SUDDENLY, AND WITHOUT WARNING...



The entire school has become covered in mistletoe overnight. It grows out of the walls! The ceilings! Everywhere you least expect it? HOW CAN THIS BE??

It's probably best not to think about it. Attempts to uproot the plants or burn them away only makes the plants grow back faster. For the time being, it seems the school must live with it.

+ Some (NOT ALL) plants are cursed. If you manage to step under a cursed plant, you will exchange a memory when or if you exchange a kiss. The memories will be first-person and very vivid, and characters will feel like they are experiencing the memory in real time, though in reality the transfer is instantaneous. Memories can be as short, long, happy, sad, or traumatic as you like.

[Item fanfare get played.]

Samus watched patiently with her hands on her hips while he took his time and doth smite ye hellish plant of yuletide joy and cheer. The action wasn't quite as rewarding as was his grin. It was hard not to smirk back at such enthusiasm. Why stop there?

"Over there." She pointed out a fresh target--an even bigger dangle of berries to his left.

More, Samus wanted Mac to shoot more? He fully expected to return the gun by now, and he would've done it before Samus asked. But no, she gave him another target. She didn't even really ask either, she really just used the short version of.

I want you to shoot that one next.

It was a challenge, and a challenge was something Mac had a hard time turning down.

He just made a curt nod, as if there was no need to say anything. Because he was going to shoot that next target.

BLAM. Bye bye, berries.

This was mere child's play to her--they were stationary targets at a close distance, but for someone like Mac this was sufficient enough. For what it was worth he was going pretty great for a beginner. She wanted to say "you're a natural" but punching was definitely his forte, something that unarguably came naturally to him.

But the kisstletoe wouldn't be content to just hang around being shot at as they were every year. One cluster of berries suddenly erupted from the wall off to the side behind Mac, pulsating like it was angry.

Of course it was angry.

It wiggled and suddenly it did something new and unexpected--it started growing vines. Struggling to, it seemed, but Samus wasn't going to wait to find out. With a slightly less lighthearted tone in her voice she called out the next target.

"Behind you, 4:00."

Whoa, what? Mac turned sharply and saw whatever the heck was happening to the plant. He, well, had no idea they swarmed like that. Was it because he shot them? Nah, right? They did grow all over the place, after all. Literally all over the place.

It was fine, everything was fine.

The shock admittedly did make him miss once, but the second shot popped the berry bush. Score.
