BLIND DATES GROUP 2

What: BLIND DATES!
Who: Anyone who was sent a note with an C# &D# table numbers.
Where: Off-campus restaurant. AND BEYOND!
When: November 19th
Warnings: Who knows depending who is here.

[The second group's restaurant is Asian Fusion Dinning. The rooms looks fancy but down to earth and the menu is very varied. Still expensive, however, but you've been given a 100$ budget for eating each!

The lighting is dim, with flickering, oil candles on every table. The place is decorated in stylish black and browns, with Japanese and Chinese wallscrolls and paintings. The overhead
music is traditional yet somehow futuristic Asian music, to fit with the theme. Your servers are all dressed up for the occasion, and speak broken English.

Beside each candle, there's a card. Each card has a different letter-number combination.

Find your table!

OH YEAH AND FEEL FREE TO LEAVE THE RESTAURANT AND GO ANYWHERE ELSE!]

"Oh, no no no... I thought you meant that was when THEY died." Suddenly, he realized how awkward that must have sounded and began to chuckle nervously. "It was just a misunderstanding on my part." Oh, he was so silly sometimes. Maybe he should pay more attention, he thought. Idly he scooped up the menu and opened it to any given page, not looking at it just yet, but intending to.

[identity profile] will-be-god.livejournal.com 2010-12-13 08:00 am (UTC)(link)
Well, that just confused Cyrus even more. He was used to not being understood because no one around him matched his intellect, but people could follow his sentences, at least. "Take care to not make such simple mistakes in the future," he muttered as he looked at his menu at last.

And that eyebrow went up again.

"...such extravagance. That they charge such disproportionate prices for basic food is disgusting..."

[identity profile] sicklypriest.livejournal.com 2010-12-13 08:15 am (UTC)(link)
Not exactly the most astute at comparing prices or familiar with matters related to fiscal ones, Rhys took a look at the menu and read some of the entries. He wasn't sure what to make of the food, since they sounded incredibly foreign, but he knew enough to deem that the prices were definitely outrageous. "M-maybe it's... very delicious?" He puzzled at the word 'makizushi' for a moment. Hmm... "At least, it should be expected, if that's what they will charge..."

I can't load the menu any more for some reason, so bear with me

[identity profile] will-be-god.livejournal.com 2010-12-13 09:21 am (UTC)(link)
"Unjustifiable," Cyrus dismissed. "I cannot support such a wasteful thing. Although it is important that we partake of those foods we favor, for our health and prosperity, we must be ethical in our consumption. And to waste such money on a basic meal is deplorable."

His hands curled on the sides of the menu, denting the paper, although his voice remained the same even tone it had been.

Aww, that sucks! Basically: typical Japanese food for way too much

[identity profile] sicklypriest.livejournal.com 2010-12-13 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Whoa... He was really vehement about the menu prices... Rhys looked at his date's furled hands with some slight trepidation rising inside of him. "So I take it... you won't be eating, then?"

Yeah I remember it from before, but no specifics

[identity profile] will-be-god.livejournal.com 2010-12-14 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Correct." He laid the menu back where it had been. "I have a...specialized diet anyway."

If you need anything, I could write some down on a PM for you? :> Not that Cyrus is eating fff

[identity profile] sicklypriest.livejournal.com 2010-12-14 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
In some ways, Cyrus's resignation made him feel a little more relieved about his own feelings on eating from the menu. "I can understand where you're coming from. I have to be careful about what I eat, in case it makes me sick. I can't stomach much, you see... And to be honest, I'm not sure if any or which of these options will treat me kindly. I guess we're both on the same ship, then!"

Haha I guess I solved my own problem

[identity profile] will-be-god.livejournal.com 2010-12-14 06:50 am (UTC)(link)
Cyrus nodded. "...Perhaps you would do well to partake of my usual repast. It is specially calculated to be nutritionally perfect." After a moment, during which his eyes wandered slightly away, he added "...although most who I provide with it despise the taste."

Sure did! Hooray

[identity profile] sicklypriest.livejournal.com 2010-12-15 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
"It wouldn't hurt to try," the healer mused, wondering what sort of a meal would cause such a widespread displeased reaction. It couldn't be as bad as Mist's beginning cooking adventures! ...Oh, he probably shouldn't be considering that as an example. Poor dear Mist! "What kind of food is it?"

[identity profile] will-be-god.livejournal.com 2010-12-15 08:47 am (UTC)(link)
"A drink, made primarily of vegetables and some...needed chemicals." The last part was almost rushed. Most people had an adverse reaction from that part of the description. "All things found in nature, however."

Because that was much better.

[identity profile] sicklypriest.livejournal.com 2010-12-15 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Rhys didn't seem to fall under the category of 'most people', as when he heard the word 'chemicals', he didn't automatically consider that to be a bad thing, especially if they were chemicals made for human consumption! Natural chemicals, at that. Before arriving at FDC, Rhys hadn't known they existed at all, so the concept of them was still a little vague.

"Vegetables are easy to digest," he commented, folding his menu up. "It's no wonder those you provide it with despise the taste. I can't blame them for not liking their vegetables. Most people I meet don't seem to appreciate them, but they're really not so bad, especially if cooked the right way. Besides, they're healthy."

[identity profile] will-be-god.livejournal.com 2010-12-15 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"Exactly." Cyrus wasn't about to mention that the concoction tasted like swamp water. "Yet in the greater management of health, we must see the big picture."

[identity profile] sicklypriest.livejournal.com 2010-12-15 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, that would have definitely been a bit of a turn-off, now wouldn't it? "It must be like those vegetable drinks I saw hanging around the grocery store. I never tried one before, but they do make me curious."

[identity profile] will-be-god.livejournal.com 2010-12-15 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"In general, perhaps. Yet those are full of harmful chemicals and made to be cheap rather than nutritious." He looked down slightly, muttering something about "disgusting". "...I believe we ought to leave."

[identity profile] sicklypriest.livejournal.com 2010-12-15 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. Hmm. They didn't seem like they were bad... the thought briefly made him wonder what else was full of harmful chemicals...

Rhys straightened up. "It would be for the best. I'd hate to linger without the intention of paying for a-" And then, he broke out coughing, covering it with his sleeve, of course. Oh no... Just what he didn't want to have happen. After a long series of heaves, his lung parade ended, and he recovered with a sigh, looking a little more flustered than he did before.

"...not to mention, I'm not exactly feeling my best."

[identity profile] will-be-god.livejournal.com 2010-12-16 06:58 am (UTC)(link)
"...Quite ill. What has made you this way?" To himself, he wondered if Rhys was even capable of continuing out.

[identity profile] sicklypriest.livejournal.com 2010-12-16 07:46 am (UTC)(link)
"I..." he began, swallowing before he could continue, "My body has always been feeble and easy to fall sick. It's a condition I've carried with me since birth. Why, just a little bit of strain can send me to bed for days, if I'm unlucky enough. I know, I know... it's not something anyone likes to hear, and I really do hate to tell it so many times." He seemed very sincere about the way he felt, like he was sorry to trouble Cyrus with the knowledge of his burden.

[identity profile] will-be-god.livejournal.com 2010-12-16 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
And yet Cyrus's expressionlessness seemed to mellow slightly. "...And yet your mind is strong. That is what is important, I believe. Strength of the body is meaningless if the mind is weak." He rose from his chair, pushing it back under the table. "Come. We will leave this place."

[identity profile] sicklypriest.livejournal.com 2010-12-16 08:42 am (UTC)(link)
...His mind was strong. Cyrus thought he was strong inside. Rhys smiled and rose from his own chair, scooting it back into position as well.

With the compliment beaming in his chest, he said, "Well, we didn't get to stay long and chat over a meal, but... I think this turned out nicely. I'm glad we got to sit and talk. You're nice company."

[identity profile] will-be-god.livejournal.com 2010-12-16 08:44 am (UTC)(link)
That was something Cyrus wasn't used to hearing. Certainly his agents, his officers most of all, would hang on every word he said, but he was still their leader and it was still business. This was something lesser than that, and yet still potent. "Thank you. Although I see no reason to end the conversation."

[identity profile] sicklypriest.livejournal.com 2010-12-17 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
He gave a wheezy little laugh and said, "No, you're right! We can walk while we talk." He began advancing forward to stroll out the door with Cyrus.

[identity profile] will-be-god.livejournal.com 2010-12-17 08:21 am (UTC)(link)
The taller man walked in silence until they were out of the building. This was irregular for him, both remaining silent for that long and to have company. But even though he had been in Final Destination City for nearly a year, it was only a small fraction of his life in Sinnoh, and he was still starting over. He had to make as many connections as he could.

Although feiging socialness usually irritated him, Rhys was at least a decent man. Yes he had been a warrior, but Cyrus had the impression that it wasn't of his own volition. Rhys was devoted to healing others...was it because he couldn't heal himself? Cyrus was sure he could get some use from that observation.

Once they were away from the building, in the crisp fall air, he spoke. "The air...it is similar to the air atop Mt. Coronet."

Sorry for my lateness! %)

[identity profile] sicklypriest.livejournal.com 2011-01-09 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Mt. Coronet..." An unfamiliar place, and he was curious about it. For one moment, he breathed in the air to test its feel. Cool and refreshing. "I've never heard of such a place. Is it where you came from?"

[identity profile] will-be-god.livejournal.com 2011-01-09 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
"It is. The Sinnoh region, quite a ways from here." He could give distance in kilometers, miles, or fractions thereof, but it seemed useless to do so.

"Mt. Coronet dominates the region, stretching nearly from coast to coast. On its peak is said in legend to be the home of the gods, the Spear Pillar. Fitting...Coronet is said to have been where the Sinnoh region began."

[identity profile] sicklypriest.livejournal.com 2011-01-09 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Only a couple hours ago or so did Rhys have a conversation with Misty about a similar topic, so a feeling of deja-vu rushed by, which then turned into a stroke of recollection. The Sinnoh region! That was the place Vashta had come from, the place that was cold and located up north. Excitement leaped out in his eyes and he clasped his hands together, smiling at his new discovery.

"Hey! It's funny; just a little while ago, when I was still at the school, I had a conversation with someone about that very place. Um, well, Sinnoh, not Mt. Coronet. Anyway, we spoke of how snowy that Pokemon region can get, and that it must be quite a splendid sight. I wish to go there, someday. I had a friend who once attended the school; she was a Pokemon. Not just a Pokemon, but a Pokemon of legend! I hadn't known that until today. You must have heard of Darkrai, if you've come from there." He awaited his response eagerly.

Well, eagerly at first, but then a sharp twang of further recollections, a voice from the past, hissed in his ears. The ethics teacher was dangerous. A message that he couldn't read, but others had translated it for him... Suddenly, it felt as though a stone had been dropped on his gut and his mind grew frantic. Oh, I'm so stupid! All along, I'd been talking to him all night, and Vashta tried to warn me...! But... Cyrus is such a nice person. He doesn't seem dangerous at all. I wonder what Vashta could have meant by "dangerous"? Dangerously good looking? no wait that's not Anyway, he should probably watch what he says, especially when it comes to Vashta...

Oh, but he was such a terrible liar!
