Snow

Who: Everyone
What: Snow day
Where: Campus
When: December 2nd-3rd
Warnings: Snow

[The weather outside is cold. More than below freezing. It was only a matter of time then.

By tomorrow, the entire campus will be covered in a tiny layer of white.]

[[OOC - There will be a thread for one specific time; 14:23. Those that wish to catch the first snowflake can fight for it there! Please note that apart from the fact it has 7 sides, and doesn't seem to melt, the snowflake does not hold special powers. Otherwise, start threads as you see fit.]]

SNOOOW.

"Come on, Quagsire! The snow looks gorgeous!"

Misty adored snow. There was never a time when she wasn't excited for the first snowfall. Whenever it snowed in Cerulean, it was such a momentous occasion for her. She'd deck out in her winter clothes, including her favorite blue scarf, and then run out with her Pokemon in tow. This was no exception.

She ran out and began to spin around like a little girl over the snow. Behind her, Quagsire slid around on his belly, enjoying the fluffy ice beneath him.

In Viridian Forest, snow was always a rarity.

Amp had never even seen snow once in her life, at least not at this amount. Any snow that fell near Viridian Forest would build up either around the forest or on the treetops. Nothing further would happen. The snow wouldn't pass through and inside between the actual trees. Viridian Forest was just so thick and resilient.

Amp was absolutely amazed by the snow blanketing the ground.

She dove straight for the snow and began to build up a pile of it. Once it was a little bigger than her, she pounced straight into it.

Holy name of Ho-oh, this snow was cold. She liked that.

It had been a while since Miller had seen a snowfall. While it didn't make him feel young again (his childhood was pretty lousy), there was a certain childlike sense of wonder as he watched the tiny white flakes drift from the sky. Beautiful... Maybe one day he'd retire and move to a place with a lot of snow. It was an idea, but one he wouldn't have to worry about for a loooong time.

He stood around the entrance to the school, content to just watch for a while. At least until he got cold.

Oh fuck. It's officially Fichina season again.

Due to his natural intolerance of colder climates, Leon was pretty certain, as he is every winter, to refrain from reverting back into a lizard until Spring comes up again.

The snow was beautiful, though. It brought back memories of his childhood mission on Fichina. He had to delay the Cornerian Military's terraforming project by sabotaging the climate control center and nobody had any idea that a child tourist, supposedly on a school field trip for gifted potential researchers was ordered to, and succeeded in shutting down a whole military operation.

Of course, he had to be rushed out of there afterwards since it was intolerably cold.

Every first snowday brought this memory. Even if he froze despite wearing ungodly amounts of layers, it was a good memory.

He was by the main building just staring at the snowfall. Hit him with a snowball, and he'll pelt you back with a rock-filled one.

Blacky woke up around 3pm, which was late even for her.

Dixie was frolicking around the snow like Armageddon just wiped the world clean for a new beginning.

She loved it!

Joshua hated the snow. Despised it. Where was the scorching heat of desert lands that he was so used to? As beautiful as the sight was, a picturesque first experience with the fluffy bits of snow - he refused to go outside into the chill.

Instead, he watched the snow fall by sitting on a windowsill, bundled up and still shuddering slightly. It was from a higher view, from the third floor of the teacher's dormitory in a public hallway.

[Feel free to throw a snowball at his window or stumble upon him. Or something. :)]

Peach was walking outside that afternoon, in her winter coat, enjoying this new white blanket of snow. She seems at peace, it was really a beautiful sight. The first snowfall of winter was a magical thing. Like the autumn leaves at their peak in the fall, the cherry blossoms that bloom in the spring, to the fireflies coming out in the summer. Being a princess in a kingdom with temperate climate, she took occasions to enjoy these things.

A "Sorry, we're closed. Will return in 15 min 30 mins 1 hour" sign hung outside of Paretta's Pickup Parcel.

A short distance away, a certain mailman was walking around, leaving a long winding trail of boot prints behind. When he reached a spot that he found favorable, Parakarry flung himself to the ground and began making a snow angel.

YEAH

SNOW

The first snow of the season was one of those things that instantly made Falcon revert into more of a ten-year-old than usual. There was just something so great and refreshing about watching those first flakes fall from the sky and then turning those flakes into snowballs and pelting people in the back of the head.

This particular flurry hadn't quite gotten there yet, but rest-assured Falcon would be ready when it did, yellow earmuffs and all.

ALL OVER CAMPUS

LYING IN WAIT

Oh and also scraping the snow off his car, that was also important.

RAIN. SUN. SNOW. Raiden still had to do the dirty work of a janitor if he hoped to earn a paycheck, so today he could be easily found anywhere on campus per usual, bundled up and probably grumbling about the weather when it made his life more difficult.

...And quietly enjoying the weather when it didn't make his life difficult.

Ah, first snowfall. Years past Samus had spent days like this somewhere in the forest where she used to hide her gunship, scraping the snow off with an almost obsessive compulsive fervor.

But these days she had since acquired a better hiding spot for her space ship, one that kept it free from pesky snow. That didn't mean her motorcycle was free from a small, thin layer from just the time she had left it in the parking lot, however.

She wasn't terribly fond of the cold but armed with turtle necks and fluffy-lined jackets a light snow fall wasn't going to stop her from ensuring that her bike was completely snow-free anyway.

Snow? ...Snow. Marie didn't particularly like snow. And by default, he didn't particularly like the first snow day of the year either. However, that didn't stop him from spending the next afternoon brooding about on the snowy campus. He wore the school's new winter uniform and, because the jacket lacked a hood, a dark grey hat pulled over his ears.

He had his iPod with him and his headphones around his neck, but he wasn't listening to anything. Instead, he was busy furiously texting on his phone. Fascinating! Who was he texting? That is a ~mystery~.

Cyrus was walking around campus staring up at the sky, steps unhundered despite him paying no attention to where he was going. It was his typical route that he had walked many times, and he knew it well.

Despite the cold, his outfit hadn't changed, and steam blew from his mouth as he spoke softly under his breath. "...the world, born anew, seeming much the same. But it is not the same, simply a screen to mask the travails of the hidden world...No, simply a symbol..."

[identity profile] hunter-ghor.livejournal.com 2010-12-03 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
What? A planet that had actual seasons instead of set areas that were always sunny or snowy? MADNESS.

Ghor wasn't particularly fond of snow, as his "feet" were tiny and ill-suited to keeping balance on slippery surfaces. At least there wasn't enough snow to worry about... yet. But when there was, he'd be clearing paths for himself with some good old fashioned plasma beams.

Saying that Mac was excited about the snow was an understatement. The boy was practically taking it all in by running around in the snow in his thick boots and winter coat. Mac didn't mind the cold too much, he actually kind of enjoyed it.

Among the things he hates, snow is near the top of the list. Archer never has done well in cold weather, and even now he's not looking pleased, despite the fact that everything has gone right for him since setting foot on campus.

He's currently inside, staring out at the snow. Houndoom is out of his Pokeball, paws on the window and wagging his tail. Despite being a Fire-type Pokemon, he seems eager to go out and play. In fact, he's giving Archer puppy-dog eyes. They don't work since he is a dog and he's trying to use them on Archer who totally doesn't realize it.

Archer will just remain inside and watch you throw snowballs at each others' heads. That's slightly entertaining, at least.

People... were making such a big deal about snow here, Ulki noticed. Tellius was a relatively cold place, especially in the northern parts, and snow came dumping in fall and persisted for months. Daein was a perfect example, being further from the ocean in comparison to Crimea, but no matter. Snow was snow, and...

It was sort of refreshing to see people so excited over the smallest dusting of it. At first, he almost anticipated annoyance, but that wasn't the case. They were excited over it, but he didn't get to see that often. Weather was weather to him, but to some, it was a spectacle.

He could deal with that, somehow. On the rooftop, he tried to view the world in a different way, appreciating the snow as much as he did other things. It, too, was refreshing.

It was snowing! There was snow! Everywhere! Not a whole lot of it, but still! He had missed Bob's message about it, so it was a surprise to see when he looked out his window. A very nice surprise. He wasted no time in running out the door in his pajamas his coat and scarf.

He took a deep breath, letting the cold air fill his lungs. How completely refreshing.

Ness pulled his gloves out of his pockets and slipped them on. As far as he could tell, there were no snowmen in his immediate vicinity. This was a tragedy that needed to be rectified. Sure there wasn't a whole lot of snow yet, but there was certainly enough there to make a little one! And so he began to scoop snow up and roll.

Hidden behind hill of snow sat Slippy working busily away at a lump of freshly fallen snow in his hands, forming it into a sphere.

After about 15 minutes or so, he managed to create a small stack of snowballs just waiting to be thrown at unsuspecting passersby.

He pressed against the hill with a snowball in hand and a grin on his face. All he had to do now was wait.

"Come on Vinnie," A voice screamed as she burst into his dorm room. "IT'S SNOWING OUTSIDE!"

Her grin was a mile wide.

GUESS WHO HATES SNOW. That's right, it's the girl being a total fun-sucker and throwing fireballs all over the place.

Ah, finally snow. It hardly ever (if at all) snowed in Ecruteak City, which was somewhat good because Morty fared in cold weather the same way he did in hot weather (not well at all. He did best in the in-between seasons) but it made him harbor a certain longing to see it. He had come to Smash Academy just in time to catch a glimpse of the snow, but it seemed that as fast as he arrived, the snow slowly disappeared.

So he was more than a little pleased to first see Arceus' entry on the network and then see the snow for himself. Morty wrapped himself up as tight as he could (he was wearing his warmest sweater. it was special) and made his way outside. He found himself a spot on a bench and was just enjoying the atmosphere while looking very no-pregnant which is necessary to mention because he hasn't said anything since that last post

Unfortunately, Morty was also one of the retards who decided it was a good idea to let his Pokemon loose in this weather. He was keeping an eye on them, but he wasn't going to stop his two Gengars from chucking snowballs at random people passing by.

A certain pink ball was running around, throwing tiny snowballs at every direction.
