HOTS CLUB I MEAN HOST CLUB
Who: "Seth" and Voile and YOU
What: HOST CLUB
Where: AE13, on the bottom floor of the student dorms.
When: future-dated a bit to Thursday, 5/16
Warnings: Sexy Nurses and Contests
Warnings redux: dude tag yourself in
It's Thursday; Graduation/Prom is still a few weeks off but finals are swiftly approaching the students of Smash Academy. Seth has been a busy bee, if not withunscrupulous activities preparing for said finals, then he has been dutifully making Host Club beautiful. More accurately, him and Voile have worked especially hard on this one to help raise money for those suffering from the drug riots and related violence.
Much like any other Host Club session, AE13 has been transformed into something bright, cheery, and very spring-like. Spring has definitely sprung all over the tables and flowery decor here. Food seems to especially be in surplus this session, with tables lining the borders of the room in a sort of buffet style. It's not just cookies, pastries, fruits, or snacks, but there is an entire table dedicated to those with a sweet tooth. (Most are actually not drugged but if you want to have shenanigans, then by all means go for it.) There are still some items exclusive to a menu that necessitate the need for a host/server. Alternatively, you could tell your host to go get stuff at the buffet for you, that is just as practical.
There's surely something here for everyone... and if not, he'll make it happen. As in, he'll make the servers make it happen.
To get this Host Club kicked off, Seth stands, in all his grandiose attire, and clinks a glass with his fork. "If I could have everyone's attention for a moment, please?" Once he has it, he clears his throat.
"First of all, I'd like to welcome you all to this Host Club. Voile and I worked especially hard on it, so thank you for coming. You should know you're not only supporting our efforts but all generous donations and proceedings will go directly to victims afflicted by these recent strings of cruel violence."
"Did you know it was National Nurse's Week last week? I thought it would only be appropriate then to have this Host Club's theme be that of healing--Healing and appreciation for those who work hard to help others, who don't get enough appreciation for their efforts."
"Like poor Rhys! I swear he'd work himself ragged if he gave himself the chance. He needs our love and support, and, if I may direct your attention to our beautiful, charming hostess Voile," Seth waves his hand in the air and points at her, where a well-choreographed spotlight follows up onto the mini-stage erected in the room. "--really, everyone look, she is absolutely stunning in that dress, give her a big round of applause--She will tell you exactly how you can offer a healing hand."

Ring ring...
Hello, it's me again~
How's business, pussycat?
Going very well, thank you for asking. That snafu with the production plant under the church put a bit of a bottleneck on the market, but it's not like that's a bad thing. I've already made plenty from it, so no fur off my back. All the chaos in the city is very entertaining.
Ha ha ha, all the better since everyone's pointing fingers at the school now anyway.
I hope you're just as happy on your end.
It is, isn't it.
Yes, how are they going?
That's still a problem? Ugh. What haven't you tried yet?
What if... what about that thing I found under the school?
Yes, that substance it was leaking. I've never seen anything like it before, let alone from a trophy. You still have the samples, don't you?
Yeah.
Oh good.
That sounds promising already~
Tell you what, since you've been working so hard on this, why not give me the prototypes and let me test them out? I have a few targets in mind.

HOST CLUB:
▷ If you want your character to BE SERVED, just sit them down at any table and start making orders.
▷ If you want your character to SERVE, as in you want to put your character in an embarrassing outfit and serve the people sitting at the tables, go right ahead. There are no OOC sign-ups. This session's Host Club's outfit theme is SEXY NURSE. Take your pick of outfit from conservative and modern to increasingly provocative. If you're a server and can't think of any willing/legit reasons why on earth they would be here in a sexy nurse outfit you can assume Seth more or less forced/tricked/convinced/blackmailed your poor unfortunate character into the act.
▷ ONCE YOU PICK server OR served, your character must to stick with it until this Host Club meeting is done, that is the only rule. No escaping, no sneaking out. Seth will CATCH YOU and make you CLEAN DISHES with a TOOTHBRUSH.
HOST CLUB CONTEST:
▶ If you remember how last year's Student/Faculty Auctions went and how the Pokemon Contests work, this may feel familiar. Your character needs to pay a measly $5 entry fee (which will be a charitable donation to help those involved in drug riot incidents) and then they can enter in any of the contest categories; Coolness, Beauty, Cuteness, Intelligence, and Strength. PERFORM your act of [insert category here] and impress everyone! Get creative, use your Smashing Skills and wow the crowd. If you damage the stage or make a mess, Connor and Flint will probably not be happy with you.
▶ As an audience member, you cast your vote by typing a +1 into your subject title (not unlike the auctions with the dollar amounts). That's it! You can vote as many times as you like, just not for multiple times for the same person in the same category (so no +2's or +3's or +9000's). You can, however, vote for the same person once in each category if they are competing in more than one. You can cast a vote for more than one person per category.
▶ Votes will be tallied up OOCly Thursday or Friday, and we will start a new thread to announce the winner.
Voile [open]
Re: Voile [open]
He didn't dress up often. Though he had two suits--tonight saw him wearing the white one--he vastly prefered his uniform. Something had to be a very special occasion to see him in anything else.
"To hold a contest...yes, that was your idea," he commented as he approached her. "That is still your dream; that much I know."
Re: Voile [open]
Then she smiled and nodded. "Yes. That's true. It would seem my dream is a tree bearing fruit." Her head tipped as she rested a hand at her collarbone, "What is it that's brought you here?"
Re: Voile [open]
Though outside he seemed his normal calm, distant, and vaguely intimidating self, Cyrus's thoughts raced, seeming to pitch up when he glanced at her. "...This place evokes the season. A time of new beginning, of life springing from death. An appropiate theme for the cause. We must come out of winter and throw ourselves fully into the springtime. We must, above all else, have peace."
Re: Voile [open]
Then she nodded in agreement, "Late last year Seth and I got together and we discussed potential themes for the next host club meeting. This was a combination of both of our ideas. I liked flowers and springtime. He thought it would be good to have a fundraiser for the victims of the recent outbreak of hostility in the city. Thus history was made."

MEANWHILE ACROSS THE ROOM
ALONG WITH SOME WIGGLING FINGERS.

Immediately upon entering, though, Marie felt incredibly out-of-place. And uncomfortable. Really uncomfortable. Voile sure did pull some gift cards from her cleavage. Yeppppp.
Throughout the event, he hovered by Voile sometimes, although not saying much of anything to her. When she spoke with others, he wandered away from her side. Although he usually didn't wander far, keeping most of Voile's conversations within earshot... Definitely so that he could eavesdrop. And so, naturally, Marie became increasingly moodier as time passed.
no subject
She just didn't know how to interpret it.
But when she got a moment to be alone with the wartortle, she stayed in close to him, tipping her head to rest it against his. "...Thank you so much for being here with me. It's... overwhelming, so I... needed, and wanted, to have you by my side. I'm sorry for putting you through it."
no subject
Jealous.
It took a lot of effort to not reply with something incredibly snotty. If it had been a teammate, he might have mumbled it anyway. But he wasn't quite as fearless with how he came off to Voile as he was with his teammates. So he bit his tongue and searched for something nicer to say.
"It's fine," would have to do. Anything else, and he was sure he'd end up saying something he'd regret.
no subject
What in the world have you to...
It was the dress. It was very clearly the dress. That garnered her so much attention because it was so extravagant in comparison to her normal dress style - which was its own kind of flamboyant. That had to be it. And it wasn't like Voile was completely oblivious to the eyes on her. She just pretended to be because it was easier that way.
Setting her forehead to Marie's, she closed her eyes as she fished for his hands, provided he'd allow her to have them. "This... was unfair of me to ask of you. If you're really unhappy, I don't mind if you want to take off. I'm sorry." And she felt like she couldn't apologise enough.
Selfishly she'd ask him to come. For selfish reasons. Because she wanted to be selfish. It wasn't very kind of her part in hindsight.

When she reached for his hands, he instinctively fidgeted away at first. Reluctantly, though, he let her hold his hands. He was uncomfortably conscious of how clammy his hands were, though, and wished he could have at least dried his palms first.
"It's fine, Voile," he replied. His tone came off much more stern than he had anticipated from himself. Just a touch softer, he added, "Really. I'm not unhappy."
Pursing his lips, he withdrew from her just slightly. He kept their hands together, but Marie was entirely too self-conscious with how close they had been. People were likely to look at them if they stood like that, and Marie really could not want to be looked at any less. He offered her a halfhearted half-smile, though, as if to say sorry.

Knuckles raised his glass of orange juice in her direction before taking a long gulp of it. "You look great - actually, the whole place looks great. And it looks like everyone's havin' a pretty great time, too!"
no subject
"Hello!" she greeted him, characteristically chipper. "I'm very pleased with how everything was put together. Seth has put a lot of work into this one. It's such... It's overwhelming to be a part of it, but I'm very happy."
Then she leaned over to him for a better look, "Are you enjoying yourself?"
no subject
"I'm sure you both put a lot of work in, though - don't sell yourself short! Looking forward to the contests, too. I'm entering in the strength category, naturally."
no subject
Smiling sheepishly, she couldn't think of a more graceful way to respond that didn't make it sound like she was deprecating herself. It seemed easier just to take the compliments and roll with them. Water off a duck's back...?
"If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be able to have introduced the contest hall tonight. I'm so thankful for all of your help, Knuckles. Once again, you're my saviour. Always coming to my rescue." She shook her head and laughed quietly. "I do believe you'll find me in the audience. I can't just sit out and let the rest of you have fun. You can consider my vote yours."
no subject
"Just doin' my part. I can move stuff around and build things and do repairs and whatnot, but it's your vision that really brought it all together." he said, doing precisely what he'd told her not to do not ten seconds ago. "But hey, thanks for your vote in advance - though, if someone who really IS stronger than me shows up, I won't feel bad if your vote goes their way. I got somethin' fun planned either way."

But he saw his Pokemon (his Pokemon, it felt strange to say to himself) seemingly happy, waltzing around and taking charge of the event. The sight made Phoenix feel relieved to a degree, that Voile seemed content and able to handle things just fine on her own. (Because well, ever since taking her on, Phoenix of course felt a much more extreme responsibility for her, and wanted to make sure first of all that she was doing okay.)
So he waved to her then and walked over. "Hi Voile."
no subject
She greeted him with a smile, which she thought was only expected out of her. At least to him. "Hello!" Lifting her left hand, she wiggled her fingers at him happily. And she didn't attach a title, because she almost wasn't sure what to call him. 'Father?' 'Brother?' She'd come up with something eventually.
no subject
"So did you put together a lot of this yourself?" He knew that the contest thing was probably all Voile, or at least mostly done by her, but wasn't sure about the rest of the party.
no subject
That flirtation...
"If it hadn't been for him, none of this would have been possible, honestly."
no subject
"Which one is Seth? I don't think I've met him." Phoenix didn't suspect the man of anything at the moment, but he at least knew he had a slightly strange feeling about these host club meetings. Well, whether or not that was the case, he still at least wanted to meet Seth. He felt lately that he should get more in touch with Voile's friends.

Suddenly Vinnie's behaviour began to make sense...Whatever he was, she deemed the boy unforgettable. So when he managed to catch her eye, she managed to make for herself some free time. 'Free' in the way of adding Red to her list of people to check up on, anyway. As she inched her way through the crowd, dress and all, she smiled when she got within arm's reach of him.
"Hello! How long have you been here?"
no subject
And she was sure Marie was around somewhere when Red made mention of the Wartortle.
Voile smiled modestly, "I've really done very little. Seth-" She looked past Red for a moment and motioned to the blond-haired Persian, "-did most of it. He just allowed me to bring in the new contest hall here. He did everything else, though."
Which was true. She might have given an idea, but Seth was the one with the magic hands to make it all come to life.
