Hello, it's me again~

How's business, pussycat?

Going very well, thank you for asking. That snafu with the production plant under the church put a bit of a bottleneck on the market, but it's not like that's a bad thing. I've already made plenty from it, so no fur off my back. All the chaos in the city is very entertaining.

Ha ha ha, all the better since everyone's pointing fingers at the school now anyway.

I hope you're just as happy on your end.

Yes, that substance it was leaking. I've never seen anything like it before, let alone from a trophy. You still have the samples, don't you?

That sounds promising already~

Tell you what, since you've been working so hard on this, why not give me the prototypes and let me test them out? I have a few targets in mind.

It's Thursday; Graduation/Prom is still a few weeks off but finals are swiftly approaching the students of Smash Academy. Seth has been a busy bee, if not with ~~unscrupulous activities~~ preparing for said finals, then he has been dutifully making Host Club beautiful. More accurately, him and Voile have worked especially hard on this one to help raise money for those suffering from the drug riots and related violence.

Much like any other Host Club session, AE13 has been transformed into something bright, cheery, and very spring-like. Spring has definitely sprung all over the tables and flowery decor here. Food seems to especially be in surplus this session, with tables lining the borders of the room in a sort of buffet style. It's not just cookies, pastries, fruits, or snacks, but there is an entire table dedicated to those with a sweet tooth. (Most are actually not drugged but if you want to have shenanigans, then by all means go for it.) There are still some items exclusive to a menu that necessitate the need for a host/server. Alternatively, you could tell your host to go get stuff at the buffet for you, that is just as practical.

There's surely something here for everyone... and if not, he'll make it happen. As in, he'll make the servers make it happen.

To get this Host Club kicked off, Seth stands, in all his grandiose attire, and clinks a glass with his fork. "If I could have everyone's attention for a moment, please?" Once he has it, he clears his throat.

"First of all, I'd like to welcome you all to this Host Club. Voile and I worked especially hard on it, so thank you for coming. You should know you're not only supporting our efforts but all generous donations and proceedings will go directly to victims afflicted by these recent strings of cruel violence."

"Did you know it was National Nurse's Week last week? I thought it would only be appropriate then to have this Host Club's theme be that of healing--Healing and appreciation for those who work hard to help others, who don't get enough appreciation for their efforts."

"Like poor Rhys! I swear he'd work himself ragged if he gave himself the chance. He needs our love and support, and, if I may direct your attention to our beautiful, charming hostess Voile," Seth waves his hand in the air and points at her, where a well-choreographed spotlight follows up onto the mini-stage erected in the room. "--really, everyone look, she is absolutely stunning in that dress, give her a big round of applause--She will tell you exactly how you can offer a healing hand."

HOST CLUB:
▷ If you want your character to BE SERVED, just sit them down at any table and start making orders.
▷ If you want your character to SERVE, as in you want to put your character in an embarrassing outfit and serve the people sitting at the tables, go right ahead. There are no OOC sign-ups. This session's Host Club's outfit theme is SEXY NURSE. Take your pick of outfit from conservative and modern to increasingly provocative. If you're a server and can't think of any willing/legit reasons why on earth they would be here in a sexy nurse outfit you can assume Seth more or less forced/tricked/convinced/blackmailed your poor unfortunate character into the act.
▷ ONCE YOU PICK server OR served, your character must to stick with it until this Host Club meeting is done, that is the only rule. No escaping, no sneaking out. Seth will CATCH YOU and make you CLEAN DISHES with a TOOTHBRUSH.

HOST CLUB CONTEST:
▶ If you remember how last year's Student/Faculty Auctions went and how the Pokemon Contests work, this may feel familiar. Your character needs to pay a measly $5 entry fee (which will be a charitable donation to help those involved in drug riot incidents) and then they can enter in any of the contest categories; Coolness, Beauty, Cuteness, Intelligence, and Strength. PERFORM your act of [insert category here] and impress everyone! Get creative, use your Smashing Skills and wow the crowd. If you damage the stage or make a mess, Connor and Flint will probably not be happy with you.
▶ As an audience member, you cast your vote by typing a +1 into your subject title (not unlike the auctions with the dollar amounts). That's it! You can vote as many times as you like, just not for multiple times for the same person in the same category (so no +2's or +3's or +9000's). You can, however, vote for the same person once in each category if they are competing in more than one. You can cast a vote for more than one person per category.
▶ Votes will be tallied up OOCly Thursday or Friday, and we will start a new thread to announce the winner.

She did pause blatantly when he addressed her. She hadn't expected to see Cyrus in the slightest and it was almost a little flustering. She was dressed from head to toe in a fashion that she was pretty sure she'd never been before. If anything, she almost felt a little more human.

Then she smiled and nodded. "Yes. That's true. It would seem my dream is a tree bearing fruit." Her head tipped as she rested a hand at her collarbone, "What is it that's brought you here?"

"Support. As you know, Rhys is..." Well, he wasn't a friend because that would imply an emotional bond "...an ally of mine. I value him, and thus support him. It is mutually beneficial."

Though outside he seemed his normal calm, distant, and vaguely intimidating self, Cyrus's thoughts raced, seeming to pitch up when he glanced at her. "...This place evokes the season. A time of new beginning, of life springing from death. An appropiate theme for the cause. We must come out of winter and throw ourselves fully into the springtime. We must, above all else, have peace."

"That's very kind of you." She knew of Rhys, but wasn't very well acquainted with him. But it sounded like Cyrus had some kind of respect for him to speak so... glowingly.

Then she nodded in agreement, "Late last year Seth and I got together and we discussed potential themes for the next host club meeting. This was a combination of both of our ideas. I liked flowers and springtime. He thought it would be good to have a fundraiser for the victims of the recent outbreak of hostility in the city. Thus history was made."

Cyrus wasn't sure if he'd ever met Seth before. He decided to be on the safe side. "Tell me of him. For you to work so closely with someone must mean that they are pure of heart."

If only she really knew.

"Seth Richardson." She turned and looked around before she spotted the platinum blond with the ponytail in the handsome tailcoat. Voile pointed with her left hand, "There. Seth is the one responsible for the host club. This is the first time I've gotten to help him."

Then she smiled, "He's very kind. He's never been anything but generous to me. I once gave him flowers and he thought ample compensation was to take me out to dinner. He's very refined. Unique. I've never met anyone else like him, honestly. You don't know him? He's been here for a while."

For a brief flash, jealousy ran through Cyrus like a dread shiver. No, no, those things had to be kept far away! He grabbed a water glass and took a deep drink. "...I see," he murmured after an extensive draught. "I will have to speak with him at some point. For now, may I assist you in anything?"

There was a brief pause, because for as much as she could have been overwhelmed by the feelings in the room - and there were a lot - there was one she hadn't expected. From Cyrus, of all people. But she knew better than to capitalise on it.

Yet it didn't stop her from turning it over in her mind.

Her smile was very kind, not... professional, but sincere and warm, as if in one form or another, she'd matured. "I think I have everything in order. Have you had anything to eat? If not, you should invest a little time into the buffet table if sweets aren't your cup of tea, Cyrus." Then she added her next words carefully and with understanding, "Or do you think you'd prefer to just spend some time with me?"

She had...

He let out a sigh. "...farther to go," were the whispered words. "Defenses must hold..."

"No," he directed at her, "I have come on business. As you know, I am reviving the Galaxy Club to end this war, and have come to gain support for it. I trust in your alliance."

She heard him, but didn't catch it well and didn't understand it either.

Instead, he grabbed her attention when his tone grew sharp. Then she blinked at him. Purely clueless. Doe-eyed and genuinely unsure of what he was driving at. "My alliance?" She pointed to herself, "Excuse me for asking, but what is it that you want of me, Cyrus? I don't have much in the way of influence and I'm not really charming..."

"That you may support the Galaxy Club in its endeavor to end this war. Of course, you would be a welcome member as well."

Though he couldn't help but notice that she had addressed him by name rather than "professor".

"I appreciate that you value my opinion so much."

And of course there was going to be a 'but.' Didn't he remember anything that happened? Had he suddenly forgotten what he was accused of? What he tried to do? How untrustworthy he was? At his bare core, Cyrus still thought himself a god, and if he didn't think he was one, he was going to try to be one.

She couldn't support that.

"I'm not going to be of any help to you. I can't back up the kind of world you want to turn this into. As a creature of emotion, I can't bring myself to do that. You fight a war for an emotionless world without me."

Of course. She would reject the purity that would come with the new beginning, reject being made perfect.

But that was for this world. In the next, such resistance would be gone, and she would exist with no memory of anything but perfection.

"My aim with the Galaxy Club is simply to end this war. Once that has been achieved, you may split from us freely without hesitation or a second thought. I will not involve you further. But surely you wish to end the fighting or you would not have arranged this event."

"I think if you're thinking of getting involved in what's going on with the city, you're getting yourself in trouble."

Voile frowned and shook her head. "I can't agree with most of your lifestyle choices, but in the same respect, I don't really want to see you get hurt. But then, you're human, so I doubt anyone's going to do anything to you." Then she motioned to herself, "At this point, I'd rather help from the back lines. I went into FDC a couple of weeks ago and that turned out to be a massive mistake on my part."

Settling a hand upon her hip, her head tipped at the man before her, "Why not leave it to the professionals to do the direct investigation and do something that'll keep you out of harm's way? If people decide they want to unnecessarily jump into this, they're going to end up getting hurt. Unless you've got some kind of plan you've been calculating."

"Those you call 'professionals'..." he mused softly. "Do you consider them worthy of such a task? The war rages around us, Voile, and left in the hands of those in power, it will continue to do so. In power, such an...errant term. They are nothing of the sort compared to that mob..."

His eyes unfocused for a moment before coming into sharp clarity at her. "Contrary to what you may believe, my sense of self-preservation is quite strong. However, there comes a time where we must act personally or we, in our inaction, are as much to blame as those who would instigate violence. Money may aid the victims, but there will only be more and more unless this is cut off at the base. One does not merely bandage a gangrenous limb. It must be severed, or the body will die. And I will not see this land perish."

Not like that, anyway.

"I hear you and I understand," the gardevoir began. "But you should also consider that it would be better to form a union with those who have already begun the investigation on what is turning people entirely upside-down."

And it was true that she was terrified of going into FDC alone, especially after what happened with Chiyo and Blue. The humans had very little consideration for the vaporeon girl and they'd been brutal. It was all too easy to picture herself in the same position. But it was cowardly of her to stand there, looking so pretty, claiming she wanted to help the victims when charming clothes were only hiding what a coward she was.

But Marie and Phoenix wouldn't have handled her in danger well and she knew that. She couldn't just think about herself. She had to make sure they wouldn't worry either.

"There has to be a safer way to participate," she stated firmly. "Leave the actual fighting to the warriors. Everyone has a different strength and each individual should be embraced for said strengths. I certainly don't expect everyone involved to put themselves in harm's way." Then she shook her head, "I'm not sure if that makes sense."

"I have put forth many times exactly that opportunity and none have taken it. I will fight this with or without their alliance..."

But saying so was one thing. He was only one man, far from the divine being he planned on becoming, and if fate drew poorly he may never make it to that ultimate position. "I draw upon the resources of those here so that none of us linger in harm's way. That we may all be safe through that reliance."

Every alliance, to Cyrus, was temporary. Everyone was alone in the world and thus it was necessary to take what was needed. But right now, what was needed was peace.

"I fight, truly fight, not simply metaphorically working to stop it, because I am strong. Because my pokémon are strong. Because I must use that strength to put an end to this. And that is what I call upon you for. To lend a hand in this, no matter what role you take."

For many moments, she didn't say anything. Not because she was disagreeing with him, because honestly Cyrus was going to do whatever Cyrus wanted to do. She could guide him with little beacons of wisdom, but ultimate decisions were always left to him and that was precisely how it was supposed to be.

No... Her silence was for something else entirely.

Her green eyebrows furrowed and she shook her head. "If I somehow gave you the impression that I wasn't going to help, then I apologise. That wasn't my intent. I don't plan to put myself in direct danger, but I'd guess my empathic and telepathic abilities might very well come in handy, so if there comes a need for them, I guess I'll have to do that."

Unlike a moment ago, there was no change in his emotions, though his expressed an upturn in his lips, as if this outcome was known to him all along. "That was what I sought. Your alliance, in any way you may lend. It is what I seek from all, to do whatever they are capable of."

She nodded and offered a light sigh, "Yes, I'd had plans to help the less fortunate all along."

Voile motioned around them, "What do you really think this is all for? The money Seth and I are raising are going to be put into helping the victims. And I'm sure whatever excess we have, we'll be putting forward to the investigations, I'm sure."

Then she smiled, "Even as I stand here, I'm not powerless."

"That much is understood. Though I speak of something more than money. Fortunes are useless without the proper channeling. Action must be taken, above all else." Again, his eyes unfocused, staring off into the distance at some imaginary point. "Where, then, is the money going? How will it be distributed?"

She tried to follow his gaze, but unable to do so, she found herself looking back at Seth with some thought. "Hm... I don't know the specifics. When Seth said we should do something for the less fortunate, I jumped on board without a second thought. He's a very charismatic man. I don't doubt that he could use the funds appropriately."

"Hm," he mused. "I believe it necessary to, as they say, follow the money. Oftentimes charitable organizations are anything but, and it is self-defeating for a donator to give to them. Will you do so?"

"I do intend to offer some input as to where Seth ultimately places the funds. Since we're working together on this, any money we raise is under our partnership. It'd be rather silly to assume he'd make any such decisions without my input."

Or she just thought really highly of the man, which certainly wasn't a falsehood.
