What time is it? DORM LOG TIME.

Who: [livejournal.com profile] sumabura_gakuen
What: Dorm hijinks and etc. Whatever you want.
Where: Student and Teacher dorms, and quite possibly beyond. Do what you need! ✩
When: April 30 - May 15
Warnings: I wrote 'hijinks'. That should explain everything.

Ripped off the last one: Basically, here's what this is: we all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good portal for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR and the like.

Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Anything and everything is possible. Harrass your least favorite teacher by throwing oranges at their window! Play your favorite survival horror game at night while subjecting your squeamish friends to your dark tastes! Get into a squabble with your next door neighbors about unappreciated late-hour rackets! Confess your love to the girl of your dreams after class is over! It can all be yours if you make a thread. So have at it! Show this log no mercy.

Cowboys? I suppose you mean like Clay, and soldiers... like in the history books. I never had those kinds of toys. I always had Poke Dolls, train sets, my skateboard ramp, my basketball court...

[Yep. He lived a luxurious life, no matter how disgusting Ghetsis was about it.]

Re: N's and Bark's Room

[identity profile] boxingmidget.livejournal.com 2011-05-01 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[Wow N, you...did a lot of stuff when you were a kid. And you HAD those things. N was from a wealthy family?]

Whoa, so you played a lotta sports didja? They had that kind of stuff in the city but I didn't play much 'till I got around junior high. By then I was still mostly boxin' focused. But now, I like all those kinds of sports. The city's got so many places to play that stuff too.

[Hmmm...Mac looked down for a second. Was he thinking about something? Probably. N had mentioned his homeland and homelife, Mac as well, but Mac was wondering if it was any of his business to ask more. Was it fair? Perhaps? Mainly because not even Mac was 100% comfortable with the subject himself. Part of him was honestly just curious what Unova was like. And Mac liked N a fair bit, he also just wanted to know more about him.]

New York's a weird but fun place. Especially at night. It's like a light show there. It was some place to grow up.

Re: N's and Bark's Room

[identity profile] surpass.livejournal.com 2011-05-01 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
The sound of it reminds me of Castelia City. It is a fairly large city and very lit up. It feels so... grandiose, and I don't know if I could ever live in it.

[Too many people for his tastes. FDC was pretty big, but not as big as Castelia in his eyes. It felt just right.]

I played many sports inside of my castle, but I was never permitted to go outside and play sports with others. I even came to resent the idea for a time...

[That was Ghetsis' fault.]

Re: N's and Bark's Room

[identity profile] boxingmidget.livejournal.com 2011-05-01 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah you told me about that place...[He tried to picture it again. N had also said they were similar before.]...Haha, well, the city life ain't for everyone. I know many people who prefer the mountains or the country. I for one, I'm just used to it. All the noise and people really don't bother me none.

[That's right...N was homeschooled. Mac was willing to believe he was sheltered due to N not knowing of some technology and the like. He's gotten that snippet and it was kind of evident now.]

I hope you don't mind me sayin' that that ain't right...Kids should be allowed to go outside and make friends, not keep you inside the...

[Whoa, wait.]

...Castle? You lived in a castle? [N NEVER MENTIONED THAT.]

Re: N's and Bark's Room

[identity profile] surpass.livejournal.com 2011-05-02 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, right. N never did inform Mac about that, didn't he? He frowned a little as his hand idly pushed the train around on the tracks, all while Zoroark eyed it. Oooh, train.]

Well... yes. For a time, you could say I was a ruler.

[He paused for a moment. He soon decided that it would be alright to tell Mac this, as so far, he was earning his trust.]

I was the king of Team Plasma... a team developed to liberate all Pokemon from people. At least, that was the intention.

WALL OF TEXT

[identity profile] boxingmidget.livejournal.com 2011-05-02 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Give him a minute, N. He eyed the moving train as if that was a representation of his brain trying to work. N seemed like an incredibly sincere guy. He was a king. A ruler. A ruler that wanted to liberate something from another something. He liked Pokemon that much. But there had to be more to the story...One doesn't just go from there to here in a flash. A lot must have happened. From how welcoming N had been toward Mac, he can't even begin to make a negative judgment. He was N's friend and Mac was determined for it to stay that way no matter what he learned. N was N, and all that.]

Some of this is old news to you by now but I know of people who haven't treated Pokemon that well. I can see how that bugged anyone. It bugged me too. When I learned about it, it made me sick whenever I thought about it. But I don't think I would agree to somethin' like that...

[Mac paused.]

From the stuff I've seen, I told you also, there are people who love Pokemon and treat 'em like family. And I told you about my friends that happen to be Pokemon...dunno what I'd do if they weren't around.

[But N seemed different, not the type to believe that anymore. He used "was".]

But, if I'm listenin' right, you used to be like that. So that meant you changed...

[Looking at the train again.]

I ain't judgin' you one little bit, wouldn't dream of it. I told you, I liked you. That ain't changin'. But what happened? Could you tell me?

Re: WALL OF TEXT

[identity profile] surpass.livejournal.com 2011-05-02 01:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[N was at first unsure if he should open up, but at the same time... Mac was being very accepting and calm. He genuinely seemed to like him. He didn't want to let a friendship like that slide from his fingers like sand.]

...

[He exhaled deeply and stared down at the train as he shoved it along.]

My father manipulated me to believe that all humans treated Pokemon terribly. He... used me to create a team that supposedly wanted to liberate Pokemon, yet that couldn't be farther from the truth. He wanted the legendary Pokemon, Zekrom and Reshiram. He wanted to rule the world... and take all Pokemon for him.

[His gaze grew harsh on the train. The feelings he had for his father now were complicated, but they all rooted back to one thing: hatred.]

He used me as a puppet and nothing more than a puppet.

Re: WALL OF TEXT

[identity profile] boxingmidget.livejournal.com 2011-05-02 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[Don't worry, N. He'll respect your opening up. He'll do so as well when the situation called for it...like...now.]

[He listened to his words and felt a fire inside himself. How DARE N's dad. How. Dare. He. Using his own son like that. Using his own son's feelings against him. That was...His face grew angry, but not at N. He was going to said something.]

He...

...Doesn't even deserve to be called a dad. I never met 'im but he sounds like the worst excuse for one. Let alone, goes without sayin', he sounds like a bad excuse for a person.

[He took that story to heart, his face might have shown that.]

You're much better than 'im. He ain't got that grip on you anymore.

Re: WALL OF TEXT

[identity profile] surpass.livejournal.com 2011-05-02 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[N felt his heart sink a little once that look came across Mac's face, but once he was assured that it was because of Ghetsis and not him... well, that did make him feel a little better. A little. At least he didn't think less of him. That was important.

Ghetsis, however, didn't even deserve an inkling of that respect. Ghetsis took his life and flipped it upside down. He called him a defective, stupid ingrate with abnormalities, and that just didn't settle right on him that his father thought that way about him.

He tipped his head downward and brought his hat down over his eyes.
]

No. I wouldn't allow him to manipulate me anymore. This is why I came here. I came to find my own path in life. My own, not his. A way to help Pokemon without taking them away from all humans- rather, only those humans who are abusive.

I've seen so many trainers bond with their Pokemon, something I've never seen until now. It changed me. My beliefs, they faltered, and...

[He trailed off. It was a bit difficult to express himself here.]

Re: WALL OF TEXT

[identity profile] boxingmidget.livejournal.com 2011-05-02 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
So a start over. I see.

[No way in hell was Mac judging him. A pure sense of the phrase...N was an abuse soul. Who got smacked around by his father in the most cruel way possible. Manipulation. Then mock. From his words, the guy was still out there. If he ever saw him...]

You did the right thing to that. You didn't deserve that to happen to you. But changin' like that...you musta had a lotta guts.

Re: WALL OF TEXT

[identity profile] surpass.livejournal.com 2011-05-02 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I should remain strong. I may not be a hero to Pokemon now, and yet...

[He looks to his bed, where Zoroark still peeks from. He is listening silently, that is for sure.]

This is the only direction I can go for now. I expect forks in the road. There will be tough decisions. I will simply have to keep my will about me.

And then Azelf cheered from afar okay no

Re: WALL OF TEXT

[identity profile] boxingmidget.livejournal.com 2011-05-02 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I know you like Pokemon and you'd do anythin' to do 'em good. I don't think it does anythin' cuttin' yourself so short.

[Again. Guts. Lots of it.]

You're really brave, N. I mean it.

You realize what you once were and what happened and you move on...that's what you can do right now. Betterin' yourself...I know how it is.

[It was scary actually, now that Mac thought about it...Mac eyed the train again.]

...I think we're a lot more alike that way.

[He took a small breath.]

Re: WALL OF TEXT

[identity profile] surpass.livejournal.com 2011-05-02 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Mm?

Did... you have a similar issue?

[N that kind of think is probably not very common wtf.]

Re: WALL OF TEXT

[identity profile] boxingmidget.livejournal.com 2011-05-02 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Well...

[Okay, Mac was heading down this road already and was ready to do it. So here he went. He was ready. Come on, Mac. Spit it out. Not THAT hard. You've done it a number of times, dammit!]

I don't think I ever got along great with my parents either. They never liked the idea with me and boxing and well...I was a huge chicken and a crybaby back then. Came home with bruises and all sorts of stuff from school. Couldn't make friends easy.

After a huge accident, I wanted to change myself. So I worked hard to do so. And well, now I'm here.

That was about five years ago. My parents ain't around anymore.

Re: WALL OF TEXT

[identity profile] surpass.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
I see. You... You are very brave.

[N paused for a moment, at a loss for words. What else could he even say? His eyes shifted to the nearby window as he watched the sunlight flood into the room, despite the dreary atmosphere.]

You have overcome a large obstacle, yes? You should feel proud, I suppose.

Re: WALL OF TEXT

[identity profile] boxingmidget.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
In a way, I am proud.

[A weakest of smiles.]

I'm happy with my life right now. I made the best friends a guy could ask for. I'm doin' what I like to do and I worked hard for every single bit of it. I meant what I said, I ain't afraid of hard work. It's gotta be done sometimes to get where ya wanna be. And well, despite the bad there was a lotta good. I'll miss my folks all the time but I couldn't afford to dwell on it for too long...

[No matter how much the trauma still hurts a lot from time to time and eats him a little, what he's saying here was fact. But he wasn't going to admit the trauma associated with this at all.]

I don't even really talk about it too much.

Re: WALL OF TEXT

[identity profile] surpass.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
[That touched N's heart in the gentlest of ways. Mac seemed so dedicated, yet so proud of how his life was. Maybe... Maybe this whole boxing thing wasn't as bad as he thought. It seemed to make him so happy.]

I don't talk about what happened to me very much either. It is... a tad difficult. Yet I...

[N paused, unsure of what to say. He felt unsure about what to do.

He only recalled being able to do one thing. He did it to his Pokemon when they felt sad, so... maybe a human wouldn't mind.

He gave Mac a hug.
]

Re: WALL OF TEXT

[identity profile] boxingmidget.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
That's okay, I get that...

[Oh. A hug. Hello hug. Mac paused for a moment. But Mac liked hugs okay. He never was opposed to hugs. Not ever. Maybe this situation called for hug. Situations like this were warm and Mac cherished them. Yeah it totally did call for it. Mac returned the hug with one as well.]

Re: WALL OF TEXT

[identity profile] surpass.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
[And then Zoroark interrupted by shoving his nose in between them. SUP GUYS, HOW YOU DOING, CAN I HAVE A HUG TOO. N had to laugh.]

Zoroark! Did you want to cheer us up?

[YEP. Zoroark conveyed that by giving each boy a lick on the cheek.]

Re: WALL OF TEXT

[identity profile] boxingmidget.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
[To that, Mac also laughed.]

I guess that's a yes!

[Zoroark, you are such a pal. It looked like the mood had been lifted. Mac was glad we were all buds here.]

Re: WALL OF TEXT

[identity profile] surpass.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
Mm. Now... do you wish to stay a while longer? I have quite a few toys you might like.

[Zoroark was going for one of them right now. It was a little Hot Wheels-esque car stage sort of thing. It was adorb.]

Re: WALL OF TEXT

[identity profile] boxingmidget.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure. I came here to hang out and have fun afterall.

[It was all said and done anyway. Awww look at Zoroark and his little car. He looked toward the part of the room where the MP3 player was.]

I also wanted to see how your MP3 player's comin' along? Workin' okay for you?

Re: WALL OF TEXT

[identity profile] surpass.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 05:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm? Ah, yes, that.

[N glances over to it and frowns.]

It seems alright, but I'm not sure how to put music in it.

[derp]

Re: WALL OF TEXT

[identity profile] boxingmidget.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[He was prepared for that. He was so prepared.]

Well, I could totally help you out there right now, buddy.

[WELP. He got up, he had decided what he was doing.]

Computer on?

[identity profile] surpass.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Not now, but I can turn it on.

[He goes to his bed andddd TA-DA there is a laptop there. And a Carracosta. Who may or may not have moved it there.

N pressed the buttons and, once it got into the Windrows 7 operating system. BAM. There was N's computer.

... His wallpaper was the default wallpaper. He wasn't very good at this, clearly.
