Snow

Who: Everyone
What: Snow day
Where: Campus
When: December 2nd-3rd
Warnings: Snow

[The weather outside is cold. More than below freezing. It was only a matter of time then.

By tomorrow, the entire campus will be covered in a tiny layer of white.]

[[OOC - There will be a thread for one specific time; 14:23. Those that wish to catch the first snowflake can fight for it there! Please note that apart from the fact it has 7 sides, and doesn't seem to melt, the snowflake does not hold special powers. Otherwise, start threads as you see fit.]]

Goose was more than ready to get that snowflake.

He was going to definitely get that snowflake. He wanted that snowflake. A little Southern boy that barely ever experienced snow, if not never in his childhood, screamed from inside of his mind. "I want it, I want it! That oughta to be cool!"

The 10-year-old self in him wanted that snowflake.

He was damn well going to listen to that boyish side of him. If he didn't achieve it, well, at least it's worth a shot, right?

He was right there, and he was waiting.

((What determines who will get the first snowflake? Do we decide amongst ourselves or does a mod determine it at random or something?))

SNOOOW.

"Come on, Quagsire! The snow looks gorgeous!"

Misty adored snow. There was never a time when she wasn't excited for the first snowfall. Whenever it snowed in Cerulean, it was such a momentous occasion for her. She'd deck out in her winter clothes, including her favorite blue scarf, and then run out with her Pokemon in tow. This was no exception.

She ran out and began to spin around like a little girl over the snow. Behind her, Quagsire slid around on his belly, enjoying the fluffy ice beneath him.

In Viridian Forest, snow was always a rarity.

Amp had never even seen snow once in her life, at least not at this amount. Any snow that fell near Viridian Forest would build up either around the forest or on the treetops. Nothing further would happen. The snow wouldn't pass through and inside between the actual trees. Viridian Forest was just so thick and resilient.

Amp was absolutely amazed by the snow blanketing the ground.

She dove straight for the snow and began to build up a pile of it. Once it was a little bigger than her, she pounced straight into it.

Holy name of Ho-oh, this snow was cold. She liked that.

It had been a while since Miller had seen a snowfall. While it didn't make him feel young again (his childhood was pretty lousy), there was a certain childlike sense of wonder as he watched the tiny white flakes drift from the sky. Beautiful... Maybe one day he'd retire and move to a place with a lot of snow. It was an idea, but one he wouldn't have to worry about for a loooong time.

He stood around the entrance to the school, content to just watch for a while. At least until he got cold.

Oh fuck. It's officially Fichina season again.

Due to his natural intolerance of colder climates, Leon was pretty certain, as he is every winter, to refrain from reverting back into a lizard until Spring comes up again.

The snow was beautiful, though. It brought back memories of his childhood mission on Fichina. He had to delay the Cornerian Military's terraforming project by sabotaging the climate control center and nobody had any idea that a child tourist, supposedly on a school field trip for gifted potential researchers was ordered to, and succeeded in shutting down a whole military operation.

Of course, he had to be rushed out of there afterwards since it was intolerably cold.

Every first snowday brought this memory. Even if he froze despite wearing ungodly amounts of layers, it was a good memory.

He was by the main building just staring at the snowfall. Hit him with a snowball, and he'll pelt you back with a rock-filled one.

Blacky woke up around 3pm, which was late even for her.

[identity profile] umbreon-blacky.livejournal.com 2010-12-02 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
She stared out the window.

[identity profile] umbreon-blacky.livejournal.com 2010-12-02 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
And went back to bed.

She was so not going out unless someone kicked her door down and dragged her out, damn it. And even then she would only do it with loud complaints.

[identity profile] rocksomepirates.livejournal.com 2010-12-02 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Dixie was frolicking around the snow like Armageddon just wiped the world clean for a new beginning.

She loved it!

5pm

[identity profile] goaheadnblunder.livejournal.com 2010-12-02 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)

There is an obnoxious banging on the door. The imported poffins he ordered had arrived today, and when was the last time he gave her something?

[identity profile] crimsongambler.livejournal.com 2010-12-03 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
Joshua hated the snow. Despised it. Where was the scorching heat of desert lands that he was so used to? As beautiful as the sight was, a picturesque first experience with the fluffy bits of snow - he refused to go outside into the chill.

Instead, he watched the snow fall by sitting on a windowsill, bundled up and still shuddering slightly. It was from a higher view, from the third floor of the teacher's dormitory in a public hallway.

[Feel free to throw a snowball at his window or stumble upon him. Or something. :)]

Image What a terrible wake up call. Although poffins were pretty damn good, they weren't good enough to make up for being pulled back out of a nice slumber. After spending a good few minutes trying to ignore the noise and failing miserably, Blacky dragged herself out of bed, threw on the first shirt and pants she could find, and opened the door.

"Do you have to be so loud?"

"You finally answered, didn't you?"

Man, she just assembled herself like crap. She's usually all dressed up and tidy (The smoking got to her aesthetically before it even got to her lungs). Oh well. He handed her a fancy tin box.

"I'm sucking up to you. Take this."

Well she normally would have taken a little more time to look nice if she planned on leaving the dorm at all and if she hadn't been in such a hurry to stop that incessant banging.

She yawned quietly as she opened the tin, pleased to see some of her favourite sweet treats inside. Oh Leon. "Aaaah, I didn't sleep all the way through to Christmas, did I?"

stumbleupon yeaaaaaah

Zelda, however, quite enjoyed the first snow of the season. Sure, she knew she'd be sick of it by the time January rolled around and the entire campus was covered in a blanket of once-white snow that slowly grayed and turned to slush, but there was always something magical about the first time it happened.

Though she certainly wanted to spend a bit of time outside, she knew the entire student body (and most of the faculty) would be out and about in the snow, so it seemed like an ideal time to do some uninterrupted holiday decorating. The task brought her up to the third floor of the teacher's dorms, where she carried a bundle of lights and garland up the stairs only to find she was not alone.

Zelda didn't recognize the new faculty member, but he seemed slightly uncomfortable. "You look cold."

"Not even close," he responded. "I ordered them express after that little Glee marathon in the teacher's lounge the other day. I've been busy hating and gaying myself out that I don't remember the last time I've made you smile. I'm not gonna wait twenty four days for that to happen."

Showering a taken woman with presents is probably a bad idea, but he didn't care.

yayyyyy \o/

[identity profile] crimsongambler.livejournal.com 2010-12-03 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
The sound of someone walking up the stairs, along with the rustle of decorations registered in the back of Joshua's mind - but he made no action to acknowledge it. The cold numbed his senses just a tad, and his stuffy nose did nothing to help that.

Joshua's head turned from looking out the window to Zelda, an automatic crooked grin appearing on his face once he saw her - since she was a girl. Only because he tended to be nicer towards women, with a slightly twisted sense of chivalry in a way.

"It's a cold day," he answered back, straightening up from his slouch. But her observation was right, since even his newly bought winter wasn't enough for him. Eying the bundle in her arms, an idea popped into his head before he asked a question. "You need help with that?"

Image She considered either telling Leon the whole story of her November or just leaving it at something cryptic like I don't think I'll be smiling again for a while but... that was just unnecessarily dramatic. It was a nice gesture and she didn't want to sour it.

"I see. Well... Thank you." She did muster a little smile, just for him.

"So I still have time to get you a gift after all. Good."

Oh wow, snow! The first snowfall! This was awesome. At the sight of the snow outside his window, he hurried on outside in a winter coat to go run around. Mac was always the sort to be a child at heart, and that was no exception here. He started to jump in the snow and enjoy his time outside like the energetic guy he was.

And then he spotted a Misty and Quagsire. Run towards. Excitedly.

"Misty!!"

Peach was walking outside that afternoon, in her winter coat, enjoying this new white blanket of snow. She seems at peace, it was really a beautiful sight. The first snowfall of winter was a magical thing. Like the autumn leaves at their peak in the fall, the cherry blossoms that bloom in the spring, to the fireflies coming out in the summer. Being a princess in a kingdom with temperate climate, she took occasions to enjoy these things.

He vaguely had the idea that something was wrong, but as someone who didn't like others prying into his business, he rarely did any prying himself. Unless she's hiding something against him, there's always a time and place for things to be said if it'll ever happen at all. But she has her own life just like everyone else.

All he could do was be the guy that became one of her closest friends.

He smiled back "Just a regular old night of Chinese Takeout or brownie-making works fine for me."

He almost added Without the seduction or sex stories of course, but hopefully he wouldn't have to bring that up.

THERE, SHE BROUGHT IT UP FOR HIM.

See, Blacky? You don't trust him-erm!

"Right!"

His eyes sparkled like a little kid going to a carnival.

"Sounds like a reasonable gift. I'll try to make sure I'm awake in time for it." Speaking of... what time was it? It was dark out. It could have been early the next morning for all she knew. What a disorienting feeling...
