It's a beautiful spring evening at Smash Academy, the barest hints of summer just beginning to touch the stadium floor, which had been rearranged into a platform overlooking neat rows of chairs meant to seat the gathered crowd of faculty and students. Towards the other end of the complex was the arrangement for the prom that was to follow. Food and drink, chairs and tables, each with a floral centerpiece, and, of course, a dance floor.



Before everyone could get their party on, however, there was the main event of the evening. From his place at the podium, Master Hand watched students and staff alike find their way into the stadium. With the recent shadow bug invasion, there seemed to be tensions in need of dispelling. If the Headmaster knew one thing, however, it was that some silly antics were not going to ruin this esteemed event. Not tonight. Not if he could help it.

HEY DUDES! Here's how stuff is going to work. We kick off the log with GRADUATION. This part of the log will be divided into separate threads. I'll post them all at once, so feel free to hop around, mingle, post whenever, wherever.

HOWEVER, once the PROM starts, it will be up to you guys to post your own threads. Please check out last year's log if you'd like an idea of how this works. Everything after the thread titled "DISMISSAL" (I will post that in a bit, so don't post prom threads until I have that up!) will be considered prom, though don't let that stop you from continuing to post in the graduation section.

Please label all your threads appropriately! (Examples: "SHENANIGANS AT THE FOOD TABLE", "DANCE-OFF", "THE PUNCH IS SPIKED", "BOTHER X" In general, a location + what is going on in the thread is the way to go. Obviously, more than one thread can take place at the same location. 

Linking back and forth when and if you thread hop is very much appreciated. If things start to look a bit laggy, we'll bump to the next page. Most importantly, TAG YOUR DUDES, HAVE FUN, and let a mod know about any problems or concerns you might have!

"Oh, uh, thanks!" She replied, still not quite used to being complimented that way. "You look really nice, too!"

She may have been a little on the dim side, but Aoi could certainly recognize when someone was not exactly functioning at 100%. It also may have had something to do with the fact that Hajime seemed to be afflicted with the worst sunburn she'd seen in a long time.

"Hey, are you feeling all right?"

He tried to keep the smile up, but it was waning by the second. The mere thought of him looking "really nice" at the moment required effort not to snort. By her question, he figured the grin for a lost cause, and gave up on it.

"I've... been better, I must admit. I'd hoped attending this affair might lift my spirits, but I suspect I've only dampened others'."

"Are you sick?"

She felt a little better asking that now that he'd basically confirmed he wasn't feeling well--why come out here if you weren't feeling well?

"Don't worry. I have just the thing for when you're sick. Besides rest and fluids, I mean. Are you getting rest and fluids?"

It was very important to get rest and fluids.

"Recovering from a bit of a fever, yes... the worst of it has passed, but a bit of malaise lingers."

Casually avoiding that second question, as well as any details. Fluids were hard to get until recently, and rest had never been his strongest suit.

"I should have known you'd know how to take care of your body. I certainly welcome advice to block any potential relapse."

God forbid.

[glazedandconfused]

"You should try kanpumasatsu, if you haven't already." Because, besides rest and fluids, Aoi sort of swore by standing outside in the cold and rubbing yourself down with a towel. "It's a little warm for it, I guess, but it's good for you! Keeps you healthy."

She did it. All the time. Look how healthy she was.

"I can show you how, if you've never done it before."

He blinked at her, eyebrows arching.

"You... you don't say."

She just liked using towels a lot, admit it.

"I can't say I've heard about that sort of thing since elementary school, I don't think."

[glazedandconfused]

No. No, look. Look how serious she was about kanpumasatsu.

"Well, it works. I haven't been sick since..."

Hang on. Apparently Aoi had to think about the last time she was ill.

"Well, I guess it was back when Ishimaru had the flu. But nothing since then!"

Well, six months is a better track record than some, at least. He gives a weary grin.

"Well, with such a fervent recommendation, I suppose there's no harm in trying to incorporate it into my schedule."

He will do whatever it takes to not get sick like that again.

"I guarantee it works!"

Sort of. Maybe. Aoi apparently attributes her good health to obsessive kanpumasatsu, as opposed the ridiculous shape that she's in. She does, of course, make note of how ridiculously miserable Hajime looks.

"Must have been some cold."

The smirk faded away with a shrug, glance skimming off over the dance floor.

"I don't like to brag of how bad a time I've had. That's not what these sorts of celebrations are for, after all. Suffice to say, I'm glad the worst is past, and... hope that things can only improve from there."

However, his tone said that he doubted it.

[glazedandconfused]

"Well, if you follow my regimen, they definitely will!"

As clueless as she is at times, however, Aoi can easily see that this cold was apparently something very awful, so she decides to deal with that the best way she knows how.

"Do you want to dance, Hajime? It can't be any fun over here all by yourself."

Somehow, the offer to dance at a dance party managed to catch Hajime off guard.

"I, that's... thank you--is that all right? I mean, you... came with a date... I mean, not that--err."

How do dates work. How does being close to a girl work.
