SUDDENLY, AND WITHOUT WARNING...



The entire school has become covered in mistletoe overnight. It grows out of the walls! The ceilings! Everywhere you least expect it? HOW CAN THIS BE??

It's probably best not to think about it. Attempts to uproot the plants or burn them away only makes the plants grow back faster. For the time being, it seems the school must live with it.

+ Some (NOT ALL) plants are cursed. If you manage to step under a cursed plant, you will exchange a memory when or if you exchange a kiss. The memories will be first-person and very vivid, and characters will feel like they are experiencing the memory in real time, though in reality the transfer is instantaneous. Memories can be as short, long, happy, sad, or traumatic as you like.

A pleasant surprise. He wanted to give to her a pleasant surprise. Ziio didn't quite know how to take that either. Which was likely indicative enough of the way he did leave her in surprise. Her head dipped for some moments and she continued walking along, in a far more slow and casual pacing.

"I think when you say things like that, you succeed. Even if my face does not show it so transparently."

"Well, thanks for letting me know." he replied. She was right - he'd never know it by looking at her. "I'm happy to have succeeded."

She flashed him the briefest of smiles before she looked aside again. And unsure of how to proceed, she opted for a very ungraceful change in topic. Like a transition in a film that was not fluid, but rather choppy. Considering that Ziio wasn't the most socialite being, it was almost to be expected.

"...Hm. What do you enjoy most about this time of year, Jon?"

"I'll have to admit that, though I do love the outdoors and am more than resilient when it comes to the cold and the wet, my favorite times in the winter involve a book, a hot cup of tea, and a pair of thick, woolen socks."

Despite the fact that they were tromping about in the snow right now and he was barefoot, he was never averse to shoving his feet into a pair of socks and sticking them up while thumbing through a good novel or a book about Pokémon.

"And yourself?"

His response was an expected one. Certainly nothing for her to argue against and even if she could have, she wouldn't have. Logical and sound. Most people didn't enjoy the snow. Ziio, on the other hand, was so accustomed to literally living in it, hunting in it, and spending time in it that it hardly affected her. Cold wasn't something she ever gave much thought to.

"Memories," she replied simply. For that was true. Memories were special to her and important. She held onto them tighter than it seemed she did. And winter held a ton of memories for her, of the good and the bad.

"Memories, eh? Winter holds a lot of them for you? Or just a few special ones?"

He wouldn't be quite so bold as to ask exactly what sort of memories they were. He thought that, perhaps, if she wanted to be more specific she'd do so of her own accord. She knew he'd listen.

"Many," she confirmed for him. "Important people I met and important things I took part in. Life defining moments. Important moments with people I treasure."

Treasured. Treasure.

"Moments like this one, as well," Ziio continued with a short little nod as she eyed him.

He was just slightly taken aback by her last comment. To have this pleasant stroll likened to having met important people and taken part in important things...?

"Careful. I may well develop an ego." he replied. "I'm glad you find today worth remembering. I certainly do."

At first she wasn't sure how to respond. Then she chuckled. An earnest kind of sound. One she didn't have too terribly often.

"Sometimes an ego can be a healthy thing to hold. Not enough people have confidence, especially not here." And the same could have been said about a bullheaded demeanour. Her people may have thought that poor of her, but she found it merely useful.

"Confidence, I've got in no small measure. Though, I hasten to point out that it was hard earned and held on to through hard work." he said, shooting her a wry smile. "However, it tends to be in regards to things I can do, not in terms of who I am, if that... makes any sense at all."
