What: Cherry Blossom Festival
When: April 10th - 18th
Where: All over town & campus. Wherever you find a cherry tree. Probably even up there on that mystery island for whatever reason, if you're so inclined.
Rating: Flower power.





Pink is everywhere. No matter where you look, you're sure to see the signs of soft pink and white blossoms. There's a fresh spark of life filling the air and just beckoning for everyone to come outside and enjoy the sweet scents of spring. Well, except for you, people with springtime allergies. They just want to make you miserable. But perhaps for everyone else, it was a wonderful amazing time to be had.



There are wonderful spots for picnicking! Frolic inducing atmosphere and the space to do it! Every so often you will see vendors selling treats for the event! Cosplayers taking advantage of their natural environments for photo ops! Hot date spots! Blossoms! Sparkles! Everywhere! Even when it rains.

This log is completely open! You can do whatever you'd like with whomever you'd like whenever you'd like. Just start up a thread and go!

"This is certainly a strange place," responded the danchou. "Everywhere, it seems, has its own eccentricities. We must learn to adapt ourselves to them as they come along."

This was, perhaps, a veiled reference to something.

He watched the blossoms, scattering from the trees to the earth. It felt so long ago, that the earth had swallowed him and another up, and unleashed hell. "Nothing of what came here is left. It all had to adapt. I wonder, Sir, how you'll adapt."

Kai took a drink from his cup of tea. How thematically appropriate. He leaned back and stared at the slowly-falling cherry blossoms.

"Old things must die for there to be new growth. Old branches lopped off for a tree to bear fruit in its season. I will be cut back; I will merely aspire to return all the stronger for the experience."

He ought to have known that Doumeki would have a wiser, mature outlook on it all. The Yuuhi's founder had dealt with far more dire and outlandish missions without pause. Surely, if anyone could endure here, it would be him.

"I must be honest with you, sir." He turned his body to face Kai, despite still evading eye contact. "I've been here for over a year, but... I haven't run... a single successful mission the entire time I was here."

Really, Hajime, at this point in your life surely you could have managed to find a way to help Jock out with his life. He's saved your life. Jock has saved your life. You could at least help him out with a video about eating meat in exchange for him not letting you drown in a lake with your boyfriend.

Kai kept facing the same way he had been facing, looking at the robot who was decidedly not looking in his direction.

"And why," said Kai, "is that? What is the root of this problem, Tanaka? Is it because you lack the assistance of a trained squadron behind you?"

Had Jock ever asked for help filming videos about meat? Moreover, had he ever cried out in despair, desperately hoping for assistance with his meat videos? Because there's a big difference between helping out and actually doing a full-on Ouendan mission. He'd totally help film some vines and mewtube videos if asked, though. With minimal sarcasm even.

The more Kai looked, the harder Hajime found it to face him at all. It took everything he had to keep his posture upright rather than shrinking in upon himself entirely.

"That's... that's not it. That is... having a squad would have made a difference, definitely, I just... I suppose I... lost faith in my own judgment. People got mad when I tried, so I never really figured out when was a good time to cheer, or let people handle it their own, or... anything."

The Yuuhi were, for the most part, big, confident go-getters. He hadn't thought before about how that factored not just in the cheers, but keeping the squad active in the first place.

"Then you must acquire that skill," replied Kai simply. It was not a difficult solution. It was, in fact, the only solution.

"And I will assist you in doing so."

He made a sigh, shoulders going slack.

"I overcomplicate things, don't I." He got caught up in his head too much to listen to the heart.
