you."
