DRAMABALLS: THE LOG

Who: YOU AND YOU
What: Eggman and Seth's evil plans have been revealed, and this is the catch-all fight log.
Where: around campus/in FDC/AROUND
When: Monday, August 26th
Warnings: heartache and tragedy within
Reference links: plotting post, network post

Perhaps you watched it happen before your very eyes, perhaps word makes it to you via phone, or a friend pulls you over to watch the feed play back. One way or another, you realize a huge drama bomb has been dropped into your laps, Smash Academy:

Eggman's robots are mobilizing.

Seth is some huge, psychotic asshole drug lord hellbent on subverting everyone with clones.

And they're fighting it out on top of a building in FDC and it's being televised.

(What the hell.)

...Or perhaps you are unfortunate enough to not realize any of that until it's too late, and you have been captured and robotsized by Eggman. Perhaps it's less noticeable and you feel like you bumped your head against something and blacked out just for a second. Weird, but you feel totally fine and nothing seems wrong.

Not yet.

Aoi barely had time to think, much less dive out of the way, and she tumbled hands-first, scrabbling in a desperate attempt to escape the flames. She managed to avoid them just in time, but not without her palms burning and her baseball bat clattering away.

She tried to speak, to cry out, but found her voice caught in her throat, overwhelmed by an icy feeling of dread.

She'd seen far too much of her friends turning on each other, and she didn't think she could go through it again, even when it was very clear that it was going to happen anyway.

"JOCK!"

The Arcanine's trainer had finally caught up. She was too late to the scene to keep it from happening, but there just in time to look completely appalled at the sight. What on Earth was he doing?! He knew better than that. If this was indeed another case of Listening to the Bad Influence Friend, then said friend was getting cut out immediately starting now. Just look at him with his stop sign and his horrible attitude, she oughta punch him in the dick again.

The saving grace here was that Aoi and Ishimaru had managed to avoid Jock's embers, but that didn't stop the gross feeling churning in Blue's gut as she ran into the scene to bodily place herself between the huge tiger dog and their schoolmates. She could already tell that he hadn't actually been trying to hit them. They probably would have been more on fire if he had. That did not make this the slightest bit okay to do, and actually alarmed her a little bit more.

"Stop it...! What are you doing, you know you can't do that...! Back up, pup."

Had Jock's orders been 'be you, but sort of a dick' he would have laid off when his trainer showed up. But his orders were more 'wreck everybody's shit up' and therefore, listening to what Blue had to say was out of the game.

Blue's adorable, loving, giant tigerpuppy growled menacingly at his trainer and then JOCK used ROAR.
travelingbelle: (glowering)

[personal profile] travelingbelle 2013-09-11 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
It was a horrible sound that shook through her bones. It was a move to ward off an enemy, to instil fear in their heart and make them flee. The tigerdog was naturally Intimidating to his foes, but never once had Blue ever thought to consider him a threat. Even now, though a deeper part of her own instincts tried to warn her that things were not okay, Blue stayed where she was and lifted her head a little higher. Perhaps it was a tantrum, she wondered to herself. Perhaps a tiny streak of teenage rebellion. The stubbornness of a fire type that she was no stranger to. As far as she allowed herself to reason, this was no different than an ornery Charizard.

As the sound faded, though she still felt it, Blue raised her voice to Aoi and Ishimaru. Her gaze stayed locked on Jock, watching his movements closely.

"Sorry. You're going to want to grab your friend and go." It was more or less an order. More on reflex than any conscious desire to do so, her hands swayed towards the pokeballs at her hip, and she hoped that they'd listen.

Her beautiful puppy scowled down at the slip of a girl, who had refused to run away. If she was going to get in his way, he was going to have to remove her.

He crouched back, and leaped at her, intending on smashing his giant noggin' into her frail, girlish body in a feat of Strength.
travelingbelle: (what kind of madman are you)

[personal profile] travelingbelle 2013-09-12 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
Such a beautiful puppy both in and out of motion. So strong and fast. He had been devotedly raised to be a master of both, and Blue had always been so proud of him. Jock had been one of the quickest to warm up to her, and outside of the playful nips, they had never had the same turbulent times as Sienna. He had only ever been eager to please and eager to love. Never once had it ever crossed her mind that her wonderful tigerdog would ever come to willfully harm her.

When he leapt forward, she had fully anticipated him to stop. Disobedient or not, there was a line that she had always trusted her Pokemon would never cross. So it was with great surprise that Blue found herself crashing against the ground, his name caught in her throat as she was struck. There maybe have been a crack within her unanticipating body.

Whether or not the others had gotten away was no longer a concern. Blue wheezed and fumbled with one of the balls against the ground, holding it ahead of her as well as she could. Nevermind the hurt and broken trust, she could analyze that later. She just had to minimize it right here and right now, as it was clear that this was beyond the realm of what she expected.

"Return," she commanded in voice that was much smaller and more broken than she would have liked, activating the light show that was supposed to bring Jock into his carrying device.

The beautiful puppy, gifted with the speed of an electric type alongside the strength of a fighting type was not the beautiful puppy that Blue knew.

The little beam plinked out from Jock's pokeball and hit Jock squarely in the chest.

It fizzled and did nothing, dying out much as her hopes of a peaceful solution to this confrontation did.

Blue probably recognized the stance Jock was taking, the digging in of his back paws. He was going to slam into her again, using REVERSAL. Just to be a dick, as it wasn't that much of a move without Jock being hurt first.

Or he was purposefully drawing it out.

It was possible. It happened often enough whenever a hunter was bored and just wanted to paw around with its prey, because it was all a game to them. That tiny life was theirs to do whatever they wanted with. Her implicit trust in him had placed the trainer squarely between his majestic paws.

As it was now, Blue was frozen in place in her shock. Why hadn't it worked? The only reason his pokeball shouldn't have worked was if he belonged to someone else, but he was definitely still hers. A bit desperately, she tried it again as he took the stance that she most certainly recognized.

Once more it fizzled and died, leaving only the foreign sensation of what had to be fear racing through her. Flight had finally been activated in her instincts, but she was hyper aware that there was no point in doing so. There was no time to do anything more than drop his pokeball and scramble to reach for another.

He sprang up from his crouch and using his head, he shoved her upwards and flipped her over his back so that she'd land behind him.

He flicked his tail derisively at the girl now behind him, and turned around to growl at her. It was a growl that said 'Put away the damn pokeballs.'

There was the sucking in of air and the opening of the mouth that said that there was a flamethrower about to happen.

Now would be a good time to do something effective, Blue.
travelingbelle: (Get serious)

[personal profile] travelingbelle 2013-09-12 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes it was just about that time.

As she scrambled to get herself back up, screaming pains shocked through her the instant she tried to move her arm, let alone place her weight on it. That's what that particular crunch had been when she fell in such an awkward position. "Shit." Double shit. Every shit. The time of being a lady was over it was time to only be incredibly upset and also in pain, which was a good combination to actually throw those balls the growls had told her to put away.

Or... roll them. She could roll them. Yeah. Rolling was good. From one came the biggest dargon on campus, the other the most beautiful of hedgehog-esque creatures. There was of course the mandatory, momentary confusion about why they were between a battered trainer and a team mate about to use a flamethrower, but that was also enough grounds to move without hesitance upon the order of, "Knock him out!"

Sienna, the fastest of the three, was more eager to make herself the immediate threat. The Charizard launched forward with an AIRSLASH to keep Jock occupied.

Stupid charizard, always thinking she's SO GREAT because she's a stupid charizard.

Jock's FLAMETHROWER met the AIRSLASH in mid-air, scattering flames hither and yon.

Two of them meant that he'd be better off with bigger and better attacks. And if the charizard wanted hot air... he'd give her hot air. With enough for the sandslash, too. He sucked air in again, but far more deeply, and the fire that burned at the back of his throat redoubled from what it had been a moment before.

Well at least she didn't gnaw on some stranger's balls and do awful things because of it.

At any rate, it was her magnificent butt's job to keep Blue out of the pup's line of fire, while the trainer found a way to get to her feet and Acacia did her thing. The thing that the Sandslash had in fact been doing already as the fire types sent their shots at each other, scurrying to flank the Arcanine. Of course, a SWORDS DANCE seemed fairly laughable at this point, what with all the shakes and clicks of her claws when there was badass fire shows getting prepped. Who used stat effect moves really god.

There was an unspoken plan as embers glowed red hot in the back of the Charizard's open mouth, beckoning the Arcanine's attention for a challenge as Sienna built up a FIRE BLAST to match.

[personal profile] flamedog 2013-09-13 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
SWORDS DANCE? Are you kidding me? Seriously? You waste time with that, really? Acacia, you were always the least-good one. Everyone's always known it; you just proved it.

Whatever, Jock leaped backwards to keep himself from being flanked by Shambles McWastesaturn and Swanneck O'Firebutt, and let loose a furious HEAT WAVE; waves of fire-laced air, capable of hitting two opponents (!!), went sailing out of his giant, toothy maw.
travelingbelle: (DRAMA)

[personal profile] travelingbelle 2013-09-13 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
Whatever mutt, there was a method to her madness. Even as she curled to ward off a bit of the heat (though not a whole lot, ouch), her claws buried through the stone and earth.

Sienna's FIRE BLAST had promptly spat through the heated air into Jock's dumb face as she took the brunt of the wall o' heat for Blue's sake. Predictably, it did not do as much to the dragon, who easily shook it off. Her primary focus was to turn and hoist Blue up in her claws as delicately as she could manage to take to the skies. The cacophony of cuss words from Blue's direction indicated that it did not go entirely according to plan.

It was a necessary evil mostly because, you see, the ground was opening up beneath them all in a twisted landscape of Ouch as Acacia ripped it open with an amplified EARTHQUAKE.

[personal profile] flamedog 2013-09-13 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Jock, for once in his life, wished that his ability was Flash Fire. It wasn't.

He took the stupid, not-very-effective FIRE BLAST to the face which, if nothing else, was sort of distracting -- face full of flames and whatnot.

Distracting enough that he didn't realize what was happening to him until a chunk of ground jumped up and hit him in the side. And then another one. And then he fell to his side and kind of got tumbled around by the fact that the stupid GROUND wasn't being GROUND right now.

Okay that didn't feel very good anymore. That felt super not really good anymore. As soon as the earth stopped shaking, he got up to his feet and, in the blink of an eye, used EXTREME SPEED to crash into stupid Sandslash to make it PAY.

"Acacia!" Blue shouted from her wayward vantage point, watching the fight just below.

It was a warning that was not needed. Everyone knew Jock was fast. Sometimes, extremely so. This was one of those times, and the Sandslash barely had enough time to tuck and roll with her spikes bared. Blessed be the high defence, but oh it did not feel good as he slammed his very large body mass against her much smaller frame. She did not feel very pretty at the moment, rolling across the crumbled earth.

This was dumb, why was Jock being so dumb. SO DUMB. Whatever. Feeling a lot more ow than before, she slashed her claws out into the ground. The order was to knock him out, and she trusted Blue enough to follow it.

This time it was sharp shards of rock erupting from below Jock's feet. Sienna and Blue were a safe enough distance away that she had no reservations about using STONE EDGE as well.

Her beautiful puppy howled out in agony as the sharp rocks sliced through his skin. Damnable rock moves. Damnable sandslash. Damnable everything.

A few drops of what should have been blood fell to the ground, but instead of being red, they were deep purplish.

The arcanine, feverishly angry, tore at the Sandslash in front of him with all the strength he had remaining, in a terrible FIRE FANG attack, biting down, spikes and all, on her back.

The thing that was Jock was pissed.

[personal profile] travelingbelle 2013-09-14 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
The Sandslash might have noticed that color detail, were it not for the quick revenge. His retribution was far too hot and full of powerful teeth- the rodent let out a shrill sound as some of her gorgeous spikes began to splinter between his mighty jaws. The sound was quickly joined by the bellows of a roar as the seven foot dragon crashed into the tigerdog, a hazardous tangle of teeth and claws and strong, whipping appendages.

Blue had been haphazardly deposited on the ground moments before, left to stumble to her knees. She had begged Sienna to make it stop. As much as she couldn't bear to watch it, the trainer forced herself to. They were her own and they were fighting each other because she told them to and... There really wasn't any time to think about it.

While she couldn't actually stop the flow of tears down her cheeks, she could do more than just cry. Blue shoved herself back on her feet, pushing herself through the pain and making a dash towards her forgotten bag. All three of them were going to need it.

The charizard had rammed into him, using what wasn't technically a league-sanctioned attack of some sort (great jearb, Sienna).

As the hideous fire-lizard clawed at Jock to get him off of the Sandslash, the Arcanine released the overgrown rodent and turned his hate-filled gaze upon the charizard.

She wanted to get up and close? He'd give her up and close.

The arcanine started to spark with tight yellow crackles of energy as the charizard continued her assault, pulling in energy for some sort of Wild Charge. He pulled his head back and then bashed it into her side with a sickening, sharp retort and lances of energy pacing across both their bodies, sizzling across his already heavily wounded body.

Purple blood started rolling down his forehead from the point of impact, blurring his view.
travelingbelle: (Shock and worry)

[personal profile] travelingbelle 2013-09-14 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
There was not a single part of this fight that was league-sanctioned let us not even pretend.

The crackling of the energy in the air certainly got Sienna's attention, but there was little to be done about it in all of its unexpectedness. She roared and spat flames in response to the super effective pain coursing through her, stunned by both it and the sight of the purple blood matting the fur on his face.

Blue had stopped so abruptly she nearly toppled over again, impossibly wide eyes glued to the sight presented to her. Jock didn't know any electrical attacks. Jock didn't know any electrical attacks. Jock didn't know any electrical attacks.

Who the fuck was this.

The trainer jerked her head towards her battered and bleeding Sandslash, who was looking to her for some sort of direction because what the fuck was even going on anymore. Blue had no idea. Not a single one. This Jock was bleeding violet and pulling out moves she didn't know how to account for, which was something she would have expected out of anyone but a Pokemon she had personally trained. There were a couple of dozen red flags all over this fight already, and this had just dumped a whole new set of them on it. "DO IT," she shouted to Acacia, her voice cracking audibly as she did so.

One more weakened EARTHQUAKE to bring the pup down, and then they could try to figure this out.

While Blue arrived on the scene to dissuade her Pokemon from further harming them, Mondo's focus on his targets was unshakable; it was just him and them. The chaos of the embers swarming the air only assisted him in getting closer to his opponents without their backing off in the opposite direction. Before they knew it, he was right there within striking range. He saw opportunity in Aoi's vulnerability, on the ground and with her bat torn away from her scraped up hands.

Mondo, who was stalwartly opposed to hitting girls, swung his sign down upon her with the unmistakable intent to kill her.

[personal profile] glazedandconfused 2013-09-12 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
Aoi didn't need to be told twice, especially not after that MIGHTY ROAR. Again, she was left with no time to react as the sign came down on top of her, barely missing as her athletic reflexes allowed her to roll out of the way.

From there, she was more than content to let Blue deal with her Pokemon, and Aoi scrambled to her feet, reaching for Kiyotaka's sleeve, pulling him in the general direction of away from here.

Obviously neither of these parties could be reasoned with, and she wasn't going to stick around to try.

"Come on, let's go!"
forgetbeam: (In a state of shock)

[personal profile] forgetbeam 2013-09-16 11:26 am (UTC)(link)
This couldn't be happening. Not one, but two people (well, person and Pokemon) who had suddenly turned against their friends with no warning at all. Kiyotaka didn't know about Jock, but he knew Mondo had been fine just fifteen minutes ago, so what could have possibly happened in the time between then and now?

He stood rooted to the spot, all but deaf to Aoi's urging. This was some unfunny prank, he meant to miss Aoi all along, would never swing something big and heavy at a classmate, would never end up killing, be guilty guilty guilty guilty guilty--

"...Why..."

Doubt clawed its way into his already scarred heart, eating away at his disbelief and desperation. Run, his instincts urged, but he couldn't even move his gaze, much less his feet.
butterbelieveamanspromise: (I'm definitely going to kill you!)

[personal profile] butterbelieveamanspromise 2013-09-17 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
He was full-on Terminator mode, and that meant he felt like stopping at nothing to exterminate those who stood against him and Jock and, by extension, Seth. Nothing that should have held him back otherwise registered. Missing Aoi by a hair, he had to readjust his focus on her after such a vigorous swing, but because of her change in location and Kiyotaka's change in behavior... he zeroed in on a new target.

Before she could make off with him, he jumped in closer and reeled in another hasty swing, then whacked Kiyotaka swiftly across the gut like a batter at the plate. The narrative analogy could have been made better had he swapped weapons with Aoi's dropped baseball bat.

"Die!!" Shit, dude, he was already going for another swing that might knock his legs out. Kiyotaka really needed to react a little faster if he didn't want to be reduced to pulp in less than ten seconds.
glazedandconfused: (just keep swimming)

[personal profile] glazedandconfused 2013-09-17 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
This was worse than Aoi had ever imagined--no one was kidding around, here, and their window to run had closed. Mondo would certainly be able to outpace them anyway, and it seemed she had no choice but to fight back. Kill or be killed.

She cried out when the sign struck Kiyotaka, still not entirely believing what she was seeing. Mondo would never do something like this, he'd never hurt his kyoudai--

Except maybe he would, because their class, no matter the friendships they formed, didn't really know each other anymore, did they?

"Hey!"

If there was one thing Aoi did know, however, it was that she wasn't going to lie down and die, and she wasn't going to let Kiyotaka get killed either, as much as she was loath to use violence on Mondo.

"Over--here!" She punctuated the word with a powerful swing of the baseball bat, aiming for whatever she could reach.
