It's a beautiful spring evening at Smash Academy, the barest hints of summer just beginning to touch the stadium floor, which had been rearranged into a platform overlooking neat rows of chairs meant to seat the gathered crowd of faculty and students. Towards the other end of the complex was the arrangement for the prom that was to follow. Food and drink, chairs and tables, each with a floral centerpiece, and, of course, a dance floor.

Before everyone could get their party on, however, there was the main event of the evening. From his place at the podium, Master Hand watched students and staff alike find their way into the stadium. With the recent shadow bug invasion, there seemed to be tensions in need of dispelling. If the Headmaster knew one thing, however, it was that some silly antics were not going to ruin this esteemed event. Not tonight. Not if he could help it.

HEY DUDES! Here's how stuff is going to work. We kick off the log with GRADUATION. This part of the log will be divided into separate threads. I'll post them all at once, so feel free to hop around, mingle, post whenever, wherever.

HOWEVER, once the PROM starts, it will be up to you guys to post your own threads. Please check out last year's log if you'd like an idea of how this works. Everything after the thread titled "DISMISSAL" (I will post that in a bit, so don't post prom threads until I have that up!) will be considered prom, though don't let that stop you from continuing to post in the graduation section.

Please label all your threads appropriately! (Examples: "SHENANIGANS AT THE FOOD TABLE", "DANCE-OFF", "THE PUNCH IS SPIKED", "BOTHER X" In general, a location + what is going on in the thread is the way to go. Obviously, more than one thread can take place at the same location.   Linking back and forth when and if you thread hop is very much appreciated. If things start to look a bit laggy, we'll bump to the next page. Most importantly, TAG YOUR DUDES, HAVE FUN, and let a mod know about any problems or concerns you might have!

"Falcon," said Max, projecting a box-like shadow.

"I see you haven't exploded out of your shirt yet."

Though he was sure it would only be a matter of time.

"It's expensive to explode outta dress shirts. I gotta get these things tailored," Max explained. "Tell 'em to add a couple extra inches everywhere, that way it'll last for a couple months."

Oh right yes of course how could he forget.

"Right, yeah, of course. How could I forget."

"The necktie's hard to get, though," said Max. "Gotta order those special, too. Regular neckties sorta just... don't work."

"I can't possibly imagine why," Falcon said lazily, though of course he could very much imagine why.

"Though, honestly I'm not sure anyone would begrudge you for skipping the tie."

"I dress up like two or three times a year. The least I can do is do it right, yeah?" said Max. "Never do nothin' in part that you can't do in full, right?"

Falcon looked Max up and down, feeling as though that explained absolutely everything.

"Yeah."

TIME FOR...a subject change, if only to make Falcon feel better about himself, probably. "You come with anyone this year?"

"Just me, Tank, and Boulder," said Max, lightly flexing his arms as he mentioned his two best friends.

"Sasha left school and, uh, that was sort of a confusin' mess anyway and, uh, ain't had anybody since then."

Just Max, Tank, and Boulder.

Please enjoy. A heavy sigh.

"Max, you're allowed to say you're going stag, saying you're here with your biceps just sounds pathetic."

Falcon would always have this.

"Guess I'm the pathetic guy with the biceps, then," said the guy with the biceps.

Max's arms would always be larger than his.

"Yeah, I guess you are."

Falcon was getting laid tonight.

Max looked at a sandwich he had on a plate and, before shoving it into his mouth unceremoniously, he posed a question.

"You ever wish they made, like, protein bar sandwiches?" he asked.

"No," he answered without missing a beat. "No, I haven't."

"I do. It's hard eat to 350 grams of protein in a day," said Max, looking back at the sandwiches he was eating. "It'd just be convenient to get a sandwich with like 30 grams of protein in it."

"Or you could just have a regular sandwich?"

You know, with like, cold cuts and stuff. "Or a burger, or something?"

"There's only like 13 grams of protein in a burger patty," said Max. "If I could get, like, just a burger with two burger patties instead of buns, it'd help."

"I bet you could ask. I don't think it would be unreasonable."

Nancy was a reasonable lunch bear, after all.

"Yeah, but, makes a big mess when you eat that with just your hands."

He's tried, Falcon. He's tried.

"If you're going to sit down and eat like six hamburger patties, just use a knife and fork."

Falcon would have thought that was obvious.

"But the convenience of a sandwich," said Max, thinking fondly of sandwiches, "You don't wanna eat hamburgers with a knife and fork. It's unnatural."

"See, I'm giving you suggestions, but you don't seem to want to even try them. You can have a sandwich, or you can have your thirty grams of protein."

The choice was yours, Max.

"Or put all the burgers between two slices of bread. Drink protein shakes at lunch. I don't care."

"I do drink protein shakes at lunch. And breakfast. And dinner. And post workout. I just wish they'd invent a protein bread. A guy can only drink so many protein shakes before he wished protein shakes came in a flavor that wasn't vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, or chocolate peanut butter."

"Maybe you should figure it out. Maybe this is going to be how you make billions of dollars."

Falcon shrugged. He did not need to figure this out, because he'd already made billions of dollars.

"Don't know what I don't with a billion dollars. Don't need it," said Max. "I got enough to be happy. Just, you know, don't have protein bread."
