What: Cherry Blossom Festival
When: April 10th - 18th
Where: All over town & campus. Wherever you find a cherry tree. Probably even up there on that mystery island for whatever reason, if you're so inclined.
Rating: Flower power.





Pink is everywhere. No matter where you look, you're sure to see the signs of soft pink and white blossoms. There's a fresh spark of life filling the air and just beckoning for everyone to come outside and enjoy the sweet scents of spring. Well, except for you, people with springtime allergies. They just want to make you miserable. But perhaps for everyone else, it was a wonderful amazing time to be had.



There are wonderful spots for picnicking! Frolic inducing atmosphere and the space to do it! Every so often you will see vendors selling treats for the event! Cosplayers taking advantage of their natural environments for photo ops! Hot date spots! Blossoms! Sparkles! Everywhere! Even when it rains.

This log is completely open! You can do whatever you'd like with whomever you'd like whenever you'd like. Just start up a thread and go!

"First, I'll construct a containment unit that projects refracted energy to penetrate the skin and muscle tissue, stimulating growth at the cellular level," he began, starting to pedal again. "Then, nanomachines will start to break down fat cells into energy to fuel the process, AND trim the waistline! It's FOOLPROOF!"

Energy producing growth of cells sounded more like photosynthesis than Joel cared to comment on. He wasn't sure what kind of energy that you could project would do anything like hat the Good Doctor described.

"Just so long as you don't give yourself cancer or somethin'. Sounds like a crazy tanning bed, to me."

[iamtheeggman]

"Oh nothing of the sort! Just a little harmless Chaos energy! Well, mostly harmless. There's a slim chance you wouldn't explode in the process."

[golonghorns]

"Slim chance you wouldn't, or slim chance you would?"

Because one of those sounded way more appealing.

[iamtheeggman]

"Oh don't worry about it, forget I said anything. Incidentally, how would you like some free spontaneous muscle growth treatments?"

[golonghorns]

"Uh-huh. Pass." Joel replied, casting Eggman a glare that was part indignation part amusement. He was sure the other man knew that answer before it came.

"Besides. Wouldn't you be better off pickin' someone without much muscle tone to speak of anyway? Someone scrawny who's improvement'd be easier to measure?"

"Absolutely right! I'm sure there's some poor dope around here who wouldn't mind being a guinea pig--er, I mean test case!"

[golonghorns]

"Go for faculty." Joel suggested. "Leave the students be. If you can convince a member've staff to do it, things'll be easier."

Besides the fact that Joel didn't want to see any students come to harm.

"Good idea. They have less to lose," Eggman reasoned. "Of course, I just need to make sure that blue-haired lummox doesn't find out. He'll probably shout some nonsense about 'ill-begotten swole' or something like that and get spittle all over my suit."

"He's a pretty good Woodshop student." Joel commented.

He actually kind of liked Sonic.

It wasn't every day you met a four foot tall blue talking insectivore and could agree with him that chili dogs were one of the world's truly perfect joys.

"Not THAT blue haired lummox," Eggman corrected him. "I'm talking about the one shaped like a shipping container."

That's not to say he didn't hate Sonic with every fiber of his being. Because he did. Very much.

"Oh. Max." Joel commented, slowing down his pedaling and taking a drink. "Yeah. He's got some.... he's set in his ways when it comes to the gym. I've always been more of an 'if it works' do it kind've guy."

Except when it comes to craftsmanship in carpentry. That shit's about professionalism and you do it right, got dangit.

"Who knows what he'd try to do if he saw a machine like that? Probably try to punch it. Or bench press it. Either way, I can't stand the very notion!"

[golonghorns]

"He'd probably wonder what it was for. Dunno if he'd try and ruin it for you - I don't even think he made it up onto your carrier that day."

Because someone Max's size would be hard to miss, even on a huge airship like that.

"Probably only because NOBODY TOLD HIM," Eggman grumbled. "I swear, most of this school has it out for me."

[golonghorns]

"You ever wonder why that might be?" Joel asked. "I mean, someone told me about the whole... ah. Martial Law business from a while back."

It had rubbed Joel the wrong way immediately because he'd lived that reality in Boston, in the Zones. He'd hated it.

"If I'd lived under it, can't say I'd be any kind of fan."

Eggman growled a bit under his breath. Ooh that was a reminder he didn't need.

"Before I took control, the city was a hotbed of racial violence," Eggman explained. "I restored order, and got revenge for Madam Flurrie. I'd do it ALL again in a heartbeat. So what if I maybe overstepped my boundaries and started turning people into robots? The system worked!"

[golonghorns]

"Revenge... I can understand that much."

Said the man who'd slaughtered a hospital filled with Fireflies just to get to one person and make sure she got out alive. Sure, they had been in his way and would have killed him first, given the opportunity. But he had to admit there was a satisfaction in knowing they were gone. Couldn't come after her. He'd damned the whole Human race for the love of one child and had no real room to judge.

"How's that whole 'turning people into robots' thing work?"

[iamtheeggman]

"Trade secret," Eggman retorted. "But it IS a wonderfully fascinating process. For smaller animals, it's as easy as plugging a living creature into a mechanical shell. For larger organisms, I have something special for that."

[golonghorns]

"Straight outta science fiction, in my world." Joel replied. "We had this movie, Terminator, about machines who looked like people. Came back in time to kill particular folks. Worldwide phenomenon - I don't care for those sorts've movies, but I've seen a few of 'em. What you can do... man. Crazy for me to think that there's somethin' out there that can do that."

"I'm familiar with that movie," Eggman told him. "And time travel isn't science fiction. I've done it before. Many times in fact."

[golonghorns]

"You're shittin' me." Joel replied, suddenly very interested. Imagine if he could find that same technology. If he could take it home...

"The first time, I tried to take control of the Little Planet's Time Stones, magic relics that allow travel to the past and future. I conquered the Little Planet in the past to alter its history, but of course that blue rat undid all my hard work!" he started to grumble.

"The second time, I... acquired a device called the Time Eater, which I used to try and erase all of my mistakes from history. And, of course, the BLUE PEST RUINED EVERYTHING AGAIN!!!" he shouted angrily this time.

"He seems pretty good at that." Joel replied. Again, he actually kind of liked Sonic. He was an OK student and had enough of an attitude that Joel thought he'd go far in life despite being a four foot tall porcupine.

"Tech like that would do my world a whole heck'uva lot of good."
