POOL PARTY BABY IT WAS A COOL PARTY
Who: YOU
What: IT WAS A POOL PARTY FOR THE COOL KIDS AT MY SCHOOL
When: ALL DAY SATURDAY, AUGUST 10th
Where: THE POOL
Warnings: HOLY GUACAMOLE, WE'VE GOT CHIPS
The posters have been up all week, and today
is the day.

The outdoor pool has been filled with all manner of pool-related recreational materials, including but not limited to pool noodles and as many floaties as one could possibly want. Everything is perfect for an afternoon of food, music, and water-based recreation.
Just don't run on the concrete, or the lifeguard might revoke your pool privileges.

His mouth welled up with blood, and the shock took him for a second. Fuck, he should've seen this coming. Red attacked those other girls for no reason, why wouldn't he hit Vinnie now? But was it sheer surprise that made that attack hurt so much more, or...
Vinnie didn't have time to keep contemplating. Another punch caught him in the chest, and this time he was sure. There was no way a normal human with the complete lack of muscle mass should've been able to hit him so hard that he was forced backwards. Seriously, look at the size of Red and the size of Vinnie.
He had to reassess. Darting back another few steps, the Venusaur adopted a defensive stance and quickly glanced over at Mondo to check his status after that Bulldoze. A look of shock was still on his face as Vinnie grit his teeth and muttered, "Nevermind... I take it back."

There are a million questions he'd like to ask Vinnie, about him, about his association with Red, about his tattoos even, and from there we'd have a whole bucket list dropped on us. But there's no time for that. Red's in the way and needs to be stopped.
His breath is shallow and he's slow at getting up, but he's not too worse for the wear. Seeing Red's back to him is his chance; he charges forward and thrusts his arms beneath Red's to tuck him in a clinch and detain him. His eyes fly back to Vinnie.
"He's gettin' weird on us," he says though it's obvious. "Quick, put 'im out!"

But once Red started to struggling, any resemblance he had to the trainer he knew was gone. That purple blood, unnatural strength, the hideous expression on his face that didn't belong anywhere near the Red he knew, they were all so uncannily, unsettlingly wrong that doubt quickly took a second seat to rage. No, this might as well have been a monster wearing Red's skin. A doppleganger playing at his emotions.
Fuck that. With a gutteral roar, the Venusaur balled his hands into fists and sunk them into this Red's nose. Vinnie was going to punch this imposter in the face as fast and as hard as he could until the fake either broke free, or passed out.
shoehorns two dudes into this at once
The shrill voice rings out across the lot, followed by the sound of bare feet hitting the ground in rapid succession. Red's been taking too long getting the ice cream, and impatient little Mary decided it was time to see what the hold-up is. She's followed closely by a certain hall monitor, who she had the misfortune to run into on her way out of the pool area and insisted something about how little kids can't go around unsupervised, or something. Mary didn't care at the time but she sure is grateful now, because he can totally help her stop these bullies from picking on Red.

"Hey!!" Mary's voice may be loud, but Kiyotaka's has a ton more force behind it. "Both of you, stop this at once!"

Compared to the previous two, Chiyo's voice was hardly an audible whisper. Probably as quiet as an ant's footsteps next to Kiyotaka, really.
At the sight of all the men before her, Chiyo took on a look of horror and sadness. She didn't want this, didn't even expect this, and came only out to find Mondo from worry after seeing how worked up he got after she mentioned Red. If she had... If she had only known it would've come down to this, she wouldn't have said anything at all. She sniffled, and, predictably, began crying because she had all the tears in the world to spare.
"Please Mondo. Just stop..." her voice cracked from both her sobs and strong emotions rising up within her. "Just stop, please. L-Look at you. Look at all of you. You're all so terribly hurt. Please don't do this anymore."
She stood off to the side crying, unsure of what to do anymore to stop this predicament. She could only hope that things would resolve itself and she could take Mondo away to treat his wounds. Red, with his oddly colored blood, would most likely need to see a professional for treatment. Vinnie, she didn't know personally, but she hoped he could get treatment from the others.

Aoi, too, was returning at this incredibly inopportune time, having allowed herself a good cry in the bathroom after her underpants were tragically stolen and put on display.
Now she was back, and she was just a little too overly-emotional from the events of the day to want to deal with a poolside throwdown. With the shrill sound of a whistle, she'd announced her presence and was quickly stomping over to the scene.
"All of you are banned. You are all banned from this pool party."

He looks down at the beaten kid growing languid in his arms and, with a taxing sigh, lowers him to the ground. He'd bashed his point into his skull and avenged Chiyo's suffering and it felt satisfying enough, so he had no regrets there, but he could tell already that this fray will strap him with plenty of consequences, and not just an extra serving of disapprobation but a lifetime sentence of detention (especially if Kiyotaka had any say in this). No amount of explaining would make these people accept why he did this, so he doesn't bother.
"I don't care. This pool party fuckin' sucks anyway." He wipes at the semi-dried blood and ice cream cone mess in a half-assed attempt to look a little more presentable, but it does nothing for him. The sooner he can get out of here, the better. He doesn't want to deal with angry accusatory friends or shocked children or being stared at by partygoers floating around bug-eyed in their innertubes, and the fact that he made Chiyo cry even harder stings something awful. He turns to leave.
Sorry to jump in again? This could branch off with Mondo.... maybe. or not.
Thus, with a gentle touch to his arm so as to not agitate him further, she hoped he would either pause or slow down for her to walk alongside him.
"Mondo. At least... let me treat your wounds? Please? I... don't want you to be alone," she pleaded. "Not when you're hurt like this."
Something she wasn't entirely willing to say was that she'd like to stay with him to keep him company, at least until he cooled down and they could have a proper chat on what had happened.
I love how "the corn head" is an actual descriptor commonly used for Mondo in this rp
"I'm fine!" he grunts irritably, shrugging her off. "Hardly even got scratched up from that. Ain't a big deal. Quit worryin' yourself over me..."
no subject
"...I'm sorry," she whispered sadly. I worry because I care. she wished she could say.
"I'll... leave you alone then." A pause before hesitantly adding, "Thank you, Mondo. ...for caring."

In that case, Branch 2 is this-a way
"Brother--!" He begins to call after Mondo' retreating form, but realizes that isn't going to do a whole lot of good. He'll have to deal with him later, which he knows he'll have plenty of opportunity to do. Maybe make sure he doesn't have any bad wounds while he's at it. It'll be hard for Mondo to avoid him when they share a dorm, after all. In the meantime, he makes a note of the girl following after him and plans to press her for information later.
Now it's just the yakuza guy, the victim, and the little blonde girl. Kiyotaka fixes his gaze on the older two while Mary instantly attaches herself to Red's side. His attention is also on Red in particular, trying to assess what state he's in, while he's mostly addressing Vinnie.
"Explain all of this right now!"

"They beat him up for no reason! Red, wake up!"
