SNAKE'S GONNA TEACH YOU HOW TO SURVIVE
Who: Solid Snake Professor Pliskin and YOU
What: The Snake Survival Box Camp
When: Oct. 04 ~ Oct. 06 (Hi, we're backtag friendly here.)
Where: Deep in the forest where no one can hear you scream from cardboard cuts. Except you know, the people in the forest.
Warnings: Box eating is somewhere in here, I'm sure.

wait isn't that Big Boss no shut up get out
Snake had decided it might have been a class requirement for the students of Boxes 101 to join him on their free weekend for a Survival Box Camp, which he didn't fully explain. Snake also decided that maybe some students and faculty who weren't a part of Boxes 101 could come along if they wanted to. No, seriously. Who was he to stop them?
The whole trip was just supposed to like an educational outing, thrown in with some roasted marshmallows.

And then maybe a little "Kumbaya."

Okay. Maybe not so much of that.
Whatever the case was, anyone who had tagged along was a part of the Professor Pliskin 'Family,' albeit a temporary thing. With a forest to explore, things to learn, and naturally - box survival - a plethora of things awaited the eager (and not so eager) adventurers.
OoC Notes:
Basically aside from threads specific toward Snake actually trying to be a good instructor, this is a free-for-all log. Get lost in the forest.Ransack a fortress or encampment. Eat poisonous berries. Attempt air assaults. Literally, it's a free-for-all.

One of the boxes started moving, and suddenly, one gas-masked weirdo popped right out from it. Did anyone know if he was coming? Yes? No? Maybe so? He's been in that box this whole time, so perhaps not.
"See? I did it, Snake-sensei! I even brought my very own box!" Clear clapped happily and began to slide back into the box. "Yaaaaaaaaaaay...!"
There he was.

But something seemed off about Clear. And Snake knew something about things being off.
"That box is all good and stuff, but..." Snake scratched at his hairline as he cocked an eyebrow. "...How can you act in a covert operation with a box like that?"
no subject
Were there too many holes in it or something? Was it colored funny? Was it too big? He had to know. Clear was not going to fail this class if he could help it.
no subject
At least Snake thought it was obvious. But Clear himself was obvious. Maybe it was just because it was Clear's box. "You any good at sneaking around or stealth?" Not that he imagined he could teach the kid something like that. Clear was too easily excitable, after all.
no subject
If he could increase his stealth, chances were that Toue would never find him. Would he really miss a box, though? How curious...
no subject
"When I'm talking about using boxes as a way to disguise yourself, it's meant to be a temporary way to hide. It's best when used on patrolling units. So people who are on a set route. You're meant to use a box up until they're out of earshot and eyesight. Then you can use other parts of the environment to cloak yourself."
It was probably the most useful thing he'd said in any of his classes. But to be fair, Snake didn't really like discussing what he used to do back in those days. Not that he had a lot of shame, just that it was hard to forget the past when almost everything he looked at reminded him of it.

Clear was listening intently and absorbing the information as well as he could. Just to make sure that he had it all down pat, he questioned him immediately.
"So if I were to try to sneak past someone walking back and forth, Snake-sensei... I could use the box and stay still until they cannot see and hear me? Then I can move on to hide elsewhere?"
He might be a weirdo, but he wasn't a dummy. He was a fast learner, to be sure.
no subject
Patting the closest box to him, as if it were a close ally instead of a mere box, he continued. "But those are days and years behind me. I think the class is fine sticking with boxes for now." But there was a definite hint of wistfulness to him, like some part of him did miss those days.

Clear scuttled off, huddling up to a nice, hefty group of cardboard boxes that have since remained unused. He hid well underneath his own, and even though the, uh... kawaii face stuck out, he kind of fit in. Maybe.
"Yes? Yes~?"
no subject
Snake motioned with his off hand to the gaggle of boxes, "You've got the right idea, though. Somehow, I wonder if that would even work with you, though. If I'd turned away and let you pick a box to hide, I'd still be able to find you. You seem to be very noticeable."
What the hell was that kawaii face anyway?
no subject
Well, at least Clear got something right, and that was impeccable progress. However, he was still left in a puzzled tizzy, unsure of exactly what the issue was. He stood out, but how?
...
Then, it struck him.
"Ah! It is the design of the box, isn't it?" He shuffled a little under that box along with his attempt to nod, despite not being immediately seen under there. "I simply chose my favorite box. Should I choose a matching box next time?"
no subject
No. That wasn't it at all. Snake didn't even know how to actually bring it up, because he didn't know what it was. So after a few moments of saying nothing at all, he kind of wished he had something to write on. Or something.
"No. That's not it," he finally began. "You kind of make this odd face. Well, not you. The box. The box makes an odd face." Right. Because he didn't already sound crazy enough. Fantastic.

Clear knew of plenty. His mind reeled, filled with emoticon-y goodness:
(`ε´)
Ψ(`▽´)Ψ
(*-`ω´- )人
( >ω>)
( ¬‿¬)
He's really good at this.
