Annual Fireworks Log
Who: All of you
What: Fireworks!
When: The night of July 2nd
Where: Campus, but they're visible from the surrounding area too.
Warnings: Small cameos and standard Smash shenanigans.
There was a trespasser on the school grounds. A trespasser toting a large bag full of explosives that looked potentially dangerous. Oh no, he was setting them up! Such complex rigging! What dastardly plan did he have in mind?! The first deadly missile launched into the air, and...
Oh, wait, it was just fireworks. False alarm.
Well, it was obvious by the colourful display that this mysterious trespasser had spent far too much time planning this. What was he trying to do, create a distraction so he could go on a one-man panty raid? Tempting, but not this year.
In fact, now that the fireworks could finish on their own, mystery man vanished into the night. If one looked into the right area of the sky at the right time, they might find the silhouette of some weird spacecraft-looking thing against the bright lights. Could there be a connection?
Who even cares. FIREWORKS.

A backpack full of snacks and drinks, one of her MP3 players along with her speakers for it and a nice set of pillows were now strewn about her blanket as she settled down on one and opened a bag of spicy Doritos. She turned on her player at an acceptable sound level and popped open a bottle of soda before looking up to the skies with a bright smile.

So, it was with a few dark thoughts swirling in his mind that he took a seat next to Riwane on her blanket. He would do his best to enjoy it for her sake, at least.

It was in that moment that he lifted his eyes to starry skies, however, that made him almost entirely drop the mission.
...
Sure, they were noisy, but he had to admit that they were downright gorgeous. This was a phenomenon he'd never have seen upon the ARK. If he never made it to this planet, he never would have ever seen something like this. He stood there by the front gates, mouth agape, eyes focused on the sky above and tail flicking behind him with curiosity.
In a brief moment and a Chaos Control later, he took residence upon the rooftop of the academy, dangling his feet over the very edge as he sat and watched. It's a dangerous move for most, but for the Ultimate Life, it was mere child's play. If he fell, it'd likely ache for the night and the next day, and nothing more. He was confident about that.
Even if it didn't, well...
It was a small sacrifice to make for such a marvelous sight.
SHOVES HIM OFF THE ROOF; r u ok shedo
He utilized his speed to hit up the wall, a bouncing ball hitting every available platform until his toes met the rooftops. Perfect. The sky was visibly available from all angles, paint splashes scattering along a diamond-laced canvas. Yes, yes, it was absolutely perfect. His heart was swelling with the joy of it.
Ahh. Wait, was that...?
Hah! Just Shadow's luck, wasn't it?
With that in mind, he gave a swift grin and approached his unexpected company.
Shadow would find himself facing the inevitable company of a blue dude that was anything but on the inside. With all the rays of sunshine bursting out of his smile, he could've ruined the fireworks display for the entire academy.
"Jeez, you're in my spot," He joked from behind him, eyes between those familiar outlines of his swayed dark spines and the contrasting kaleidoscope high above them.
falls and splats on the floor like a bug. grose.
Notably, he wasn't rejecting his company. He didn't feel his chest tighten as it once did with pure irritation and resisted upset. He didn't really feel anything at all, nothing pressuring him to drive him away, and he wasn't sure why. It was likely their little encounter on the ARK that did this to him, something that made his eyelids droop. One step forward, two steps back, like always.
...
That flutter in his chest must have been a sign of incoming heartburn. He'd take an antacid later, if need be.
"There are other 'spots' around me," he stated simply, his voice not laced with malice, but rather, with wonderment. The sky had captivated him, and he wasn't feeling opposed to Sonic joining him for the view.
He was, however, against the way his heart was speaking louder than his mind.

Such as train. He'd been continuing to train his pokémon against each other to strengthen them against different types, a successful mission thus far. As he knelt over Gyarados with a Revive, fist closed over the small pill, the fireworks began.
He jumped, dropping the Revive into Gyarados's mouth. Which, of course, was where it needed to go, but it was usually done far less distractedly.
Fireworks, of course. He hated them; their noise, their smell, their needlessness...
...but as they reflected off the lake, he had to admit they were beautiful.

But wait a minute... Phoenix thought that Smash Academy wasn't on American soil.
He actually had no idea where it was on the world's geography. So why were they celebrating the fourth of July? Was this some strange coincidence, perhaps? Or perhaps the headmasters were American.Whatever it was, Phoenix was still enjoying the fireworks.

Blacky, where did you even come from.
"A little loud for me, though."
no subject
He smiled at her, calming his initially racing heart as he responded to her.
"They are," he agreed. "Though the noise can make me jumpy."

At least now she could be outside. At least she could see the moon without almost being led to her very death.
But even so, she was in prison; imprisoned with everyone she hated, everyone responsible for having so many years of her life robbed. Well, everyone was too generous. Everything was more like it, since most of those things weren't even alive.
She couldn't even enjoy the beautiful display of fireworks. Sure, it was better than anything she had seen in a long time, but it never subdued her burning desire to be free.

By sidle I mean creak along his management rail and hover above wherever she happened to be, but it was close enough.
"Gorgeous, aren't they? Not as gorgeous as you, of course, but few things can compare to explosive pyrotechnics lighting up the sky like that."
Someone was enjoying himself.
"Oooohhh yeah. Look. At. That."

She wanted nothing to do with the thing, for what it reminded her of, for the simple vice of being a robot, and for all the annoying blabber that seemed to spew out of it. Even if it was one of the few AIs that was not mean to her, his compliments still meant little. She knew it was his programmed personality, something he said to every person of the female persuasion. How did she know? She just did.
She huffed irritably when that metal sphere showed up, sounding like a loud puff of air with no tone to it.
Chell really should stop hanging out near the management rails. She knew that Rick would probably follow her if she moved, since management rails seemed to be absolutely everywhere now, so she just stood where she was, watching the light show and doing her best to ignore him.

The Vaporeon rested under a tree, curled up to keep warm and watching the sight. It was beautiful...he wished Vivian was here to see it. He missed his trainer, for he had never spent this much time away from her before. But at the same time, he knew she would be glad that he was learning and gaining these experiences. Perhaps one day he'd be able to tell her all about them.
For now though, he rested, watching the lights and smiling. Beautiful.

The nice thing, he supposed, was that the weather was good, and that meant he could let some of his Pokemon out. Rock types could be something of a huge disadvantage in that they were...huge, and didn't do very well indoors.
So he could give Onix some room to stretch, even if it meant tearing up the lawn a little. Though it was probably better than letting his giant thirty foot rock snake run amok indoors, the outings always left the main quad worse for the wear--and sound of the Pokemon dragging itself along was certainly difficult to ignore.
no subject
The Vaporeon hauled himself up and padded off to investigate, and didn't have to go far to see the great rock snake moving around. Jet watched it in amusement, noticing the damage it was causing to the ground. No doubt someone would be unhappy about that in the morning. Oh well, not his problem.
"I'm surprised someone hasn't complained about you being here yet," he commented up at the giant, recognising it as a Pokemon and as an Onix after a moment's thought. Didn't see too many Onix in Hoenn after all. He didn't see a trainer nearby at the moment, but that was fine. The human wouldn't be able to understand him anyway, so.

One day. One day, she would be the one to scare everyone else, and not the other way around. This was just pathetic.
Still, they were a nice sight. After the initial surprise, the bangs were much more tolerable. She moseyed on up to the roof of the teacher dorms so she could have a better view.
no subject
But the teachers, she thought, would be doing their rounds and making sure everyone played nice, or were too stuffy to even bother going to the roof of their dorm so that meant she'd have the best or in this case the loneliest seat on the show. And that's how she wanted it.
At the sound of someone coming however, she made sure she vanished out of sight, if anything to leave if it was someone annoying, prank if it was a target or maybe...
Once Blacky had settled where she wanted to, Charlise made her way over behind her before speaking. "Didn't think anyone would bother coming up here..." Best conversation starter.

She appeared in the courtyard, ears flattening against her head. It was definitely out here. Her eyes slowly opened, and she tilted her head up... up...
Oh.
No, she still had no idea what was happening or why.

The fireworks were one thing, but what she did not expect was a student appearing out of nowhere. That particular kind of power wasn't unfamiliar, but it took her by surprise nevertheless, causing her hands to slip and twang out a sour note. Or three.

Samus was sitting on the rooftop of her firehouse enjoying the view when fireworks went off. She immediately thought of Jeff, and removed her panties. Lo and behold, when she caught a glimpse of the Skyrunner it felt only natural for her to launch her undergarments at the space ship.
In a purely celebratory manner, of course.
no subject
The Skyrunner exploded.
Nobody noticed.

He was certain he wouldn't be alone, sitting with his palm behind him and with a bottle of Jack
ha hain the other, just to make the evening more enjoyable.Wait, was that... a UFO? He had barely touched his drink...!
no subject
That certainly didn't stop her from inviting herself to sit right next to him, her shoulder pressed against his. Maybe things were more comfortable like this, she decided.
