Dorm Log

[raw_angel_power]

Who: All of Smash.
What: Dorm log! Summertime special.
Where: Student and Teacher dorms, and quite possibly beyond campus.
When: Approximately the latter half of July to the earliest of Augusts (25th - 15th)
Warnings: YOU KNOW YOURSELVES

We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment, but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!

Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Just add a thread with the room number (and date/time, if it matters) and the characters that reside there (just for reference!). You do not have to use one character's thread as a dual-purpose for both characters if you do not want to. Doesn't have to be a dorm room, either, if you have something else in mind.

And don't forget: things are getting pretty freaky! Shadow bugs are still rife around the school and city, causing all kinds of trouble, but most significantly capable of cloning people and even objects. For the remainder of July, the dimensional lines are a little blurred and causing alternate universe versions of characters to show up. But something ever curiouser has started to show up on campus... Bubbles?

Subspace bubbles? They look kinda like the ones dotting the sky... Dare ye enter?

If you do, you'll find that it... just ends up being a portal to another part of the school. Sometimes they may lead you into some part of town. Weird! Hopefully it doesn't lead you anywhere embarrassing, like in the middle of a stage play or in the bathroom of the opposite sex. That's mortifying.

7/27: Shadow bugs go wild and clone a bunch of office supplies. Do shadow bugs get bored or something? Beware of that stapler you're about to pick up... It might be a shadow bug clone! They're animate office supplies all around the school. At least it's easy to tell the difference between the real things and the animate ones, because the clones are purple. Unless, of course, your supplies are all purple. Then you're in a bind...er.

Also, they cloned the Kraken fountain and now it's come to life. Hope you brought some slippers.

8/1: You know those hazy purple-black pockets of subspace that keep showing up across the sky? Today, a humongous one swallowed up the sun completely. For almost all of the daylight hours, there will be a full-on solar eclipse. Aww, were you working on that golden tan? Too bad, buddy. You're gonna have to wait until tomorrow.

8/5: A herd of Towtow show up at the school overnight and stop to rest. They'll be there, napping all day with that peaceful look adorned on their faces. How cute! But you wouldn't want to see them angry... Maybe that's why you should be careful not to wake them up.

"Yeah, same, they're getting really annoying..." It went from spotting a few in corners to them trying to crawl all over her and eat her C-Gear, now this?

She made an 'eeyuck' sound and slipped her shoes off. For an impostor, that water was pretty real-feeling... "I, uh, I think I'm gonna stay here and try cleanin' up some. If you still wanna hang I ain't gonna say no!"

Kitty's face scrunched up as she tried to convince herself that she had better things to do, or that there was somewhere she should be. In the end however, she let out a small sigh and crossed her arms.

"I guess I'll stick around..." That didn't mean she'd clean! That was the damned school's job yo!

"I'll be right back!" Hilda cheered as she hurried away in the direction of the extra storage rooms. Quick, Kitty, ditch!

She ran back with a mop and a floor bucket, totally slipping a little on account of all the water. Without even trying to pretend that didn't happen, she started attempting to clear up the big ol' puddle.

Kitty did think about it. But again, some nagging portion of her didn't allow her to leave soon enough and it'd be a dickish move to leave when she could see her, even for Kitty. And why she cared was still a mystery.

"Yo, you sure you don't want to leave that for the fuckin' janitors? I mean, they pay then for a reason." Did they pay them? Charlise didn't know. Hell, she wouldn't put it past the fucking hands to not pay their staff.

"I guess I could, but like... I dunno, it just seems like a lotta work and I only ever seen one guy around." Let's not talk about how she and her friends trashed her room back at home and she left her mom to clean it up. GUILT FOR WEEKS.

She stopped flailing the mop around on the floor and turned to look at Charlise, "You know if there's more than one?"

Kitty shrugged, "Not a damn clue." And not that she particularly cared whether there was more than one or not. "Honestly, with how things run in this place it's really damn fuckin' hard to tell who's who and what's what as far as the staff goes. Hell, as far as any-fuckin'-thing goes."

Charlise looked at her and let out a small sigh. "If it'll make you feel better, you can go ahead. I'm jus' sayin' that there's people who get payed to do that junk y'know?"

"Yeah," She nodded, "You got a point. It's always mad crazy up in here." Hilda started mopping up the mess again, "I dunno if it's ever been, like, this crazy but there ain't ever a dull moment, at least. This stuff is gettin' kinda scary, though."

She stopped for a second -- hey, Charlise has been around for a while, right? "This bull-hockey ain't ever happened before, has it...?"

"Yeah... scary." Like her dying befor scary? Yeah, this place could get really fucked up dude, you don't even know... But she didn't want Hilda to panic... more than this made her anyways.

"What this? Yeah, it has. These little shit bugs have attacked before... hell, there's been crazier shit too but," Charlise shurgged. "It seems this place also has some lucky ass s.o.b.'s and they always manage to make things right." For the most part...

Yeah, 'one time I got murdered in town' would probably mess Hilda up a little. Double ghost...

"Geez, I bet..." Hilda trailed off and brought a hand up to her cheek and thought about it. "I hope that luck don't run out anytime soon, then." She really wants to be one of those lucky sons of guns one day! In the meantime, though, she's happy to do whatever she can to help folks out. MOPS AND ALL

Kitty shrugged, "It'll end when it ends and there's really no point worryin' bout it really. I'm sure things will be fine or whatever, ain't like we haven't faced fucked up shit enough as it is and hell, I've heard this place has had it's fair share of fucked up crazyness way before I even came here so they can handle themselves."

Crossing her arms, Kitty leaned against a wall to watch over Hilda. "So, ya gonna continue scrubbing them damn floors or ya gonna leave it to the rest?" She'd prefer the latter, but if the girl insisted on helping then... she supposed she had nothing better to do and would keep an eye on her.

"I guess... Stuff always goes back to normal fast around here, yeah." Or, you know, as normal as things could be. She just kind of wished that all the weird life-threatening stuff would end sooner rather than later.

Hilda looked down at the puddle, over at Kitty, and then back at the puddle again. Was she done trying to clean that mess up? It was still a little soggy and she had plopped her grody wet running shoes in a corner, but was that good enough? "Uh... I think I can leave it." She began lugging the stuff she took out back to the supply closet and took a second to look for a WET FLOOR sign. "You wanna do something that ain't as much of a drag?" She joked.

Hey, whatever the girl wanted to do was up to her, and Kitty would, for whatever reason, hang out while she did it. But she'd be caught dead before cleaning up the place for the staff. Hell. No.

As Hilda went back and forth and then putting the stuff back, Charlise raised an eyebrow. "Huh? Oh, shit man, suits me well enough." she smirked a little. "Anything in mind?"

And then Hilda suggested they go into the city and pick up roadside litter for fun. No? How about helping little old ladies cross streets!? A THRILL!!

"I dunno," She replied, "I was gonna go run but my shoes are kinda messed up right now. Uh... You play video games? Got any hobbies?" Maybe it would be a good idea to throw those shoes at a dryer, in the meantime.

You mean trash it some more and push them into bushes? Yeah she'd be down for that!

Kitty shrugged, feigning disinterest. "I've played video games, yeah. I don't mind them, some are fun." she paused, looking her over. She'd probably have to withhold some of her favorite hobbies... "I like collecting stuff, and watching movies in my room. I guessI don't mind going out stealing shopping."

NO...

"Oh, yeah?" Hilda asked, picking up her shoes. "What sorta stuff do you collect? Like, trading cards or stamps and stuff like that?" She did not have the patience to collect things, but collections themselves were always pretty neat to look at.

"Oh well...." Okay, at this point in time you'll actually see Kitty blush, hard. She never really had a reason to disclose just WHAT she collected cause most of the time, no one bothered to ask, or let alone care aside from the very, very few people who she cared about.

So now disclosing it to someone she met recently and that had wormed their way into her inner circle was a bit embarrassing. I mean, who likes admitting they're a hoarder/pack rat?

"Well, you know... a bit of everything..."

As long as it wasn't garbage it wasn't a problem. "Really?" Or spooky dolls. Please don't have a room full of spooky dolls. "I gotta check it out sometime!"

She grinned and gave Charlise a pat on the shoulder. "All right, one more question: What kinda video games do you like?" Jeez, she was like an annoying puppy, someone take her away...

"Heh, yeah... sometime." Or never, that was cool too! I mean, most people would just make fun of her and she'd hate that...

"S'far as game, I dunno, shit... anything that isn't boring. I guess I get a kick ot of watching let's plays of scary games. Heh. Love seeing them little shits screaming at all the jump scares." she laughed a little evilly. "So I guess scary games, or those discory games where you're like abandoned and shit and you gotta figure out the misteries of wherever the fuck you're at."

"Man, I shoulda guessed!" Hilda laughed, "I'm thinkin' we need a movie marathon for Halloween."

Scary games... She had played a grand total of, like, one. That she didn't finish. And as for puzzle-mystery games there was no way she was smart enough to figure those things out. "Hey, let's go check out what they got in the common room!"

"What now?" she looked a bit surprised. What if there's people? She didn't quite get along with most and people just didn't quite get her in turn. But the reaction did sound kind of stupid considering they were thinking of hanging out.

"Err, yeah. Sure. Let's check it out."

"What's up?" She asked, noting the lack of enthusiasm. "You wanna do something else? Like, uh... Board games? Hang out on the roof? Watch videos of, like, cats or people making bacon towers and stuff on the computer? Most of the stuff I like doin' is outside and the only other shoes I got are flip-flops."

"Oh no, that's not it." she said quickly, a bit annoyed that she let her feelings show. "Was just thinking on some shit s'all. Nothing that matters."

With a huff, she crossed her arms and thought. "Games are fine dude, I'm down with that. The fuckin' pool might be open too an' that's always a good chillaxin' place." And chances were low that anyone would be using it in the middle of all this fuckery so she wouldn't have to deal with douchebags and the sort.

"Oh... Gotcha." The common room it was, then!

"I gotta take a shortcut first, but if you wanna like... Head to the common room to scope it out, that's cool with me." She held up her shoes, "I need to put these in the sun or they're gonna start getting funky."

"Heh, right. Forgot you were carrying part of the fountain in your shoes." Kitty smirked before waving her off.

"I'll be alright, see ya there."

With that, she ran outside to find a place for her shoes to dry. she left a note on them saying HILDA'S PLZ DONT STEAL Once that was settled she bustled back in and made her way through to the common room. "'Kay, done!" Hilda hunched over in front of the TV to examine the game consoles. "...Y'know, I ain't ever seen, like, half of these."
