SNAKE'S GONNA TEACH YOU HOW TO SURVIVE
Who: Solid Snake Professor Pliskin and YOU
What: The Snake Survival Box Camp
When: Oct. 04 ~ Oct. 06 (Hi, we're backtag friendly here.)
Where: Deep in the forest where no one can hear you scream from cardboard cuts. Except you know, the people in the forest.
Warnings: Box eating is somewhere in here, I'm sure.

wait isn't that Big Boss no shut up get out
Snake had decided it might have been a class requirement for the students of Boxes 101 to join him on their free weekend for a Survival Box Camp, which he didn't fully explain. Snake also decided that maybe some students and faculty who weren't a part of Boxes 101 could come along if they wanted to. No, seriously. Who was he to stop them?
The whole trip was just supposed to like an educational outing, thrown in with some roasted marshmallows.

And then maybe a little "Kumbaya."

Okay. Maybe not so much of that.
Whatever the case was, anyone who had tagged along was a part of the Professor Pliskin 'Family,' albeit a temporary thing. With a forest to explore, things to learn, and naturally - box survival - a plethora of things awaited the eager (and not so eager) adventurers.
OoC Notes:
Basically aside from threads specific toward Snake actually trying to be a good instructor, this is a free-for-all log. Get lost in the forest.Ransack a fortress or encampment. Eat poisonous berries. Attempt air assaults. Literally, it's a free-for-all.

One of the boxes started moving, and suddenly, one gas-masked weirdo popped right out from it. Did anyone know if he was coming? Yes? No? Maybe so? He's been in that box this whole time, so perhaps not.
"See? I did it, Snake-sensei! I even brought my very own box!" Clear clapped happily and began to slide back into the box. "Yaaaaaaaaaaay...!"
There he was.

But something seemed off about Clear. And Snake knew something about things being off.
"That box is all good and stuff, but..." Snake scratched at his hairline as he cocked an eyebrow. "...How can you act in a covert operation with a box like that?"

"How does one go about weatherproofing a cardboard box? It would be compromised by rain or floods, karat."

"It's true that I've had this problem once or twice. You can try to pack once box in another and shelter under that. Chances are by the time the first box gives out, you won't need to be hiding under it."
Then he gave something of a shrug, "But if that didn't work out, they make duct tape that's waterproof and you could always coat a box in that. Then you could have one box that you could break down and specifically use for storming weather."

Survival Box Camp. How to survive with boxes. What a weirdly specific thing to be taught...
"Boxes are useful for things, sure. Like storin' shit and sendin' packages. But how the hell are they gonna help us survive out here? It's impractical. 'Sides, it's not like you find this many boxes just lyin' around a forest on a regular basis..."

At this point, Snake was sort of spouting bullshit. He knew there was more to survival in the wilderness than simply boxes, but it gave the class an excuse to be outdoors instead of a damn classroom. He just couldn't say that. Although he contemplated moving all of their classes outdoor. It'd let his cardboard fortress stay up a little longer in his classroom, after all.
"You should always bring with you a supply of boxes," he continued in a rather matter-of-fact fashion, as if it was totally common sense to be accompanied by broken down boxes.

Who the hell even brings a notebook camping...

... He's kind of having trouble writing in there, though, and keeps shuffling around to try to maneuver properly.

Or maybe he was. He was having trouble deciding.
"This is more a hands-on gathering, kid," Snake finally decided to address him. "Pretty sure you can't shelter yourself under a pad of paper."

She really, really is. She can't seem to crouch down low enough to make the disguise work, and it just looks like a box with two really muscular legs. Not to mention this class seems a little silly, but she is too polite to say it aloud.

A skinny little finger is poking at her leg from a hole in a kawaii box.
"You can borrow one of my boxes, if you'd like."
Wait... He has more?!

"Do you know Aoi?" It is probably the worst and most awkward time to have this conversation.

FISHIN'
He is out by the lake, fishing. And he's sitting on a box, that counts, right?

Thankfully, it's right side up, so the, um... contents aren't left without oxygen. Clear is hiding just behind it, trying so hard not to be seen, bobbing in and out of the lake without a care.
Beautiful. Beautiful android in his natural habitat.

No Laughing Box Hell
They were nearly out of tape at this point and the box fort only managed to be an area of about 6" x 6" and a height of roughly 6"- essentially the size of a small bathroom. When Mondo reached for his dwindling roll of tape, he scowled at it and scrutinized their box shelter. With their party, it was going to be so cramped in there...
"Aw, shit. I'm runnin' low on tape... You got any more?" Mondo asked Sakura on the other side.
no subject
And serious doubts about their shelter's suitability. And questions about their instructor's qualifications. But those were thoughts born of fatigue, and distractions from their primary goal: surviving off the forest.
So she tosses the roll to Mondo and also steps back to examine their handiwork. It's not promising, but it was better than nothing.
"...Perhaps we should construct some form of awning as well, to prevent conditions inside the fortress from becoming too crowded?"
