What: HOT SPRINGS: HOT SPRINGS EDITION
Where: Hot springs. Different hot springs. Not the hot springs that turned everyone into six year olds.
When: March 25th - March 29th
Warnings: Cursed springs. Sex swapping.

Right outside the resort is the main attraction, a collection of natural hot springs, separated by gender with a co-ed spring in the middle. Despite it being late March, there's still a dusting of snow on the ground, making the warm springs all the more inviting.

If the main resort area is too crowded for you, there are whispers of a secluded, private spring down a secret path. It's supposed to be very nice--if you can find it.

"Ah- !" Henry gasped, landing on the jagged rocks that lined the springs. He might have stood back up from there, but he could easily feel the dull pain in his foot. It wouldn't do to mess with it. But it would do to press further in this conversation: Henry didn't see what the problem was.

"How? Withstand? Pfff, I don't get what you're going on about," he said, rubbing his hand against his side. "What do you mean?"

"I am a super-powered hedgehog with perfect strength."

Oh, yes, Shadow was skipping straight to the point here. He wasn't going to speak cryptically, let alone in a roundabout fashion at all. This one was clearly both dense and oblivious, whether or not it was a ruse. He had to ensure that everything he questioned was relayed expertly.

He tapped his foot. He was getting impatient. He wanted to know the mysteries behind this one now.

"My attacks should have caused agony, yet you are hardly in pain. Explain your durability." His impossible durability.

Now this made sense! So he wanted to know why Henry wasn't responsive when it came to pain, did he? Henry breathed out, an airy note accompanying his sigh.

"Soooo, why I'm not screaming and yelling in pain just 'cause you broke my foot? That's all?" he confirmed, tapping his cheek with a finger. "Easy-peasy: nerve damage. That's your answer! Pain stops hurting after what I've been through, hee hee~ Can't feel it yet. Is that why you kept on hurting me? That's pretty cruel, you know. What if I were just really good at acting?"

"Regardless of the situation, I find it tough to pity you. In fact, I fully do not."

Ouch. Shadow was being just a bit harsh! Ooooh, Mr. Hedgehog, those words cut. He lifted a brow, looking down to his foot and wondering if he really did break it. If so, that was kind of... hmmm...

He had to wonder if that nerve damage excuse was a lie, but he couldn't properly determine that now.

"You're lucky you aren't in pain, or else you would be writhing in agony. Count your blessings." If he wanted to nail this one at any point, he'd have to do more than just causing simple pain, but any further action wasn't necessary now.

"Hey, mister," Henry piped up, lifting a finger. "You never told me your name. I asked earlier, and I'm supposed to meet people. A name would be nice, since you hurt me and all. Right?"

Perhaps so, but did he have incentive to tell him his name at all? Actually, yes. Yes he did.

"My name is Shadow," he spoke softly, yet it was with an ominous and deep tone beneath it. "Remember my name well, because I highly advise that you stay out of my way." Lest he attempt to break the other foot.

"Hi Shadow~" Strangely enough, Henry wasn't daunted in the slightest. He waved at Shadow and then let his hand drop back down to rest at his side. "Whew, getting names here is like pulling teeth! Glad that wasn't too bad."

"Now that you mention it..."

Shadow grabbed onto his clothing, tugging at it and looking to him with a look most impish.

"Pulling teeth does sound like a fine idea. You'll be a fine guinea pig."

That sadistic, nasty little smirk said only one simple thing:

Run, motherfucker, run.

But he can't run! Heavens forbid he injure the foot he can't feel is hurting. Feet are important. You walk on them.

Henry tilted his head. "Eeehh? What, do you teach dentistry? I'd rather not leave these pearly whites in the hands of somebody without credentials."

Really, though, that stuff wasn't mattering to him. His hand roamed up to see if he could loosen Shadow's grip on his clothes. Why was he being treated so poorly right of the bat? Everybody's been doing this to him, it seemed... It didn't make any sense to Henry. But hey, if this was the game this guy wanted to play, he'd play along.

Oh.

Okay, that grin left so fast that even Sonic couldn't possibly keep up.

"Watch me carefully," Shadow stated deliberately, slowly, as if he were speaking to a child. He lifted his hand, leveled flat, a ways above his own head. "This is the point..."

He then brought his other hand down even lower, as low as it could go without him needing to bend.

"... and this is you. Now, leave." He brought his hands back to his sides and glared scornfully his way. "You make me sick."

"I think you're going to have to be the one to do the leaving," he said. At least someone around here was still smiling. "Dunno if I wanna walk on a broken foot. These weak bones of mine couldn't take much more of that, hee hee!"

"Just shut up before I break the other foot."

Shadow finally stomped off, hopping back into the water without care and wading his way over to another area of the springs. Nope, he had absolutely no patience for Mr. Smiley here. Sorry.

Henry didn't say anything as he watched Shadow walk off. How considerate, that he'd let him sit here without having to do the leaving thing on a broken foot. He was grateful for that, at least. But now what would he do...? Just sit there for a week or something?

He stared down. Oh well. He'd just stay there. And wait.
