The game attracted millions of viewers. This specific event, perhaps over a billion. And so it was at Smash Academy, everyone gathered around the bigscreen television in the common room to watch two teams run a ball around a field.
There were snacks. Lots of them. And drinks. Lots of them. And someone had brought a foam football that was currently being tossed around the room. It was entirely possible that people were already drunk, but be it off beer or simply the contact high from being around sports fans was impossible to tell.

Leaning back in his seat, Surge couldn't help but grin at Alex's enthusiasm. It was nice to chat like this, even if the Zapdos had another trainer.
"I don't know about you, but I could use this sort of relation more often," he took a sip of his beer. "With how hectic the school can be, just bein' able to sit back and watch a game like this is pretty refreshin'."

This was nice. There was a game on, he had a beer, and the conversation was going pretty smoothly. Surge knew Alex could be a bit of a delinquent at times, but he supposed that everyone could have their moments of peace.
