SUDDENLY, AND WITHOUT WARNING...



The entire school has become covered in mistletoe overnight. It grows out of the walls! The ceilings! Everywhere you least expect it? HOW CAN THIS BE??

It's probably best not to think about it. Attempts to uproot the plants or burn them away only makes the plants grow back faster. For the time being, it seems the school must live with it.

The astute might find an unassuming note pinned the bulletin board in the main office. WHAT COULD IT POSSIBLY MEAN??

The anticipation made Chihiro's heart beat louder with every second, but he too could tell that Mondo seemed to be on the edge himself. Time felt like it was passing on standstill, every moment the strange feeling on his stomach build up through the anxiety.

It was just a kiss. It was just. A Kiss. His head repeated the mantra to calm himself from the butterflies that rage in his stomach. But, it was a kiss from his -possibly, most certainly- close friend. Regardless, Mondo seems to be going for it. It was just a kiss. A kiss that would otherwise not happen if they weren't glued to the floor.

On impulse, Chihiro leaned in to kiss Mondo. Right on the lips.

"Mm!" It was soft contact, but the impact was hard and fast inside his head. The expectation had been there, to give or receive the gesture and it still had the power to send voltage through him. Maybe it was because he'd been trying to work up the gumption to go for the kiss himself and didn't expect Chihiro to initiate it instead. It's a cliche notion, but he swore his heart skipped a beat.

Mondo barely moved even then, forced to do nothing but get kissed and that might as well be for the best because if he moved, even kissed back any more than he did (which may have been a bit of a tilt forward to receive it better, nothing more), it could have sent weird signals. After the kiss was over, he looked at Chihiro with surprise, but couldn't maintain eye contact for long since they... well, they just kissed. He moved his hand over his mouth carefully and continued to have his heart get flipped around like a warm hotcake.

"Sorry you... had to do that," he said after a few rounds of pauses.

He didn't thought much of it really, in fact, strangely enough that his instincts were telling him to wrapped his arms around the taller boy and deepen the kiss. To say he didn't thought much of it perhaps wasn't entirely correct, rather he couldn't think straight. What little he could register perhaps was the deafening sound of his heart beat and how hot his face felt at that moment.

When Mondo pulled back, his eyes darted away, "it's.... it's..." 'No, thank you, it was perfectly alright'? 'It was nice'? 'Thank you for the help'? "... fine. It's, um, fine... thank you."

"...Good." Not quite the best or most eloquent response, but his mind couldn't work up decent conversation at the moment. It didn't help that Chihiro's meek reaction sort of shot the last dart at his heart. No one, especially no boy, should be allowed to be this cute.

He stood around awkwardly, none of them able to look each other in the eye. It was becoming unbearable standing there trying to hide his soft skippy feelings so Mondo worked up an excuse. "Think I'm gonna head off now. L-later." The gang leader turned to leave, raising a hand as a token of goodbye.

Chihiro simply nodded, albeit even more shy than usual.

Once his heart had reasonably settled down, Mondo had already walked up rather far, though he was still close enough for him to call out; "O-Oowada-kun! Thanks again!"

With that, he turned to the other direction, and walked away as fast as he could. Possibly to the library, his dorm, the computer lab; oh heck, anywhere where he could shrink off for awhile and think about what just had happened or why that made him even more nervous than any other kiss so far.
