Who: Errybody
What: HOT SPRINGS: HOT SPRINGS EDITION
Where: Hot springs. Different hot springs. Not the hot springs that turned everyone into six year olds.
When: March 25th - March 29th
Warnings: Cursed springs. Sex swapping.

Right outside the resort is the main attraction, a collection of natural hot springs, separated by gender with a co-ed spring in the middle. Despite it being late March, there's still a dusting of snow on the ground, making the warm springs all the more inviting.

If the main resort area is too crowded for you, there are whispers of a secluded, private spring down a secret path. It's supposed to be very nice--if you can find it.

Well hell, if he was going to be stuffed into a hotel room with another person, he might as well take advantage of the facilities while he was here. The heat was never his favorite thing, but when his body was as sore as it had been lately, it would do him some good. He went at a late hour, so he could look up at the stars as he sat in the heated water.

It's a good thing he didn't go at a late hour to avoid people, because Henry slept at odd intervals and tonight wasn't going to be a sleeping night at all. So when he noticed Jin enter the men's spring, he sat, crouched behind his rock and waited for him to get comfortable.

~~Then he jumped up and shouted, "SURPRIIIISE!" and blew a party noise maker.~~

Then, he decided to crawl up onto the dry rock. He scooted a bit closer to Jin's head and crossed his legs, but remained out of the water. What a strange boy... heck, he wasn't even dressed to go in the springs! But he was told to meet some of the staff and students while they were here, so...

"Hey there," Henry interrupted, slicing the silence of the air with his words. "The stars sure are pretty, aren't they?"

He had actually managed to surprise Jin, but the only reaction he got to the shock was complete stillness for a moment before he swung his gaze to give Henry a cold look. The blonde studied him, and then looked back up at the stars.

"... They are," he responded, a terseness to his voice.

"Ahaha, but with all of this bright stuff," Henry gestured to the lights that lit in the hotel rooms through the windows, "The stars don't shine as brilliantly. It's a shame, that people wanna trade in the light of the stars for those little electric capsules in there~."

After that, Henry pulls out a light bulb that he took from inside and shows it to Jin. "These things!"

Was this actually happening, or had Jin been drugged without him knowing it? He gave the lightbulb a look, eyebrow raised.

"... Yeah. I know what a lightbulb is." It occurred to him that this strange man might not, but any possible time travel scenario wouldn't excuse the odd aura he gave off.

"Oh. Good thing I tested you, 'cause I sure didn't," he said, brushing it off before studying the lightbulb intensely.

He rotated it around and around in his hands. "A 'light bulb'. You'd think they could have come up with a more creative name for this lightbulb than that, but really, it's cute. A light-up bulb." He hung it upside down from his thumb and forefinger, like the bulb of a plant. "By the way, my name's Henry. What's yours, mister?"

Jin dragged a hand through his hair, slicking his fringe out of his eyes with water in the process. He should have known better than to even try to get some quiet time to himself on this trip. He could hardly get any back on campus. And he hadn't even seen this kid before.

"Jin," he grumbled. Henry wasn't getting a last name, or job position, or anything like that. Not tonight. It was supposed to be Jin time, goddamn it.

"Nice to meet you, Jin~" Look at that, how charming, he was being so good at being a human. A little too late, it seemed, especially since he was hanging around the hot springs, fully clothed, waiting for people to just show up so he could bother them. That wasn't normal at all.

"I'm supposed to be a student at this place called 'Smash Academy', I guess. I wonder what it's like? I hope there's as much smashing as the name implies, hee hee!"

He sighed, sinking a little deeper into the hot water. Why this.

"It's not much."

"Oh? Do you go there?" he asked Jin, sliding a bit closer.

Unfortunately... "... I teach," Jin grumbled.

"Wooow, I met a teacher!" he proclaimed, giggling. "What do you teach?"

He shot Henry another withering look.

"Traditional Weaponry. You don't seem to have a weapon on you."

"Sure I do! Dunno if it counts as something you'd cover, buuuuut..."

Henry whips out a purple-bound book. He holds it out in front of him.

"I'm always armed. I wouldn't wanna miss out on an opportunity to kill someone~"

Oh. Good. This guy was... all kinds of stable. He looks at the book like it's going to bite him.

"I don't cover magic." Not really his bag.

"I didn't think so," admitted Henry, stroking the spine of the book idly with his thumb. "That's okay. I'm already awesome at magic, so I don't need to learn any more from anybody, if I'm being honest. But other weapons..."

It was just Henry testing the waters. How would Jin respond to him if he just held it above his head as a possibility? Ah, people amused him, at best.

After a moment's silence, Jin turned his head to cast a look back at Henry. The kid was obviously playing some kind of game with himself, but if there way any possibility of him signing up for his class, he needed to make the expectations clear.

"You'll only take my class if you're willing to take it. Not slack off."

"Okay~" he sung, placing the book in his lap. "Do I look like somebody who slacks off? Boy, you guys all probably think that's what kind of person I am. Oh well, it can't be helped."

Not that it was an inaccurate assessment of him. He'd never been one to practice or train... Just to do. "I'd be interested in taking your class, for sure!"

His class was already full of the oddest cross section of people he had seen in a while, so the addition of Henry, while not ideal, was no big change. He looked back down at the water, wondering if the conversation would end now.

He doubted it.

"Next year."

"Sure thing," he agreed. "Besides, I won't be starting my year until the new school year, anyway. Whenever that is. But the headmasters said I could stop in on classes anyway~ How nice of them."

More like how rude of them.

"I'm glad you want me in your class~!"

And somebody around here continued to misinterpret signals.

WHAAAT. Oh no. No no no. The next step from here was Henry cheerfully greeting Jin in the halls in front of other people.

"Is that weird kid friends with Mr. Kisaragi?"
"Guess he's not so mean after all."

That was UNACCEPTABLEeee.

"I can't stop anyone from taking it." Was that true? He had spent a lot of time trying to get people to take it so he could get paid, but hadn't actually tried to stop anyone.

It didn't matter what Jin said or did, it was most likely that Henry would do that anyway, invitation or not. Henry kept right on smiling, feeling like he was wanted.

"Still. It's one thing to just take a class, and another thing entirely for it to be like this," he replied, seeming rather pleased with himself. "I'm a quick learner. I'll end up being so great at the subject material that I might end up using it daily~ You'll see!"

"Have you ever even picked up a sword?" Jin asked, looking entirely like someone had just kicked his childhood puppy in front of him.

"Hmmmmm..." Henry tried to remember a time he picked up a sword before. He was a dark mage, so how likely was that...?

Something hit him, however, and he dropped his fist into his palm like he remembered the answer. "Oh, yes! I've held a sword before, now that I think about it~ I wanted to give somebody a hair cut." Talk about blatant misuse of a sword...

Jin sank deeper into the water, down to right under his chin. Should he... ?

He just couldn't help himself.

"You're joking. Right?"
