What: Cherry Blossom Festival
When: April 10th - 18th
Where: All over town & campus. Wherever you find a cherry tree. Probably even up there on that mystery island for whatever reason, if you're so inclined.
Rating: Flower power.





Pink is everywhere. No matter where you look, you're sure to see the signs of soft pink and white blossoms. There's a fresh spark of life filling the air and just beckoning for everyone to come outside and enjoy the sweet scents of spring. Well, except for you, people with springtime allergies. They just want to make you miserable. But perhaps for everyone else, it was a wonderful amazing time to be had.



There are wonderful spots for picnicking! Frolic inducing atmosphere and the space to do it! Every so often you will see vendors selling treats for the event! Cosplayers taking advantage of their natural environments for photo ops! Hot date spots! Blossoms! Sparkles! Everywhere! Even when it rains.

This log is completely open! You can do whatever you'd like with whomever you'd like whenever you'd like. Just start up a thread and go!

"There's some standin' bikes in the gym." Joel pointed out. "Hell. I got nothin' else going on this afternoon, if you want company."

[iamtheeggman]

"I can't believe I'm agreeing to this," Eggman grumbled. "Very well."

[golonghorns]

"Can't believe I'm offerin', t'be frank with you."

It wasn't as though being seen with that crazy robot guy who everyone seemed to hate was going to increase his social standing at all.

"So, who's the, uh... Lucky Lady?" he asked, having no idea who anyone was seeing, considering he kept well away from all that sort of foolishness.

[iamtheeggman]

"Madam Flurrie," Eggman grumped, trying to straighten himself up despite his exhaustion. "The drama instructor."

Eggman's social standing couldn't exactly get any lower, so it's not like he seemed to care much.

[golonghorns]

"I've seen her around. She's a purple sort of... cloud lady, isn't she?"

Even after all his time here - more than a year - he was still unused to the idea of Humans and Non-Humans forming Those sorts of bonds. Friends, he could see. Romance? Maybe he was a little old fashioned, but he couldn't help thinking he'd be more comfortable keeping it In-Species.

"WELL. YES. But she can humanize. And she's a GORGEOUS SPECIMEN!" he proclaimed.

[golonghorns]

"I ain't saying anything to the contrary." Joel replied with a shrug. Not because he found her drop dead gorgeous or anything. Just because even a apocalypse hobo of some twenty years knew better than to be honest about his opinion of another man's Fiancée when what he had to say wasn't overly flattering.

I just can't imagine marrying a cloud.

"She onboard with your whole... animals inside robots thing?"

[iamtheeggman]

"She... hasn't said anything to the contrary."

Well it was true...

"Sounds like a keeper."

Tess, at least, admitted out loud many times that she and Joel were both pretty shitty people. And she was. And he was. And it had worked pretty damn well for them until she'd decided they needed to get Ellie where she was going...

Damn.

"Anyway, when's th' big day?"

[iamtheeggman]

"We... haven't set an exact date yet," Eggman answered. "It will be soon! But we have much to plan first... I've promised her a dream wedding, and by God, she will have her dream wedding!"

[golonghorns]

"You ever plan a wedding before?"

Frankly, Joel wasn't convinced.

"Or you gonna hire one of them services that does it for you?"

Eggman stopped in his tracks. He also held out his arm to stop Joel in his tracks as well. He turned to the man with a look of shock on his face.

"There are SERVICES THAT PLAN WEDDINGS FOR YOU?!"

[golonghorns]

"...uh. Yeah, man." Joel replied, a little surprised by this lack of knowledge. "Wedding planners. I mean, they existed in my world, so, I'd be real shocked if they don't got 'em here."

He pulled his phone from his pocket and loaded up Guurgle.

"Let's take a look see."

[iamtheeggman]

"I'VE BEEN ENGAGED FOR YEARS NOW. HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS?!" Eggman asked very loudly. Perhaps it was his paranoia and self-assuredness that did it? Couldn't possibly be because he was a dumbass.

[golonghorns]

"..."

Joel wasn't going to comment.

But rest assured, there were several local services that offered wedding coordination and planning.

"There's a few. Bridezilla Boutique promises a monster shindig. Unholy Matrimony apparently caters to those of darker tastes - You might like that one. Diamond in the Ruff wedding planners looks to cater only to canines so we don't need 'em. Here, see what you think of 'em."

He handed Eggman the phone.

"Let me see that," Eggman said as he snatched the phone from Joel's hand, reading the list before him while adjusting his glasses. "Wedded Bliss... Cheap Weddings 4 U..."

He stopped at one link in particular. "What's this... Marrymore?" he asked, clicking it. "A five star resort that specializes in weddings... Photographers, caterers, hotel suites... It's PERFECT!"

Joel looked at his phone in Eggman's hands and whistled low under his breath.

"Looks pricey as all get-out."

His own wedding had been a very simple registry office deal which had lasted for a shorter amount of time than he cared to remember.

[iamtheeggman]

"Yes... So it seems," Eggman replied. He had been trying to ignore the price tag attached to the romantic getaway, but there Joel had to go and remind him that in the real world, things cost money. "But no matter! If this is the easiest way to give my bride-to-be her dream wedding, then it's worth it!"

[golonghorns]

"Kind'a makes me glad t'be single." Joel said. That was a hefty chunk of change! "But hey. More power to you."

[iamtheeggman]

"To be entirely fair, I never expected this to happen to me, but what can you do?" Eggman shrugged. How he ended up with a woman as wonderful as Flurrie in his life, he may never know. But even HE knew he didn't deserve her.

Joel took back his phone and slipped it into his pocket.

"Sure, no, I get it."

Frankly, most of the great relationships he'd ever had, even things like friendships and whatever it was he'd had with Ellie re: Surrogate Father, had come along without any preamble and entirely by accident.

"Well, anyway. Now that you got that figured out, let's get you on one of those bikes. See if we can't trim you down for that tux fittin'."

[iamtheeggman]

"Yes, let's. There's no time to lose!" he declared loudly, storming off towards the gym with the scruffy bastard.

Joel just found it kind of amusing that the guy seemed so intent on getting there. Like four minutes wasted walking slower was going to lose him the opportunity to drop fifteen pounds.

Once they arrived, Joel followed him down the stairs and started heading towards the bikes.

"You want a water from the vending machine before we go ridin'?" he asked. last thing he wanted to have to do was haul Robotnik to the Nurses' office if he fainted from dehydration.

In his mind? It just might. "Yes, sure, fine," he grumbled. Honestly he needed it, he'd been pushing himself so far. His ego and stubbornness were a dangerous combination, often for others, but just as often for himself. And even if he did appreciate the gesture, he wasn't about to say it.

Joel shrugged and got them each a water. They were pretty inexpensive so he really didn't mind doing it.

"Here." he said, tossing it in Eggman's direction. "Ketch."
