merry merry christmas, and I want you to know
Who: YOU
What: KISSLETOES
When: December 14th - January 1st
Where: Everywhere
Warnings: Sloppy makeouts.
SUDDENLY, AND WITHOUT WARNING...

The entire school has become covered in mistletoe overnight. It grows out of the walls! The ceilings! Everywhere you least expect it? HOW CAN THIS BE??
It's probably best not to think about it. Attempts to uproot the plants or burn them away only makes the plants grow back faster. For the time being, it seems the school must live with it.
[OOC INSTRUCTIONS:
+ Post dudes, get kisses!
+ Some (NOT ALL) plants are cursed. If you manage to step under a cursed plant, you will exchange a memory when or if you exchange a kiss. The memories will be first-person and very vivid, and characters will feel like they are experiencing the memory in real time, though in reality the transfer is instantaneous. Memories can be as short, long, happy, sad, or traumatic as you like.
+ If you'd like to participate, we highly suggest making a list of a few memories (with accompanying links/descriptions) that are up for grabs, and linking or posting the list in your top-level comment. Memory exchange is COMPLETELY OPTIONAL. When in doubt, OOC communication!
+ PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TAG YOUR CHARACTERS
+ That's it, we love you.]

She pulled a face in thought as she went through her list of different guys she'd admired for this, that, or the other reason. And in some cases, she had to admit that she must have been a glutton for punishment as well. Some of the guys in her history were just no good for her and she'd known it and gone and done it anyway. Meaning, she'd probably deserved what she endured, after all.
"I was pretty sure I didn't have to be restricted to one type. Confident guys. Bashful guys. Cool guys. Not-so-good guys. Really good guys. I guess my liking is a bit unconditional."
no subject
He shrugged. Out of the girls he'd met so far, there wasn't enough correlation to assemble a type. Except that two of them were purple.
And had the same voice actress. Then again, he probably did have a 'type' that he just didn't know about yet. The Other Him had enough of an idea of what he liked that he wound up married. Married to a girl who had been born as a walking talking mushroom. So there was a thing. Though, the Other Him had been able to become a Human, to...
"I guess that stuff comes with, uh. Y'know. Time. Experience."
Needing more than two hands to count the number of ladies you knew on a first name basis.
no subject
Voile patted him on the head with a grand smile, "It's a good thing you've got my company, right? I'll help you with everything you need."
no subject
Yeah. But she isn't touching you right now, Knuckles. That would make a difference.
"I appreciate you offering to help me like that. I'll take you up on it." Which wasn't something the Echidna would normally do. He wasn't usually interested in getting help. But, if it meant spending more time with her? Oh, he could set aside his pride, just a little bit.
no subject
Voile maintained a sly little smile, as if she had an ulterior motive, which surprisingly, she did not. "That's what friends are for. It's hard to rebuild what we missed out on if we're not helping one another. And luckily for you, I have plenty of things planned for the future that you can help me out with in return, and they ought to be much easier."
no subject
That was kind of his specialty. That and smashing giant rocks and punching down walls and.... well. He wasn't sure he could see many scenarios where a gentle girl like her needed things broken like that.
"I got your back!"
no subject
Voile nodded in a matter-of-fact fashion before she continued. "You see, I operate and host contests—akin to pageants—and what is referred to as a host club. In setting up for shows, I certainly do need the manpower."
It helped that the Knuckles from before had been good at it, so she knew very well what he was capable of.
no subject
This was more familiar territory for him and his confidence was coming back in waves. Kissing? Total novice. Inexperienced, embarrassed, likely to blush and be an idiot about it for a while yet. Shifting heavy junk? He was the King, baby.
"You point it out, tell me where you want it, and I'll get it there. No fuss, no muss. I'm your guy."
no subject
"I can do that," she reassured him with a smile. "You have no need to sell me on it. I already know what you're capable of. I wouldn't have asked if I hadn't known."
no subject
Hey, he wasn't to know what Other Him had said about everything. He could probably make a pretty good guess, but he wouldn't know for sure.
"What else did He used to help you with?"
no subject
Voile quieted as she thought about her history with Knuckles. Truth be told, the echidna had always made himself available for her. If she needed him, and most of the time she'd been too independent. But he'd been her support through a variety of sorrows and losses.
"Hm... Once there was a blackout. A couple of years ago. The entire ground of the academy lost power and he called me, came to my room, and kept me company until I fell asleep." She chortled as she continued. "Basically, any time I needed him he was there. He was a good friend and incredibly reliable. So I know that you will be both a good friend and incredibly reliable."
no subject
...he had yet to learn about ghost Pokémon.
no subject
Not that she would have listened, of course.
"Untrue," she corrected him gently. "The drama instructor is an apparition of some form. Madame Flurrie is her name. I like her, though. And one of the... students is a ghost as well. He is fine as well." An outright lie, sort of. A lie to anyone else, but nothing short of the truth to her.
no subject
That idea was going to take a little getting used to, frankly. Ghosts, where he was from, never meant anything good.
"Well. If you're OK with 'em, that's.... fine. I mean, it's fine. I'll be fine."
Ghosts. Why'd it have to be ghosts?
no subject
It must have been that empathic and telepathic charm of hers.
no subject
"Good, because where I'm from, even my hardest punches only make ghosts go away for a short time. And you can't reason with 'em, either."
Which order he'd tried those two options in was anyone's guess.
no subject
Eggman.
The guy who was responsible for killing the Kraken.
Cyrus, who wasn't there any longer.
Warren, who didn't seem to have any plans of repeating the past.
Basically, there were some bad eggs, but those were everywhere.
no subject
"Don't worry. If you're ever in danger, I'll fix it. I've helped save my whole world plenty of times. I know how to deal with bad guys." he said, cracking his knuckles and grinning at her. "Anyone who messes wi' you won't know what hit them. Till they see it was my fist."
no subject
And there it was. Confirmation that her charming power of suggestion certainly was effective. Voile could play the part of the weakling and some people liked the idea of being needed. And it helped that she knew Knuckles had been the sort of guy who would look after her. In a way, it was a little thrilling because it was akin to creating her own little empire. Before, such things had only been inadvertent. She had seemed gentle and willowy, easy to break, and she'd not corrected anyone.
It was the first time she willingly said she was weaker than she was.
"Oh, good," she crooned in soft reply. "I'll be relying on you quite a bit it seems, then. I hope you won't mind too much."
no subject
So, she might never need him to punch boulders out of her path or destroy a giant robotic monstrosity. She might never need him to hunt down a powerful artifact or use his skills to carry her to a half-pipe maze to collect an emerald. But that didn't matter. If all she needed was someone to sit there with her in the dark and give her someone to talk to? He could apparently do that. Or move decorations around a pageant hall? He could apparently do that, too. Maybe he had more skills and talents than he'd realized?
It was kind of nice to think that he could diversify, even if just a little.
"Anything you need. I mean it. Anything."
no subject
And she'd hold him to it. She wasn't sure what she'd need him for yet, but a few months down the way and she had a host club and contest in plan. Springtime seemed like a good thing to celebrate.
"Thank you, Knuckles." She wove her hands together with a bright smile. "It was nice to come through for you today, but you owe me in the future."
no subject
He was just the kind of honor bound
suckerguy who would go to ridiculous lengths to repay a debt. And it didn't hurt that it was a debt to a super pretty lady. Nothing wrong with that.no subject
Knuckles was just a piece of eye candy that Voile turned into an all day sucker."Right!" she agreed with a brighter grin. "One good turn deserves another, they say. So that means don't get caught up in too much trouble. Meaning, try to avoid the mistletoe. I might not always be around to save you. Unless you need me to babysit you or something."
Which she was mostly kidding about. Sort of.
