What: Meteor shower time! SO INTENSE
Where: Anywhere you choose~
When: futuredated, Thursday, August 12th. Any time that's dark is good for seeing stars, 8 or later; it goes in to the early morning of the 13th, too.

Just as promised, tonight was going to be a night full of shooting stars.

From anywhere in Final Destination City, these beautiful streaks of light can be seen dashing across the sky. Why not use the night to take your date out and watch the stars together? Perhaps a new relationship could form. Or break. Maybe a wish could come true. The sky was simply stunning, and the weather allowed for a comfortable atmosphere. It's a nice night to go out and watch the night sky.

[[OOC: Go ahead and make your own character threads! Mark them with a time so people don't throw babies into 4 o'clock threads if they shouldn't be there. That'd be awesome. Go nuts. If you need some more information, I based it off of the Perseid meteor shower, so hopefully that could help you out.]]

"Yes...still, we always wanted a little girl." He seemed a bit wistful, saying that. Odd, that.

Silver snuggled closer in his arms, and he chuckled, "when he was younger, we'd stargaze together all the time. He always fell asleep though...sort of like now." Hm, that reminded him. He carefully brought the thermos out, and the bag of cookies. "Want one? I also have some hot chocolate if you want it."

"yes, please. I've said it once and I'll keep saying it, despite that you disagree, but you spoil me, Vanni." Raikov grinned.

THAT got the Geology teacher rather red-faced, though he poured the hot chocolate anyway, "I'm...glad you like it...where'd you hear that?"

"Your uncle."

Crap, he had forgotten that his uncle had called him that in front of the Russian.

"...Merda, he did, didn't he?" The blush didn't abate in the least as he handed the bag to Raikov.

"Indeed, he did." Raikov laughed before tossing a cookie into his mouth.

...Not many people called him that, to be honest.

"...I don't actually mind your using it, just...it's a rather personal, private nickname, so if you don't mind, I'd rather you use it when it's just the two of us."

He decided to flip the embarassment a bit, "Have any nicknames of your own?"

"Of course," he nodded. "I didn't plan on using it again, actually. As for nicknames of my own.. sadly, no. The only nickname I have is reserved for one person."

"Heh, I don't mind it, Ivan."

He smiled at the second statement, "Your lover, hm? How special." He was guessing of course, but it made sense. "I suppose I'll have to stick with just Ivan for now, unless I think of a nice nickname of my own for you." He chuckled quietly at the thought. He felt...relaxed right now; he could let his guard down around this man. Ivan felt like a brother to him, in some ways...

A brother that was physically attracted to him. Raikov was glad the other man felt comfortable around him - and the feeling was mutual. Groznyj Grad was nothing like this. The only person that he could confide in there was Volgin, and occasionally Ocelot. He didn't fully trust his comrade though, not like he did Volgin.

So to have trust-worthy and caring friends was... both unusual and wonderful.

"I suppose you could say my given name is as close to a nickname as you'll get. I don't allow many people to call me by Ivan, after all.."

Meh, he could handle the physical attraction. And yes, having a trust-worthy friend was rare indeed.

"Hm, I see. I suppose I'll have to be happy with that, for now." It was said in a light-hearted way. He sat quietly for a moment, just watching Silver sleep, before asking, "Is it alright to call you that in front of him, or should I switch back to being formal when he's around?" He didn't want to offend Raikov's lover, after all, and he had a feeling that the man might be a bit stronger than he.
He didn't know the half of it.

That was a good question. "Hn.. I don't think you have to be formal. I've told him that I have friends here.. and it shows that I trust you."

♥ What a nice thing to hear, that someone in this strange place trusted him. He handed the hot chocolate to Ivan. "Alright then. Still, I'll be careful around him when we meet, whenever that is, until I can get a better feel of him." Not physically, of course.

Hm, this talk of friends stirred something in his mind. He smiled gently, "By the way, I know I've said it before...but thank you for your help last week. I don't know what I would have done without you. The fact I asked you for your help...shows that trust is mutual."
Gah, what a hard thing to say...to put himself out there like that was such a foreign feeling.

Gasp, that made his cheeks flush a little. For such a dark past, Giovanni was a wonderful man. .. He hoped Volgin would be able to grow a little from this place as well. The man only knew war. Peace was a foreign concept to him, which worried Raikov. But he'd do everything in his power to help his lover.

"Please.. it's the least I could do. You've.. been a wonderful friend."

He saw that, Raikov. :3 He finds it cute- in the way an older brother finds a younger sibling cute.

Truth be told, if he hadn't come here, had he not first found a confidant in Mac, he probably would have been too suspicious of everyone to trust, to grow. He had always been a bit closed off, even as a child and teen, letting few people into his little world. Sure, he was still cautious here...but he felt himself opening up a little more. With Raikov and Mac, anyway. It'd be awhile before he learned to trust easily, if he ever did. Too many old wounds to trust easily, for now.

"Well..." Sob why was being open so difficult, "I don't know why, but...I felt some sort of connection to you, when we first spoke...and ever since then, I've become increasingly...comfortable, around you. Besides Mac, it's been years since I experienced that...I think the last person I connected with like this besides him...Was her. How interesting."

To the idea of him being 'a wonderful friend', he laughed quietly, though this time there was a sardonic edge to it. An ex-crime lord, a wonderful friend? The concepts didn't quite fit in the puzzle of his mind. "How so? Besides the 'spoiling'?" He still found that a humourous concept. Besides that, he was genuinely curious.

Raikov playfully poked Giovanni's cheek, his cheeks still a bit rosy. "We have a lot in common and.. it's nice to be able to have someone you can trust. We've been through a good deal, haven't we? And we've been there for each other."

Placing Silver gently on the grass, he put on a fake "how immature" expression, even as he poked Raikov back, "Yes, it is. I don't have any brothers, but I can't help but feel something similar to what I would if I did. A certain fondness, I suppose..." A thought popped up, and he chuckled, "Gattino.'

"I'm an only child myself." He puffed out his cheek when Gio returned the poke, then raised an eyebrow. "Hey, no fair! I don't speak Italian."

Finally, his words registered and the pout disappeared.

"... Me? .. You.. think of me as a.. brother?"

He rubbed the back of his neck, "Yes...don't know when it happened, but I just realized it as we've been talking." He smiled, "Family's quite important in Italian culture, and even in Kanto, to an extent. I had many adopted 'Uncles' growing up, in addition to my real ones. Sadly, not many adopted brothers. So yes, I do."

The small smile changed to a grin, "and 'Gattino' is the word for 'kitten', my dear Ivan. Hmm, perhaps we should strive to teach each other our languages. My Russian isn't that great..."

Kitten, huh..? Raikov let out a cat sounding purr as he leaned closer to Gio. "I'm honored you think so highly of me.. and that sounds like an interesting idea."

That...had backfired a bit. He had meant it in a playful manner, certainly, but more jokingly than it had come across. He leaned back a bit, growling quietly deep in his throat, uncounciously, like he had as a Mightyena. Eyebrow raised, he couldn't help but reply, "Yes, it does...and what are you doing?"
