Ripped off the last one and all its friends: Basically, here's what's going down. We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment, but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!

Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Whatever you want. It can all be yours if you make a thread. So have at it! Don't let this log get away untagged.

Heh, all right.

[No Bulba don't tell Kanji that he'll eat the whole thing... Okay, he'll try to be conservative and leave maybe a third for Bulba. Maybe.

But as he eats, he doesn't know what to say. Their last encounter, not counting the pageant, was kind of awkward, so what he was going to say to that? He figured he would leave it in Bulba's court to explain anything he wanted, as Kanji didn't really have much to offer at the moment.]

[Dude it was seriously all for you. In fact it'd probably give Bulba a certain amount of secret delight to see it all gone.

He snuck a piece of apple, nibbling on it slowly as he thought things over. It was much easier to keep them in line durong this encounter, and the sun shining down on them made it harder to feel too horrible. It was just hard explaining suc an extreme reaction. Bulba finished the slice, timidly drumming his fingertips across the sides of the plastic container.]

I wanted to apologize for running off on you back then. It was really... Uh.... I shouldn't have done that.

[Well, Kanji figured this would come up eventually. He was, however, distracted with delicious homemade food, so things weren't quite as awkward as they could have been.]

Yeah, it's all right... Sorry I was acting kinda... weird.

[Kanji figured that might have been why Bulba ran off. Logically he knew he had no reason to be afraid of spending time with the guy, and he has had time to let his insecurities die down a bit.]

Hm? I didn't think you were acting weird... Cause I mean... I was some dumb guy you found crying, I think you were allowed to feel put out.

[Bulba shrugged.]

At the end I just... uh. Your new room mate? [Bulba tapped the container a little faster.] He's my friend that came back, is all.

[If only that was the only reason Kanji was acting weird. If only. But he doesn't object to it, seeing as he doesn't want to bring up the other issue.

Besides, his thoughts are interrupted by Bulba mentioning his roommate.]

Wait. That little puffball? He was your friend?

[Kanji is both amused and confused. That was his... boyfriend? A puffball? Or could that thing turn into a human like the Pokemon could?

Either way, Kanji does look surprised. His amusement is concealed by the shock, fortunately.]

Yeah, that was him. [He tries to crack a smile.] Weird match, huh? I don't think he's relearned how to turn into a person yet.

Or... learned for the first time. I don't know how this works anymore.

[Kanji nodded. Okay, so Bulba dated him when he was a humanoid thing. Because dating a puffball would just be weird.]

Yeah that's.... really confusing.

Well, I haven't seen him turn into a human or anything yet. He's just a tiny pink ball still.

[It is admittedly still really hard to picture Bulba so gung-ho over Kirby, but he doesn't say anything about it.]

Ah, I see. [He briefly wondered if Kirby would look any different if he ever did.]

He doesn't know. It's not fair to dump some stranger's memories on him, even if... Well, he was my best friend before anything else. We went through a lot together.

[Now he was just rambling, but talking about it to someone unrelated was a bit... Refreshing? Bulba shrugged.]

It was still kind of extreme to react that way. I just wasn't ready to deal with it so I ran off like a jerk.

[Kanji could, in a way, understand. Aside from the fact that he really couldn't wrap his mind around Bulba dating a puffball, he attempted to put someone else in the position of Kirby, and he nodded.]

Nah. I can understand. I mean, you were all upset about him, and then bam he shows up right afterwards in an unexpected place.

It's no big deal, really.

'Sides, you made me this great lunch.

[Bulba had to laugh a bit.]

At least there's that! ... I'm glad you're enjoying it. I was a little worried I'd weirded you out too much to agree to come out, ha ha...

[And after what was going with Max, he would have hated to mess up a tentative, potential friendship before it had even gotten a proper start.]

Nah, I mean... I guess I was worried that I scared you off or somethin', so I'm kinda glad that you invited me for lunch today.

[He looks slightly embarrassed to have admitted that, but at the same time, he actually is flattered that Bulba seems to like him despite all that happened.]

Not at all! Looks like we were both pretty worried about nothing then.

[Bulba noticed and gave him a big, friendly smile for his worries. A little reassurance could go pretty far after all.]

I'd still like to hang out an play some video games sometime too! [Nope he hadn't forgotten that part either.]

[Kanji did feel reassured, especially from that warm smile. He offered a smile in return, though its friendliness did not nearly match that of Bulba's.]

Yeah, that'll be fun.

Uh... I'll do it on a day when my roommate's not around. Heh.

[He gave a small, nervous laugh.]

[It was more than friendly enough for Bulba. He looled pretty grateful for Kanji's consideration.]

Ah, that would be... Good...

Or there's always the common room. There's a few consoles in there that I've used a few times.

Yeah, we could do that too! That might be easier.

[Although Kirby could still appear in the common room, it would probably be less awkward.]

[At least a little bit. It was somethin he was going to have to deal with at somepoint, but it would be easier with others around. Bulba reached for another bit of apple.]

Whenever we're not busy then? Sometime. My schedule might be switching up.

[What was he going to do about weight lifting. Man this was just awkward city all over again. He'd have to figure it out.]

Yeah, that sounds like a good plan. I'm pretty much free when I'm not in class.

[Because who the hell does homework, seriously.]

So uh, just gimme a text or something if you ever wanna hang out.

[Kanji helped himself to more of those triangle things. There weren't too, too many left, but damn they were good.]

[Yess, new friend high. Bulba smiled a little more as Kanji took another samosa and handed him the container.]

You can have the rest.

[What. Bulba. You ate like five spinach leaves and three apple slices what.]

[OH SCORE HE CAN HAVE THE REST-- wait.]

Uh... you sure? You didn't look like you ate too much.

[He feels kinda bad now.]

No, it's fine! Like I said, I don't eat very much! Go ahead.

[And then he...

started taking his sweater off...

...???]

Uh, okay, I mean, if you say so.

[Then Kanji shoveled more food in his mouth. He didn't think much about Bulba taking his sweater off. It was somewhat of a warm day, after all. It was all good.]

[And then there was a topless Bulba in all of his weight trained and spotty and tattooed glory. Geez, pick a trait, Bulba. He carefully bundled up the sweater on his lap and nodded his head along as he spoke.]

I do! Some time under the sun and I'll be stuffed, promise.

[Oh. That wasn't just a sweater. That was a shirt. Now Bulba is sitting there shirtless. And damn, he's nicely toned. Not super-muscular like that Jon Talbain guy, or of course Max, but it's still a nice sight. Wait.

Kanji finds himself looking over Bulba's form, and when he realizes what he's doing, he quickly looks away.]

Uh... The sun, you say? What, you get energy from photosynthesis?

[He gave a small, nervous laugh.]

[Bulba was completely oblivious. It was the saur way. He was positioning himself to get most of the sun on his back, and he shot an excited look at Kanji.]

Exactly! Haha, did the flower make it obvious?

[No, Bulba. No that wasn't a for real guess, Bulba.]

[Kanji was weirded out. But he saw the large flower on Bulba's back and was just even more confused.]

Uh... Isn't that just a tattoo? You know, of pen and ink? I didn't think those things could make energy from the sunlight.

[Also Kanji found himself staring at the intricate details of the flower. It was pretty - briefly he wondered about sewing that kind of pattern for Bulba on a piece of clothing, but he dismissed that thought rather quickly.]
