merry merry christmas, and I want you to know

Who: YOU
What: KISSLETOES
When: December 14th - January 1st
Where: Everywhere
Warnings: Sloppy makeouts.

SUDDENLY, AND WITHOUT WARNING...

title or description

The entire school has become covered in mistletoe overnight. It grows out of the walls! The ceilings! Everywhere you least expect it? HOW CAN THIS BE??

It's probably best not to think about it. Attempts to uproot the plants or burn them away only makes the plants grow back faster. For the time being, it seems the school must live with it.

[OOC INSTRUCTIONS:
+ Post dudes, get kisses!
+ Some (NOT ALL) plants are cursed. If you manage to step under a cursed plant, you will exchange a memory when or if you exchange a kiss. The memories will be first-person and very vivid, and characters will feel like they are experiencing the memory in real time, though in reality the transfer is instantaneous. Memories can be as short, long, happy, sad, or traumatic as you like.
+ If you'd like to participate, we highly suggest making a list of a few memories (with accompanying links/descriptions) that are up for grabs, and linking or posting the list in your top-level comment. Memory exchange is COMPLETELY OPTIONAL. When in doubt, OOC communication!
+ PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TAG YOUR CHARACTERS
+ That's it, we love you.

Admittedly, it was a little hard to imagine someone as nervous and uncertain as Olivia in the role of a teacher. Beyond that, it still startled Hajime a bit to hear her confess as much. He wasn't exactly sure how to respond.

"Ah, but... well, yes, I imagine so. I just... I'm not the best at pleasing people, er, visually. You, ah, you're very..." He's pretty sure it's wrong to call a teacher pretty. "I mean, your dancing, it must be stunning, I imagine. Inspiring just to see, I bet. I just, I prefer the spiritual side of things, where people can't... can't see the mess of limbs."

It was sort of like hearing people from her homeland. Hajime had never seen her dance, and he was already saying things she was sure she'd heard before. Some of the Shepherds would have agreed. Basilio might have teased her a bit. Not everyone had an eye for dancing and Olivia had to respect that, but those who did... Well. They were kind with their praises, and certainly there was more truth to them than flattery. At least she wanted to think so.

"E-er, it's not... I mean. It isn't bad," she began, a little uncertain how to reply. If she said she'd heard it before, it sounded a little vain and she was anything but vain. If she dismissed it, he might have thought she wasn't putting any stock into what he had to say. A classic case of 'damned if you do; damned if you don't.'

"That's very nice of you to say," she finally managed to squeeze out, because it was true. "I-I hope one day you'll come to my class to see if your theories are true." It'd be interesting to get his opinion and beneath her kindness and seemingly altruistic personality, Olivia's high maintenance emotional state often led her onto a path of necessary opinions.

Hajime chewed at his lip. Ah, he'd said something rude. Throwing out flattery like that without having actually seen her took any value away from the meaning. Something was wrong with him, today.

"I... I'll think about it, I promise." He certainly had to, after a comment like that, he had to, just to see her work and confirm his hasty assumptions. Actually dancing himself, though... that was still too large an act of courage to promise on.

This would be the point where he'd hastily excuse himself and rush off to berate himself, if not for one particular issue. "I, er. I, I hate to bother you further, but, ah..." He pointed up, to the mistletoe. "If you don't mind, I mean, I have... work I should be getting to..."

His words were good enough. Even if he didn't end up going, it was probably very unlikely that they wouldn't cross paths again. And hopefully in the future, it'd be on better terms. From a first impression, while perhaps still a little shooken up by the mere meeting, Olivia didn't outright dislike him.

(But to be fair, Olivia had very few first meetings where she disliked anyone.)

She was still thinking about what their future encounters could be like when he continued. As he gestured to the mistletoe, she followed his motion and nodded slowly, trying not to redden too much over the very concept. Then with all of the care she could muster, she neared him just enough to set a kiss to his cheekbone.

"Did... that work?" Because who knew how the mistletoe really worked. Just when she thought she had it figured out, it still sometimes left her reeling with the possibilities.
