[The weather outside is cold. More than below freezing. It was only a matter of time then.

By tomorrow, the entire campus will be covered in a tiny layer of white.]

"That sounds like a terrible place to live." She held her arms closer to herself instinctively. Not that it was terribly easy to do that with a full mug of hot chocolate without spilling it.

"It doesn't snow often in Kanto, where I was born. But it was snowing the first day I left the Pokemon Centre, when I was a few months old. I remember wondering why it disappeared when it hit the ground." A fuzzy, distant memory, but she could still remember certain details like being wrapped in a certain young boy's jacket with her head poking out over the zipper as they walked to her new home. It hurt.

"...I'd prefer a tropical paradise."

Awww she must have been so cute at a few months old! If only he had a cute story to share, but instead, there was this:

"Fichina was pretty beautiful when you want to look at a barren nothing of snow for ten minutes. When I broke down the climate control lab, I went outside instead of back in my ship because... fuck! fluffy white shit!"

Some coco may have tipped out of his cup as he gripped it tighter.

"So I set my foot in and probably fell like, six feet into the snow or something and a blizzard was starting up. Next thing you know, I'm back on a cruiser in Sector Y because mother's henchmen had to go fetch me out. Was out cold for days. I stuck a ruler into the ground when I left my apartment in Corneria and the streets were hit with its own snow. I don't... do that anymore."

He shrugged, smiling nervously. "I think I'm supposed to die in this kind of weather as a lizard. I came from a small jungle settlement on a third other planet- That's where I was the other week."

"Why would you even be on such a cold planet if you're not even built for it?!" Blacky couldn't even imagine being a lizard and going out of the house on a cold day, let alone traveling to an entire other planet covered in snow. She'd like to space travel one day, maybe. But not to Fichina.

"I was sent there," he said bluntly. It wasn't a very terrible memory, just not something he would tell ANYBODY about, but this wasn't anybody. "I was born in a very wealthy organization with my uncle running all operations while mother and I were pawns to carry out any assignment people would pay him for. I didn't know the details at the time, or maybe I was just twelve and didn't know politics. 'Was just told to fly there, bust some large machine, and get out."

He grinned, then. "I did pull it off, though! Just not the getting-out part. You've never been to other planets before, have you?"

Sounded like a pretty shady business. But considering Leon's confessions about being an assassin, it wasn't terribly surprising that he'd have some other unlawful things in his past too.

"At least you didn't freeze to death... Myself, I've never even done so much as set foot in a space ship." Except for that time the faculty got to fly out to Falcon's private island after the Aparoid war, but as far as she knew his Flyer was just some weird vanity jet.

And boy does he have a lot more offenses. But unless she finds out herself, he's staying shut about killing military dogs, doggonnit.

"Would you like to try it sometime?. The view's pretty nice when you leave a planet"

His free hand picked up some snow, single-handedly attempting to make a snowball. Goddamn it was cold!

The answer was immediate ~~and THIS CLOSE to being in allcaps.~~

"I want to go to Planet Broadway."

"If you're serious and tell me where it is, I could take you there."

Yep. He had no idea if that was a pop culture reference or not, but taking her on his ship would be pretty cool, right?

"I'm not sure where it is. Waluigi often bragged about directing things over there and--"

A thought suddenly struck her. Duh! "He may have been putting me on. I can't believe I fell for it! That complete and utter ass!" She huffed and took a sip of hot chocolate. "Alright, never mind that, how about a planet you're familiar with you think I'd like?"

Who was Waluigi again?
Nevermind.

"Closest thing I know to broadway is the theatre district at Corneria City. It's like any rich city, except with more trees and mostly anthropomorphic dogs strutting all over the place."

Dare he say what else. Better leave Zoness and Fichina out of the suggestions box. Solar too. Oh god.

"Fortuna's rather pretty if you like exotic jungles of small civilian populations and large mansions and military bases scattered in middles of nowhere. And then there's this nice old space station- Wolf's turf. You'll get the most amazing view of the galaxy from there, but you'll have to pretend to be a smooth criminal so the other thugs won't bother you. Not that they could while I'm around!"

Last option is Aquas but he sadly lacks a ship that could navigate underwater unless he can steal one. SLIPPY CAN I BORROW YOUR BLUE MARINE?

"I wonder what Mars and Saturn are like? I've already been to Uranus and I didn't like it very much."

"Dog planet, hmm...?" She liked the sound of that. A place she'd fit right in... besides the "anthropomorphic" bit.

She elbowed him at the Uranus comment ~~and spilled her drink EVERYWHERE~~. "You liked it enough to go again. From what I've heard, most of the other planets in this particular solar system are pretty barren and uninhabitable. Although I wonder what it would be like for someone like me to be on the moon."

"Well... yeah, but that's beside the point," Leon responded to the Uranus discussion with a stifled snicker. umm... okay. He cleared his throat to continue (after sipping a bit of his drink).

"I don't have astronaut equipment to let you out of my ship onto the airless moon, but the Wolfen could still fly over there for a tour. Distance and hyperdrive considering, getting there should be less than an hour."

He paused just briefly.

"That is... If you're okay with squeezing into a one-seat dogfight vessel ~~that barrel rolls~~. I'll see what we could work out."

Only an hour? Man! And astronomers made it all seem so far away. Then again, NASA lacked hyper drives.

"If you think there'll be room... otherwise, I do take up a little less space as a Pokemon."

"Yep! We can make the trip to and back and explore aimlessly all within a day. Going to Lylat takes several since I hop between cargo cruisers and pit stops to refuel."

He tried to keep a calm face, but really, he was excited over this. He gets to show her outer space!

"I can always make room for you. We'll try the moon for a test run and if it works out, you can tag along on my next trip to Corneria."

He would just have to... not steal any military equipment this time.

"Oh, Leon, that would be wonderful! I- I think I've always wanted to see the moon up close, somewhere deep down."

If the full moon from Earth could rejuvenate her, just imagine what flying over its surface could do...! ~~Leveling up FIVE TIMES.~~

~~That'll show her old trainer!~~

"We'll make the ~~offscreen~~ trip whenever you're up for it. Merry Christmas."

And with that, his arm wrapped around her. Her boyfriend might kill him for this, but Leon's a big boy that can take hits.

"How about for Christmas, then? We'll have dinner and then go to space."

And then space-noob Blacky would get motion sickness. HOW ROMANTIC.

"If your boyfriend won't mind, That works for me."

Aww how cute! Leon barrel rolling in space with a puking black exotic dog on his lap!

~~And then they could take a space shower together wait no~~

"He'll be spending the holidays with his other girlfriend in New York." Not that she was jealous or anything. Why would she be jealous? Rosemary had him first. Besides, Blacky got to see Raiden the rest of the year. It wasn't like she would be alone this holiday without him or her old trainer.

Sigh.

~~Aww but Meteos provides some interesting showers! - oh wait, wrong type of shwoers!~~

Leon would wonder if there's any loyalty in this world with couples, but this is a guy whose dad was slain before he even hatched, so... what are couples, anyway?

"A guy should know how to juggle his chicks."

"It's alright, I'll be spending the holidays with my other boyfriend."

"..."

His hot cocoa had dropped and spilled onto the snow. So he could grab her by the shoulders and kiss her.

NO it got all over one of her nice boots! RUINED FOREVER.

Luckily, she was too distracted by said kiss to notice. You shouldn't be doing this, chided the rational part of her mind. Shut up, said the rest of it. She tossed her own cup aside to wrap her arms around Leon's waist and return the kiss. This was going to come back and bite her in the ass ten times in the near future, but she didn't care right now.
