Dorm Log: School's in session

Who: All of Smash.
What: Dorm log! September edition.
Where: Student and Teacher dorms, and quite possibly beyond campus.
When: The span of September 15th - 30th.
Warnings: HAHAHAHAHA.

Ripped off the last one and all its friends: Basically, here's how this works. We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment, but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!

Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Just add a thread with the room number (and date/time, if it matters) and the characters that reside there (just for reference!). You do not have to use one character's thread as a dual-purpose for both characters if you do not want to. Doesn't have to be a dorm room, either, if you have something else in mind. It could be the common room or the student science lab or wherever. So how's that first week of school been treating you? How big's your pile of homework? Sure, you could be doing that. But why do that when you could decimate your friendships by playing a round of Giana Party 4? Host a girl's-only slumber party! Spy on a girl's-only slumber party! Dare someone to spend the night in the haunted dorm! Slip a (fake) love letter beneath that special someone's door! Etcetera, etcetera... I'm sure you can think of something to get your bad self up to.

Mac was the king of going with a gut feeling, giving no thought. He just knew after a while of trying to find rhyme or reason, today had to be the day.

Mac didn't want to leave it alone anymore.

Luckily, Red might find he wasn't a hard guy to get forgiveness from. Red just had to talk to him first.

After all, Mac knew what happened now. Red was probably beating himself up more than he should. After all, he basically was a jerk to everyone. Everyone.

He put a hand on the door frame, finally finding the atmosphere dreary. But refusing to give in.

"...Hey so, um. I was gonna get Rocky some more blocks from the Pokemart. Come...with, yeah?"

Even if he didn't talk, Mac can at least get the guy some fresh air. And at this state, it was better to do with company. Mac, in the end of the day, just wanted to let Red know he got his back. That could be the most valuable thing when you're in such a ridiculous rut because of something some jerk decided to do to leave you in limbo for so long. Not being you and screwing everything up. Nothing was set in stone for Mac when it came to things you couldn't control. So if anything, Mac could just...be there.

He was afraid he'd said no, but seeing him then come...albeit quietly, made him feel a little better. Now it was to bring it home.

He smiled a little and let himself leave for the exit of the dormitories. Rocky chugging along before Mac decided he should carry him instead. Two men and a little babymon.

It was awkwardly silent for a while, the only sounds were their footsteps and a murmur from Rocky once in a while. This was unusual, as Mac was hardly ever silent. But he had to figure out a way without getting in the middle.

Then again, getting in the middle of feuds was in his history. Because he was too nice a guy to really pick sides ever.

Screw it, Mac finally told himself. He had to say something...anything, at least to have Red get something under him that wasn't to deceive him.

"...Look. Red," Mac said finally just as they entered the Mart. "It ain't your fault. I get it now."

He looked at him square.

"I still wanna be buds with you, if you really want that to happen I can make that happen. I can't fix this for you...but I can at least be the guy who's got your back."

He read those words alright...wasn't he able to talk before? Red was pulling a Caim, but Mac knew for a sole fact this man could speak.

Was it really so bad that he can't speak? Was too ashamed? Scared? Red was in worse shape than he thought...He couldn't let it bug him too bad. He had to keep going.

"Who said 'bout needin' to? I wanted to do this. No one asked me to come here and talked to you and get you some air. I did this on my own. Because if anyone deserves a chance, it's a guy who's obviously so shaken up he can't even talk anymore."

He wasn't. He wasn't saying anything. Mac looked at him with a tilted head, Rocky actually did it too. No nothing. Mac can't read what this means.

He was just standing there, blankly.

He didn't know what to say.

Okay, maybe one or a couple things.

"I know it's a lot to swallow, but I'm a guy that likes to stick with what I say and make it set in stone for me. So, whatever I said here, I mean it."

There was a hint of a smile there. Red was still nervous and unsure, right?

Well, Mac's small smile turned into a grin when Red held out his hand and mouthed the soundless words. Yeah, he read them from those lips.

He grinned and took that hand and shook it. Really chummy and friendly like.

Rocky said basically 'Hey me too' and hoped around Red.

That's okay. Because Mac got it. He let go and then Rocky chirped.

We were supposed to get Pokeblocks, dude.

"Well, let's go get the blocks and go on our way, yeah?"
